No refunds for order swap price differences and rude sales manager
I ordered an olive tree (unseen) in store. When it arrived in stock, I quickly discovered that it was too heavy for a market stall i needed it for and had spoken to the sales representative about. Despite not having even collected the tree yet, the store manager and regional manager refused to provide a refund for the price difference - even if I downgraded to a lighter tree ($100 difference). I explained that I was a loyal customer of Eureka Street and the cost to acquire a new customer was so much higher than a $100 refund. The regional manager snapped back and told me that if i was such a loyal customer, a $100 credit note shouldn't be an issue. I explained the tree was purchased on a company credit card, and couldn't be kept by myself as a personal expense which is why a refund was the only option I could use. It didn't matter though, i was told it was store policy and that i can lodge a dispute with the ACCC because it's a 'change of mind' purchase despite the item not being fit for purpose after trusting the sales team member in store that it woud be suitable. It was cold, rehearsed multiple times and unethical.
I will never buy from this brand. Customer loyalty doesn't exist and in an age of Aussie retail brands, this one will also be on the chopping block with that kind of approach.
