I was so angry but now happy

I am so angry right now. One of E&S men came and fitted a new water meter ( i know they are paid by how many meters they install ) so as you can imagine they are rushed. Because he never fitted it properly one end was loose the other end was tightened to much that ut broke the seal so now we had leaks from both ends in my 85 years old mother. They admitted fault straight away told me not to worry it's just a matter of righting my mum a cheque that was until they realised that the living room carpet cost. Just got a phone call telling me they will pay for hall lineo but not the living room carpet as we didn't call straight away when the leak started which doesn't make sense as we didn't know where the leak was coming from until it spread to the carpet from under the lineoso as soon as we did know we told they. We then done everything they told us to do. This is just a terrible way to not pay a 85 year old woman to replace her totally water damaged carpet because of the negligence of one of there workers. Updated on the 01/08/25. I've given another 3 stars making it now 4 stars. I've done this because after a bit of to and throwing they admitted liability and gave my mum the money needed to replace and fit carpet in lounge and lino in the hallway. My mum and I and now very happy and satisfied with the outcome, i didn't give the full 5 stars as it should never of happened in the first place. Thanks to all the people at Essex and Suffolk who sorted this out for my mother 😊

Absolutely appalling company, if you can, use a different one

Absolutely appalling company. three times i've called customer service today... 1st inadequate wrong advice. 2nd couldn't get through requested call back, eventually called back 45 minutes later... was putting me through to emergency appointment book and cut me off! Now have a 50 minute wait time. Still have water seeping into my living room floor. Initial automated messages says how customer care is so important - ABSOLUTE RUBBISH! The complacency and incompetence of this company is off the scale. Tried to log complaint on their website... guess what, you can't even do that as website address 'not recognised'. Greedy, useless company.

Nasty disgusting company.

Nasty horrible disgusting company. They integrated sewage from Anglian water gave absolutely zero advance information about how billing would work,, considering I had a monthly direct debit with Anglian. I was hit with an unexpected massive combined bill I wasn’t prepared for. With an extremely short payment time. I tried calling and it’s over 1 hour in the phone queue, and only mon-fri while I’m at work. So tried WhatsApp. And they take 3-4 hours to reply to every message and wipe the chat every night. I spent a whole month every single day trying to contact to setup a payment method. That I wanted spread to the next bill. NOT 12 months. And I battled and battled. And gave up. The next contact I get is an attempted and applied for ccj. What nasty horrible arseh**les. Maybe they should pay less to their GREEDY shareholders and employ more phone staff. So customers can actually contact. And they should provide advance notice to major changes. So I get court fees, solicitors fees. So yeah.. they profit out of me. When they are the problem. If only you could boycott and choose water suppliers. I would rather be cut off and buy bottle water. The water in essex is grim anyway. But I have no choice. Welcome to RIP OFF BRITAN.

I cannot thank E&SW enough. They responded quickly two times to an urgent issue. They were very informative and helpful!

Extortionate prices!!

Extortionate prices, upped my bill from £40 to £67 per month! Even though last year when they doubled it from £20 to £40 they told me it would pay off my account balance of £140- double checked with them that I wouldn’t get into more debt paying £40, they confirmed and said only submit a reading every six months which I’ve done. And somehow I am now £184 in debt with them!? And they’ve almost double my bill again. Joke of a company, no other company to go with so I have to pay - I'm fuming.
The lady I spoke to was okay, but had no sympathy for what I was saying and just told me the same rubbish I was told last year that if I pay my bill I’ll clear my debt- liars!!!

Fascinatingly uncommunicative

The company has a call line that after you eventually get to the right line, then you get told delay to answering is 40+ minutes.
The complaints link on their website is broken.
No e mail address

Disgraceful water companies increases.

These water companies which includes Thames Water are a disgrace not only is the service we get especially when reporting serious leaks one of which recently it took them over a week to fix and I had to report it no less than 3 times before they finally come out but our bills have increased by over 70% in five years , this year increase alone was over 25%.

They stated in the media and a like that bills should have increased by only 5% and yet water charges along increased 14% and sewerage by over 42%

At lot of this increase is pay dividends to share holders as usual and the inefficiency of much of the workforce and contractors in fixing leaks and carrying other works.

Abused by bully on phone

Rang this shower of a company yesterday 5/03/25 and had a bad experience with two people on customer service. They were rude and insulting accusing me of shouting, I was in extreme distress trying to contact them over the last three days by phone only to be be told by automated message there would be a 55mins wait until they answered the phone. Every time I rang them over a 3 day period I kept getting this message. I told them I am on priority list because of mental health and I was not shouting, but distressed of trying to get them to answer the phone over a three day period. They had no concern for my mental health even though they are aware of it and just offered an insincere apology for talking to me rudely, I wouldn't accept their apology and told them they were insincere and should treat people better on the phone instead of acting like bullies an d being abusive to me. They didn't like that at all and accused me of being racist because I asked to speak to a black person as they know how to treat people with mental health, I then informed him how can I be racist when I am white and so was he. He put the phone down on me and I ended up with the mental health crisis team coming to see me over the way I was treated by this person, They told me I was very distress and if they didn't realise this they need mental health training.

review:Price increasing

review:

I am extremely disappointed with Suffolk Water. Over the past few years, my water bills have nearly doubled—from around £340 to £642 in just three to four years. Meanwhile, my income hasn’t seen any increase, and yet I have no choice but to continue paying their inflated prices. It’s a terrible situation when you’re forced to accept rising costs year after year without any alternatives or competition. It feels like we are being taken advantage of, with no regard for the impact on our finances. Absolutely awful service and pricing—I’d give them zero stars if I could.

Had To Give It 1 Star

Had to give Essex & Suffolk Water Company 1 star, otherwise they won't publish this, but I give them a "ZERO" star.
What a RUBBISH company, a total disgrace.
I am truly in awe of the sheer audacity it takes to jack up my water bill from £68.87 ( that was bad enough ) to £85.70 a month, i am a single person; a £16.83 increase for absolutely nothing extra. No magical new water source, just the same old crap water flowing out of my taps now at a premium price. How utterly generous of them. The price before was just ridiculous. It’s almost impressive how they can take a basic human necessity and turn it into yet another financial burden.
The extra I will be paying looks like the same old bullshit.
As shareholders and directors will be profiting while ordinary customers are being fleeced for more money. What a BAD company Essex & Suffolk water really are.
Just wonder if i will get a response at all, if so it will be a carefully worded "nonsense" of a response.
Britain is one CRAP country to live in.
