Kingsleeper (first time in a van)

First time staying in a van, and it was an incredible experience.
I rented a Kingsleeper van for 4 days and spent 3 nights in it.
The staff was really friendly and attentive, making everything smooth and easy.
The van was great, slightly old, but comfortable, well-equipped, and perfect for a road trip.
I did the trip in May, and while the overall experience was very good, it could get quite cold at night. I would recommend considering the small heater option, as it would definitely make the stay more comfortable.
Overall, a fantastic experience. I would definitely do it again !

No recommend

The positive was the WhatsApp Support was good and the Camper was well equiped.
But the Camper it Self (Euro 2+1) was very used and it was all in all dirty. Not to recommend!

Excellent budget campervan option

Had some apprehension about booking due to mixed reviews online but was so happy with the Euro Sky 3 for a week long trip in April on the North Island. Company were really responsive via email when I had questions before and during my booking and Joel was super friendly and helpful when I picked up the van. I can’t see how 3 people would fit in it though! Solar for the battery was great I never had to hook up to power to charge to have use of the fridge, water pump and gas stove worked great. I opted not to use the van toilet and stayed in cheap DOC camps or free camps with toilets. The price is very affordable compared to a lot of other companies and I think the value for money is excellent, had a fantastic trip in this van and would book again!

Maybe a different van would be better

The van I hired was ok to complete my trip but I wouldn’t recommend - the company, yes but not the van. I hired the Euro 3 and the van was clean enough but there was something left in the fridge (which was switched off) and it stunkkkk, I bought cleaning stuff because it smelt so bad and even after cleaning it the smell was always there. I got the van for the freedom of being self contained yet I was the told to be able to use the toilet overnight you have to take the whole bed apart, the video of the van on the website shows the toilet on rollers but apparently that’s just their smaller van (the company have recognised this and are updating it) but even being by myself that was annoying and considering you’re meant to be able to fit 3 people I cannot imagine how annoying it would be (in Kaikoura area I was actually told it doesn’t meet the self contained standards for that region so be careful as you could get slapped with a fine if you’re caught with a toilet you cannot use overnight while freedom camping), I ended up staying on campsites most of the time to have access to a toilet overnight which was a cost I did not expect to have. On note of the toilet, it leaked everywhere, multiple times, covered my bag and my shoes which I then had to pay to be cleaned. I was solo yet I was running out of water every couple of days, baring in mind I was staying on campsites so I was using their toilets and kitchen, I was only using the sink on the odd occasion but the pump is so powerful you end up wasting so much water. The battery in the key died which being solo wasn’t the best as you couldn’t lock the front doors once inside. There was just a lot of little things that were annoying but altogether made the trip some what unenjoyable. The staff during pick up and drop off were lovely though, but overall wouldn’t recommend the van, but maybe one of their other vans would be more suitable.

Toilet leak nightmare. You get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for. I think this van would work fine for a short weekend trip, but being in the kingsleeper for 2 weeks was a bit of a nightmare. We were given an extremely abbreviated tour. The guy checking us in simply slid the door open and vaguely gestured to the things he was explaining how to use from outside the van. It was also very hurried, and we felt like we were being pushed out the door a bit, like there wasn't time to ask questions. While we did inspect the van beforehand, there were many things we didn't notice until we were too far from their Auckland location to turn around.
1. Mold in the creases of the curtains. There was a lot of mold and mildew from damp curtains bunched together over time. That made the van feel very unclean, especially when the mold is at eye level when you sleep every night.
2. The brakes were really squeaky, and we couldn't press on them going down any hills without the most awful sound.
3. The TOILET. The toilet was the most detrimental part of our trip. We used it as the instructions stated, and then, one random morning, we woke up to find all our luggage, groceries, and toiletries stored under the bed, soaked in urine. We checked that everything was screwed tightly and assembled correctly after dumping, and nothing seemed wrong. We were thankfully headed into Christchurch the following day, so after wiping up as much as possible, we took it in for an inspection. The receptionist and the first repairman we spoke with were so apologetic and friendly, but we were referred to someone else towards the end, who was very condescending. When telling us what "went wrong," he gave us instructions on how to use it, and when we told him we'd been using it properly, he told us we were wrong and that there was no other explanation except that it had to be our fault. He passive aggressively proceeded with the inspection and after pouring water into the toilet, it leaked all over the van again... there was a faulty rubber seal. We reluctantly had our toilet container replaced and left as soon as possible.
4. There were also missing kitchen supplies: 1 LG bowl, 1 SM Bowl, 1 butter knife, 1 glass, when we were promised doubles of everything.
5. Locking the van was a nightmare, especially when camping in quiet parks. The van wouldn't lock unless each door were slammed shut. Every night, we had to go around and slam each door multiple times before the car would lock.

Overall, we feel rather scammed. We were given the absolute bare minimum and dismissed when we raised concerns. I strongly recommend considering other options before resorting to this one.

Good price for a van you can stand in

Good price for a van you can stand in! Easy booking, communication, check-in, and the van was clean and easy to drive. We liked all the amenities and cooking/sleeping was comfortable. Only things we got tired of by the end of 12 days were the gas prices (van tank only lasts 6 hours of driving so we were constantly refueling), and it was hard to access the storage underneath the seats from inside the van, so many of our personal items weren't as neatly tucked away and slid around a bit while driving.

Cheap price but not much comfort

The communication was great & quick. The camper itself was fine for sleeping but a bit run down. Got really cold at night, so without staying at powered sites and without the ventilator it wouldn’t have worked for us. As it’s not much space in the campervan we stayed in a hotel for the rainy days.

Great experience

Great experience. Pickup from the airport was worry free, on the way back we just missed the shuttle so we walked the 15 mins.
Van was great, got us through the windy and steeper parts of the fiordland with ease. Perfect for 2.
We were early on arrival, so we had to wait a bit for our van. The staff gave us a different car to go ahead and do some groceries. Excellent service

Christchurch for 3 weeks…

We hired from Christchurch for 3 weeks and the staff there were great.

Comments about the camper;
* Absolutely no way suitable for 3 persons. We just coped with 2 with storage and space.
* Only one set of bedding provided and we purchased an extra light weight blanket.
*Gas bottle lasted us 3 weeks.
* Grey water tank got smelly after a few days so we emptied it regularly.
* Toilet lid kept flying off with the cushions on those windy roads. Not a biggie.
* Vehicle itself went well.
* Freedom camping was not enjoyable all the time as packed some nights. Used camp sites more than anticipated.
* Inclusions were sufficient.
A wonderful holiday and experience and New Zealand (South Island) was just beautiful,
Thank you

Seats are not appropriate for 3 persons…

Seats are not appropriate for 3 persons
Middle seat is like for a POW . Overall it’s not the worst one but could be a better
Engine is small for this weight of the van , especially for 3 persons with luggage’s and aiming mountain roads
Otherwise if you are looking for budget and reliable car ( not many expensive, but not many extras) you can count on Euro Campers. Our had an issue with thermostat cabins heating/cooling, creating inconveniences and extra gas expenses, n

Terrible kingsleeper

We rented the eurocampers’ kingsleeper for a month. This was the worst van we ever rented. Nothing was convenient, there was rot on the curtains and no electricity whatsoever at the back (not even the fridge). The freshwater tank was not full and the graywater was not emptied when we started. At least there was no mechanical issues and the van worked all right. The staff was just okay. If we were to do it again we would definitely rent with someone else..

Review on EuroMaster for 2 wks rental south island

We rented EuroMaster camper from CHC branch for 13days for our south NZ trip.
Everything works fine with the accommodation & motor engine performance.
Check your tyres, fill-in your potable water tank before you camp for the first night.
Remember to bring your own cable/car adapter to charge your HP & HP holder to clip on the AC vent.
Ample storage.
Two sets of linens/towels were provided.
Overall. Satisfied.
Thank you.

Customer service during pick-up & drop-off was a breeze...

Excellent experience

Excellent experience. It was our first experience on a campervan. We had small troubles on the way (small stone got in on our brakes) and the team helped us very quick with no problems.
Pick up and drop off were super easy and with a lovely team. Happy to recommend them.

Beware of cold nights

When we picked up the van, we had to wait a long time because the staff were overwhelmed, and when we returned it at 5 pm, they didn't take us back to the airport. This wasn't mentioned anywhere.
The van was in very good condition and very pleasant to drive and live in.
The linens didn't smell nice and the duvet was far too thin for the season. Some nights we were very cold with temperatures reaching 4 degrees Celsius outside.

Campervan was so run down.

Campervan was so run down and almost everything was broken. We had to drive back to the depot 5 days into our trip to get multiple issues fixed and found the process to be painstaking. I would recommend using another of the many rental companies.

Booked with Campstar

Booked with Campstar, not sure why I am writing a review for Euro Whatever. Have heard most camper companies are ordinary. Campstar did not disappoint.
