Used ETI for Ironman Copenhagen

Used ETI for Ironman Copenhagen, the communication was great and very reassuring when handing over the fee and then your pride and joy, Every step of the way we were kept in the loop and going above and beyond to get as close as possible for pick up after the race in the city centre was greatly appreciated. Will be my first choice next time. Thank you ETI

ETI are fantastic. 100% recommended.

ETI have been absolutely fantastic. At the beginning I contacted them to clarify a couple of things and they responded quickly with really helpful information. Seeing others lug their bikes around the airport and city made me so grateful I had chosen to use ETI. The bikes were dropped off really close to the first transition and picked up really close to the end. The bikes were really neatly packed into the van.

I see there are negative reviews but I cannot fault this company. Communication has been excellent and they did exactly what they said they would with upmost professionalism.

From planning drop off to pick up

From planning drop off to pick up, the service was fantastic. Everything was planned to military precision. Recently used for Copenhagen, and will not go anywhere else from now on. I expected logistical hiccups, but it was seamless. As i queued on planes, i watched the disrespectful way boxes and bags were treated. Eti is deffo the way forward
Thank you Eti Tri

Wish I'd trusted the negative reviews

The company emailed less than a month before I was due to set off explaining that they would not be completing the travel service as described, citing their terms and conditions. Leaving me high and dry with just a couple of weeks to find a way to compete in my race, with most rental options unavailable at this point. The offer of a 10% discount from a future race is, frankly, insulting. First of all the value does not nearly cover the inconvenience. Secondly, I haven't entered another race.

I booked this based on the convenience their marketing describes. The process has ultimately been anything but.

Awful communication, customer care and website but good vans

Awful communication but good vans. I used ETI Tri bike to transport my bike from Birmingham in the UK to Coimbra Portugal. Following my booking there was silence until we were given 2 days' notice to drop the bikes off more than 3 weeks ahead of race day. This hindered my race preparations and was outside the stated 3 week maximum window on their website. I didn't have another viable option so got my bike ready but much of the website information on what is required is too brief or ambiguous, particularly on types of wheels accepted, whether to pad the wheels, what needs to be removed. I'd take most things on the website with a pinch of salt and it really needs some development to ease the process for users of the service. I wasted a lot of time getting the bike ready and the driver completely contradicted most of what I had done. On a positive note, the van was well equipped and the driver was friendly. The location of the drop off was a slightly strange motorbike shop car park and return was a McDonalds car park so there was no option for any storage of the bike before drop off or on return meaning that my work day was interrupted with a small window to meet the van. I paid for an additional minor service which is also not described on the website and is really not worth the money - I'm pretty confident this was not done on my bike but a potentially forged service document was provided to me. Since I got my bike back and raised these issues I requested a refund on some of the services that were not needed and it took over 2 months and repeated chasing for this to be arranged.

Joke Joke Joke Avoid!

I recently used ETI Tri Bike Transport to send my bike from England to Lanzarote for an Ironman event, and it was a complete disaster from start to finish.

First, the website mentioned a drop-off in Leicester, and you usually drop the bike off 7-10 days before the event. Instead, I was given a date 15 days before and a postcode for Rugby, not Leicester. Despite this inconvenience, I complied and dropped my bike off.

I heard nothing until the Tuesday before my race (just 4 days before), when I received a WhatsApp message saying, "Oops, sorry, the ferry was cancelled from Spain to Lanzarote, and there isn't another one until after the race. We can't fly them over as we don't have bike boxes, but we'll try to hire you one." Seriously? A WhatsApp message for such critical news?

On Tuesday, they offered me a bike for rental—a cheap, £500 bike that looked like it belonged in a basket on the front. It was a male bike with no tri bars and a male seat. I declined. Then they said they would fly my bag that I left with the bike. By Thursday (a day and a half before my race), I was told that they hadn’t checked the bags, and because someone left a CO2 canister in theirs, none of the bags were being sent. My helmet was in my bag!!!!

This fiasco cost me £500 to rent another bike, £100 to pick up and return my bike, £200 for a new helmet, £120 for a new ladies' seat, and £50 for new pedals, not to mention the £300 I paid for ETI’s "service." They refused to give me a refund—only offering £50 off their service as compensation.

Avoid ETI Tri Bike Transport at all costs. They are disorganized, unresponsive, and utterly careless. Save yourself the time, money, and stress. I wouldn't trust them with a single pedal, let alone a bike.

Booking cancelled close to race date

My booking got cancelled exactly 1 month before my race. After reaching out via phone and email a couple of times already to confirm all was in order I finally got a hold of them and they confirmed it was safe for me to book my registration, flights and hotel. In the end I could not change my flights anymore to add a bike and there was no refund on both that and the hotel nor the registration anymore. This caused 1500 eur hit without a race.

Very poor communication

Very poor communication - avoid. Booked my bike to be transported to Ironman Warsaw 70.3. Called ETI a couple of times to get the details on when I would need to drop off my bike as the race was fast approaching but no news until I receive an ‘Urgent Pickup’ email saying that due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ my bike had to be picked at exactly 3pm in two days time (i.e. right in the middle of the spring bank holiday). I asked ETI if there was any alternative as I was going to be out the country that day and they effectively said not our problem get someone else to take 3 hours out of their Saturday afternoon to transport my bike to the drop off point. ETI have been unresponsive to my request for a refund for a service I didn’t receive. Never again.

Truly cannot speak poorly enough of this company

Truly cannot speak poorly enough of this company, their services and communication.
I paid for 2x return trips from UK to 70.3 Venice and Ironman Lanzarote. On arriving in Venice, I found my TT bike had paint scratched off the frame.
Myself and over 30+ other customers were then informed less than 4 days before Ironman Lanzarote that the ferries were cancelled and they couldn’t get our bikes there. They offered to rent us bikes (however this was only for 24 hours prior to the race, not exactly enough time to fit the bike, practice on it and check in - and also a very poor suggestion for such a high cost service for 180km course). They didn’t seem to understand that this wasn’t a reasonable alternative.
I fortunately managed to track my bike down and fly with 12 hours notice to pick it up in Spain, although I was obviously angry to learn ferries had in fact left from mainland Spain and arrived in Lanzarote before the race, ETI Tri Bike clearly just didn’t want to look into all options to help their customers.
They then failed to get anyone’s bags that were with the bikes to the race, despite promising this until the day before, so many people had to buy new trisuits, trainers, nutrition, etc. less than 48 hours prior to racing. They did not contact anyone to explain they wouldn’t be shipping anything back to the UK, despite that being part of what we paid for!!
They have then ignored all customers for 4 weeks following the event, with a single message sent saying they were ‘discussing with directors’. After 4 weeks, they have confirmed (after repeated attempts to contact) that they will give no refunds, despite so many customers paying £260+ for services that they didn’t remotely deliver on.
Poor communication and terrible customer attitude, damaged bikes, and very stressful atmosphere created before a race.
Truly do not use them.
