Family Emergency

We stayed at this splendid resort for almost five days, and until the incident, it was the best resort we had ever visited. The staff were generally excellent, the food was very good, and the drinks were genuine quality, which is quite rare for an all-inclusive resort.

Unfortunately, our wonderful holiday turned into a nightmare when our daughter became seriously ill. In the middle of the night, she woke up struggling to breathe. We immediately called reception for emergency assistance and explained the situation. However, after waiting more than five minutes with no response, I decided to go down to reception myself.

There, I found a night receptionist who appeared to have no knowledge of emergency procedures. Instead of treating the situation as an emergency, he was simply trying to contact a doctor at 1:00 a.m. I told him that we needed an ambulance, but he refused to call one. Initially, he also refused to arrange a taxi to the hospital, insisting that we first needed a referral from a doctor before going to the hospital.

After I repeatedly insisted, he finally arranged a taxi. The nearest hospital was in Chania, approximately 35 minutes away. This employee not only ruined our stay but also put our daughter’s health and safety at serious risk due to his lack of understanding of how to handle an emergency.

I strongly urge management to investigate this matter and ensure that all staff are properly trained in emergency procedures. Had the situation been even more serious, the consequences could have been devastating. No family should have to face such delays when seeking urgent medical assistance

most dissapointing holiday ever

September 2025
the euphoria resort for us was the worse holiday we have ever had. i am writing this review as i do not want other people to be disappointed after spending a lot of money here . firstly the food is terrible, what there is is usually cold when plated . the chicken pork lamb and beef are all so dried out when served overcooked. which is something we have never experienced in greece before . it is also tasteless food.
2) the entertainment is non existant.one night there were greek dancers, one night a fire eater, and one night athletic men like acrobats. the music is singers who sing songs to make you sleepy. there is no dancing. no shows , all there is to do if you drink which we don't is to sit on the terrace. very boring.
3} no activities in daytime except for pilates in the pool one hour daily. no interaction with guests to play games etc. there was a pool volley ball net rolled up on the side of the pool ,but in the 14 days we were there it was never opened.
4)the hotel itself is very modern contemporary, not a bit of greek atmosphere at all anywhere. it was like staying in a london airport hotel for 14 days bland and boring.
there was a room for luggage made available which is usual for a 5 star hotel but no separate room to shower and change into on your day of departure. the showers are with the public toilets no private room to change clothes after showering.which is something even 4 star hotels make available.if you wanted to keep your own room on for a few hours the cost was extortionate 140 euros.
5)the toilet situation at this hotel is awful every toilet is underground with 20 steps to go up and down, if you have a child the poor child will never make it to the toilets . when i brought this up with the hotel i was told there are lifts also to the toilets . so they expect you to come out of the pool dripping wet and go into a lift, this is not how a 5 star hotel works .
6)beware the showers in your rooms, they are glass walls both sides if you slip there is nothing to hold onto. i did ask for a shower mat and all that came up was a huge black lump of plastic that goes on the edge of the bridges on the pool, i again asked for a proper shower mat and was offered a stool !!! so i said no and used their towels instead
7)it is in a poor location nowhere to walk to unless you want to be on the side of a busy road,
8)the beach,be warned the current in the sea is very strong ,i am a strong swimmer but it was too strong for me ,i would not advise any children going in even with a parent . the beach has a blue flag which i expect just means the water is clear and turtles lay eggs there . it is very difficult to get out of the water even with swim shoes on as it is very very stoney. the whole beach is large pebbles .the hotel does put a red flag up when it is dangerous to swim. please take notice of the flag as i said before the current is strong.even when it is calm.
9)i did speak to the hotel about the food situation and told them to look around at ll the full plates of food that was being returned that should tell them haw bad the food was their excuse was people pile to much on their plates always an excuse .
10)after 3 days we asked to be moved ,we had paid a lot of money for 5 star hotel this is certainly not that, our rep managed to get us another hotel, and then the euphoria asked us to give them one more day to prove we would like it by offering an upgrade to a sea view room, and mor alicarte meals and breakfast in the signature restaurant . i said nothing they could do would make me want to stay but until we moved i would take up their offer of the breakfast restaurant and the alicarte extras. the room i declined as i didnt think we were stopping long. how wrong i was . the next day our rep told us the bad news although she had got us another hotel the euphoria was asking for a further 80 percent of the holiday we had already paid just to leave . we just could not afford it it was 1,650 euros. so we had to stay and we just counted the days down till we came home . i was disgusted with them.
11)we are not people who just sit by a pool all day even if the pool is nice we were just so bored. i will make sure we never book a holiday with this resort company again .the one star was for the comfortable bed. apparently i am not allowed to say what other people thought of the resort, but we spoke to quite a few unfortunately i cannot say what they said.
to the hotel i say this greeting your customers with a towel, and a welcome drink does not constitute a 5 star hotel , you need more activities far better chefs to cook your food, and start putting on some daytime activities, not once did i feel as though i was in greece.

Lovely

What a lovely holiday.
What a fantastic hotel for children and luxury for the parents.
Fantastic food and drink, especially their cakes, wow it was delicious.
We had the family suite with swim up and it was the best room! Lots of space, two terraces, two bathrooms, two rooms and sun until the afternoon.
Cleaning twice a day, and the cleaning staff were so nice and helpful.
There is so much good to say about this hotel, because it was fantastic.

But unfortunately there are also a few things that I have to say need improvement.

Arrival. We arrived very late, and had a 4 year old with us. When we arrived we were welcomed with lovely scented towels, and had to enter a lot of personal information into an app, and that's where it went wrong.
It didn't work and we were told by the lady who welcomed us that we should go to reception. There we waited for half an hour, as they chose to help a lot of other people (without small children) before us.

Unfortunately, there is also a great lack of service from the staff, especially those who are in all the bars.
They seemed tired and unprepared, did not smile, seemed almost irritated at times, and sometimes you were ignored when you were standing and waiting, they would rather talk to each other among the staff.

It is simply not okay in a 5 star hotel. There you pay to get the best service, the entire stay, from everyone, all the time.

But apart from that, wonderful holiday!

Disappointment

Dear Euphoria Resort Management

Replying here as somehow i could not reply automatically to your reply.

Kindly note that when i discovered these bites i first thought they were mosquito bites. As explained in my email it was only on meeting a friend of mine in crete after i left your hotel who happened to be a doctor and asking him what i can apply to the mosquito bites it was drawn to my attention that these were not mosquito bites but bed mites bites and this is the sole reason as to why i did not put forward my concern when at your resort! Trust me if i knew they were bedmites i would have definitely come to put forward my concern and to address the matter immediately.

On returning home and having slept in a bed mite free bed i stopped being bitten and had no new bites.

Please also note that in my initial email making you aware of this, your representative denied this issue immediately without even having checked the room , i emphasized that i will be going to my doctor to have a check up and diagnosis which in fact was done the following morning and a final diagnostic report was sent to the manager even though your resort is denying this! The medical report is conclusive and infact i ended up on medication thanks to the bed mites in the mattress.

Please also note that complaint to the housekeeping was done & not only from myself but also from friends we were travelling with who encountered same issues re hair in shower & outdoor table not cleaned and glasses not washed. This not to mention the fact that toiletries weren't topped up & i had to stay calling for basic items!

Just wanted to state the facts & set the record straight.

BIG shout out to BELLA from Canada in…

BIG shout out to BELLA from Canada in the bar, we really loved your energy in the evenings!
The food is utterly delicious and lots to choose from at every meal, be it breakfast lunch and dinner!
The pool staff are up and down we found but still polite. The reservation of sun-beds by the pool is a tricky business. Apparently there are rules that appear to be totally ignored if you know the right waiter! (We we’re not the right guests it seems!)
All in all, we have had a great holiday and I would love to give this resort 4.5 stars but I don’t know how to!
Thank you for having us!

This is a follow up on my husbands review …

This is a follow up on my husbands review below.

From entering the hotel first time and being received with manners from well educated front desk employees to leaving with late check out and still being able to eat dinner before flight takes off, all was so overwhelming!

The variation of food day to day, the new themes every night.
Whether it is at Kouzina (the sea side restaurant), Italian style buffet until 5pm every day and main restaurant where you can’t decide where to start taking from the buffet! So flawless.

People not eating pork, has many advantages here too…

Pool was a bit cold, but you get used to it. But where to start. Suck big pool with silent area as well.

Service at the pool (pool bar) - non stop service at the lounge bar at the evenings with variation of entertainments. Don’t forget to tip the great employees. They are awesome!

How many hotels have space for sofa lounge in rooms? And access direct to pools? Yes, not many. But here you have it!

The gardners are constant shaping the trees and flowers. Maids are cleaning day and night. Please show the hard workers some respect.

What a view from beach…

We loved it and we are sending our friends to enjoy your great resort. We will come back too before you know it.

Excellent of excellency

It is very necessary to shout out about the excellent service from each staff:
Whether you’re at the service desk to check in, or lounge bar/pool par, restaurant (each and one of them) and not to forget the cleaning staff… even the towel boy is a champ on the service.
I’ve been here for 4 days and got 3 days more, but this is on of the best vacations I’ve ever been in.
All services are included of course besides the spa.
This resort should be 7 star for food/drinking opportunities and the variation day to day but also the employees are performing 24 hours at top level. Not a single staff members are chilling. So awesome!
The pools are way too cold, but you get used to it.
At the end of the stay my wife will complete my review…
