Once I eventually got through they were…

Once I eventually got through they were efficient and helpful. The only problem is getting through. They have a very annoying menu system that you have to talk to but it clearly can’t understand an Essex accent which is rather ironic. Then on hold for 10 mins. Then when I did get through he promptly cut me off when trying to transfer me so I had to call again

A terrible company

Hi
I wish the system let me do zero start, they are not a good company at all.but most of the area you don't have other choice as they are the only company to provide the water supply.
They have high water rate
Very expensive.
Better go for other if you can but I am sure no one can move out to other supplier

Extortion racketeers - AVOID!

My experience with them is so shockingly poor, that I feel they should pay all their customers an annual lump sum as compensation for the suffering we have to endure.
Woeful. Inept. Dishonest. Incompetent.
If fraudulent and dishonesty had a customer service league, this lot would be at the top with little chance of being relegated. They really are that bad.
Yes, they are some positive reviews here, possibly by friends and workers, but I believe the majority of customers would agree they really ought to not be in business.
My frustration goes back years and from the off, they decided that, no, I am not a single occupier in my flat. In their crooked accounting world, I am using as much water as the London Fire Service and have a few laundry businesses in my flat as well.

Even when I have been away for months at a time, they continue to pressure me to pay them more money, sending out threats upon threats and demanding to see my wage slips as if I am applying for a loan.

I told them £20 per month is enough, but they're not having it. They then decided to join my account number with someone else's and claim they didn't and produced a brand new number and increased the
annual bill, so that it shows that I am always in debt to them. I asked what happened to the old number, no response.
I asked them to please tell me what was the average cost the other 21 residents paid monthly. That would flag up the disparity because I know a family of 5 paying exactly the same as I do in a three bedroomed house not far away. They refused citing data laws when I merely was asking for an average sum figure and not personalized information.

After about 5 years and thoroughly cheesed off with this mafia fleecing racket, I decided I would take them to court. That is why I wanted the average payments of other residents as part of my evidence gathering to produce for the case.
I felt that if they are confident that all of their demands are correct and that I am not being ripped off mercilessly by them, then they would welcome the opportunity to come to court and explain and prove it. I am sure they have qualified lawyers. I am not a lawyer, so what could possibly go wrong.
Within a short time, they sent an email asking me to tell them what I will be presenting to the court. Yes, you read that right!
I should outline to them - for their benefit - every line of evidence I have against them so that they can "know" before the court date and prepare for it. In other words, I shouldn't surprise them with evidence at the hearing that will show they are merely con artists.
My response was well that is not how I managed in the past to win in court against several other companies by handing them my files with all of my evidence. You have had the Claim Form, read it. Clearly this irked them because the next week or so, I got details from the court advising that they had cancelled my case against them.
Clearly I am paying enough, so why should they go through the bother of attending court. The question is though, will I allow them to continue extorting money from me.

I recently did there water meter…

I recently did there water meter calculator test . the result was we think you would be better staying as you are on fixed prices . yeh i bet you do . your calculator estimated total water&sewage cost to be £264.77 a year . my total cost at the moment is over £530 a year so how the hell am i better of ? and to rub salt in the wound they say if things change come back for another honest assessment . are they joking ? . i am in total shock at there honest assessment .

The normal rubbish service as describe by the many!

As has been pointed out by others, incompetence hardly covers the failures to date. From the lies of not having contact details for Basildon Council, which over a year later they miraculously did have contact details. Their contractors Lowman water services told me the workmen had told me when they would be back, quite impressive if they managed that, as I was asleep when they left! They stopped my neighbour parking outside his house all weekend despite no works done outside his property, this was so they had a parking space when they returned after the weekend! And for clarity and emphasis of the lies being told, when they returned they didn't use the parking space they saved for themselves! Why oh Why wont the government allow us like electricity, gas and internet be able to use a different supplier! instead these private firms like Essex Water and Lowman water services can act however they wish with no affect to their business or their profits, and I can't vote with my feet and use a different company

Useless App

Got a water meter installed at end of May , provided two meter readings since then and still waiting for a bill. Why cant you develop your app to generate your bill instantly based on your reading like Anglian Water does instead of saying will provide you a bill by October.
By not providing a bill your affecting my sewage bill as anglian water are planning to charge me £300 for sewage as they have me down on rateable value.

Introduce minus stars for this company

Wish I could give minus stars for this company. Useless payment system and they tried to charge me more than double my usual amount. I obviously got on the phone and asked them to justify the huge increase and they couldn't so they dropped my amount back down. Diabolical. That's what I dont use direct debit as companies change the amount willy nilly and we the consumer get shafted. Wish I could change companies.

At best incompetent

At best incompetent, at worst dishonest. E&SW claimed to have read our meter last year and submitted a bill for twice our normal usage. We checked our meter and the display was filthy and impossible to read. Once we’d cleaned it up, the figure was half the usage they’d billed us for. This year, ‘due to COVID’ (although how this prevented meter readings I’m not sure as ours are outside on the public highway) they estimated our bill - at 50% higher than our actual usage - and again I had to get on my hands and knees in the street with torch and binoculars to submit the correct reading. Goodness knows how many people they consistently get away with overcharging (because how many in reality are going to get down on their hands and knees on the pavement and stick their arm down a spider web-infested hole in order to check?). Really wish I could change suppliers.

I was very happy with the service…

I was very happy with the service provided by Essex and Suffolk water when I moved into my new home and needed to get set up. I spoke with an advisor called Jason who was absolutley amazing! He made sure everything was in order for me and even ensured a call back to check on progress and make sure everything was done right. Jason is wonderful and a huge credit to the team. Thank you so much for your help :)

Not even 1 star...The pporest service ever...I called today, waiting for almost 2 hours. A stupid lady get my call. I have asked her just to add a direct debit and add a name on the account, that she couldn't help and were about to send me a form via post, to be posted in this situation when you can not go outside...When asked why she can not help me, she just hanged up. You need to revise and provide a good customer service, that you are not able to do now..shame on yoy

Not fit for purpose, government needs to renationalise or put it into govt administration.

Got a email from the "affordability team" during the corona virus crisis saying my bill was going to double. !

73%"Bad" Reviews, from a public utility monopoly which saw a sharp rise in complaints. where's the accountability ?

Government telling you to wash your hands more for Covid19. Essex and Suffolk water charging you twice as much to do it. !

Shocking level of customer service.

I’m on hold now as my bill is very wrong. There is no number to call from abroad I will be charged a lot more from my service provider. I think it is unacceptable to be told that the hold time, the time it takes for someone to answer the phone is 15min! Shocking standard of service.

WORST COMPANY EVER - DO NOT USE!!!!

Was on hold for over 35 mins, finally got through, spoke to someone and they required to speak to the landlord (who was with me and spoke to them) and they refused to speak to us after, as they said the landlord failed the security checks (despite giving them his DOB, how can someone get their own DOB wrong?????????) I have a feeling they may be racist as the landlord is asian?

Excellent Work for move from shared to own Water Main

We wanted to move to our own water supply from a shared supply. This may have taken longer than we would have liked but that was because E&SW were doing further investigations. The work is now done, excellent communications and excellent work. It took 3 teams which I assume is because work is outsourced. One to do the pipework work (Friday), one to re-instate the pavement (Saturday) and one to re-instate tarmac (Sunday) but all done quickly and efficiently.

4th March 2019

4th March 2019 - on phone for 33 minutes and counting . Want to advise them about change of address, pity I couldn't change supplier too. I don't have latest bill so cannot set up online without speaking to these people or person, disappointed to say least.
Leigh Maire - Basildon Essex
Call answered after circa 40 minutes, was offered option of setting up online account or the agent doing it for me. I chose the online route with future contact in mind. Used account number passed to me by the agent but registration failed with unexpected error. Tried again but same error with option to call agent back. Gave up for another day.
