Scammer at worst, incompetent at best

My relative from HK applied for an ETA through eta-Australiatravel.com thinking it was a government site. She was charged around AUD$60. She needed her ETA within 2 days and expected it to take around 4 hours to be confirmed. 12 hrs after she applied they sent a confirmation saying it would take a further 24 hrs. She received no response to her emailed requests for urgency. Ultimately she applied through a different site and received the ETA within 30 minutes, only 4 hours before her flight.
She still had no response from Eta-Australiatravel.com and emailed them requesting cancellation of her application. No response. After her trip to Australia she emailed requesting a refund since their site stated they would give refunds if the visa application was unsuccessful. Then, 28 days after her initial application, and 2 weeks after she had returned from Australia they sent a document showing her ETA was granted. So no refund. Not sure if the “ETA” they sent was legitimate or not, but this ‘agent’ is seriously dodgy.

Not upfront about fees as there is a range. I filled the form as requested but asked for clarification on a question I had before I wanted to confirm my application. This was never acknowledged and my credit card was charged immediately. Disappointedly, I have had no responses to further emails I have sent.
