Just returned from our Ancient & Modern Japan trip. A very busy 2 weeks. There is a lot of fast paced walking, around 8-10 miles per day. But if you want to see the variety that Japan has to offer... See more

I've just returned from an amazing Exodus holiday which visited not just one, but two must-sees.
The first week focused on Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu and, for no extra charge, you can even do the one day Inca trail. Such a fantastic experience!
The second week was spent island hopping -and snorkelling- around the Galapagos. The tour includes four of the larger islands (San Cristobal, Floreana, Isabela and Santa Cruz) as well as spending time on Bartolome, Isla Lobos and at Las Tintoreras. Needless to say, we saw all the animals we'd hoped to many times over.
It was sheer genius to put these two destinations in one trip and, as always with Exodus, the guides were exceptional. Holger and Richard were absolute experts who took incredible care of our safety and were a pleasure to travel with.
This is a relatively new Exodus trip and comes highly recommended!

Just returned from a great week's walking holiday in Portugal. We spent two days walking in the mountains and then four days walking along the coast. Very diverse scenery and you really got away from the normal tourist hotspots. Group size was great, only 8 people plus our guide. The group really gelled and was a mixture of couples and single people. A very enjoyable break.

We had an excellent experience with Exodus from our initial phone inquiries to the final moments. Our guide, Teresa, was knowledgeable, engaging, fun and clearly committed to making sure every individual in our group was having an enjoyable time. All our outings were expertly executed and our accommodations and food were very enjoyable. We will definitely be looking into other Exodus trips.

Great walking holiday in Tuscany. Leader went the extra mile every day to make sure we got the best out of the trip. Agriturismo was brilliant, great food, great staff and very comfortable. We had an excellent time, could not fault it in any way.

Guatemala is a unique and beautiful country with a lot to offer. I think the best time to visit it is in the next few years before it gets too Americanised.
A great place to learn about the Mayan civilization and people.
The walks, family run hotel, food were all very good but what made it excellent was the tour leader Thanos. A font of knowledge and really went the extra mile.
Our trip to the amazon and The Inca Trail was very varied and we got a very full look at Peru. Our guide William was very knowledgeable , helpful and good fun . Everything was very well organised and the food on the Inca Trail was amazing. I would recommend this trip

Travelled for 2 weeks in Peru with Exodus. Great experience, experienced guide, good (if very packed) itinerary. Recommend Exodus for their itinerary and care of travellers.

I've done several trips with Exodus but Carpathian hiking and bears was far and away one of the best ever. The combination of beautiful, unspoilt forests and meadows, the wildlife, the bears, and the excellent accommodation at Villa Hermani and guide Sebi made this a magical experience.
Booking was easy, it is excellent value for money, with a very thoughtful and interesting itinerary for hiking and feeling that there was a real connection with the countryside.
Everyone was welcoming, attentive, organised, very committed to conservation of the wildlife and ways of life in the country that gave me a real insight into the Romanian heritage and history. I felt I was experiencing a precious and fragile community connected to the land. I loved every minute of this trip.

Kind, knowledgeable and relaxed local guide. Comfortable and clean accommodation, close to centre of a small town with excellent facilities and surroundings including a good choice of restaurants. Well curated itinerary with the possibility to opt out of activities if wanting to.

The walking holiday in the Tuscan countryside and Wine tasting was a good mix of nature and culture, visiting as we did Siena and Florence as well as Medieval villages. Our leader Lorenzo fleshed out the experience with his knowledge of the history of the area, his enthusiasm was infectious. The walking level was not difficult for those who walk regularly and it was possible to walk independently on the free day. The weather was unseasonably wet and a bit chilly but the beauty of the Tuscan countryside mitigated that. It was good to stay in one place for the whole week and not have to constantly repack, some however missed alternative places to eat or drink as we were in the middle of countryside.

I have been on 11 trips with Exodus and my wife 13, all around the world. Each one has been fantastic. Well-planned, excellent leaders. Small groups. Good support from booking all the way through. We are just back from Sicily, which we very much enjoyed. Tiziano was an amazing guide. Highly recommend Exodus.

Walking in Tuscany with the legendary Sara Bull.
Exodus are the best at this type of trip - from initial contact through to completion they are always on the ball and easy to contact.
The itinerary for this trip is excellent and Tuscany is beautiful and spectacular. Stayed in Agriturismo Braccicorti- can’t recommend it too highly. The people are friendly and welcoming
, the food is excellent and the location perfect.
Had some great walks with a wonderful group of people expertly led by the amazing Sara Bull.
I highly recommend this trip to anyone who likes hiking in picture perfect landscapes.

We would highly recommend this fascinating trip which takes you through four very different countries starting in Hungary then onto Romania ,Bulgaria and ending in Istanbul- in each country we saw stunning scenery, learnt about the individual extensive histories ,as well as their culture and traditions and visited some of sights that bring these histories to life. All overseen by our fantastic guide Barni ,whom it would seem knows all the best people , places and sights to see and experience on this trip.
There were so many delightful and unexpected adventures starting with the Baroque Thermal baths and its Art Nouveau architecture in Budapest and ending with the magnificent Ottoman mosques of Istanbul
In between we saw amongst many sights ,the beautiful painted wooden churches of the Maramures region of Romania , alongside picturesque Saxon villages with their fortresses and castles ,we learned about the legend of the infamous Vlad the Impaler ,as well as their Royalty and more recently the Communist occupation. We also tasted the wines of Hungary and the paplinka of Romania. Bulgaria brought us iconic cathedrals and Roman ruins and mosaics amongst other things.
The scenery is constantly changing from fertile plains to rolling hills and rivers, to snow covered mountains.
Both Romania and Bulgaria still feel untouched by mass tourism so can offer unique experiences without long queues or costs.
All the accommodation was family- run and excellently located ,so we could maximise our free time as most sights were easily reached.Although the itinerary was very full and busy we had plenty of free time to visit additional attractions - Barni arranged for local guides to both inform and orientate us to each place with suggestions about what to do and were to eat etc.
We had indeed been waiting for a trip like this to come along and we were not disappointed- Eastern Europe has a lot to offer so we would urge everyone who may be interested in visiting these countries to book now!

Itinerary for 2 weeks in Peru, including 7 day trek/6 nights camping was very detailed, full and well planned. Challenge level and expectations, including any health risks and considerations were clear. Travel logistics & accommodations were clearly communicated and easy to navigate. Guide and all staff were very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate for what they do which made the experience all the better. I will definitely travel with Exodus again and recommend it to anyone who wants to see the world without planning everything on their own.

Great trip with great guide.
Peter was great - from initial what’s app group , organising meeting everyone, ensuring we all drank enough water ,setting pace so everyone managed the walks etc.
His enthusiasm for the local area and people shone through and it was lovely to visit local stops especially the lunch stops and coffee bars .He ensured the fitter members of the group got a chance to do a bit extra and was encouraging to all the group. Knowledge of history and local culture was excellent . He provided lots of extra information to help plan day in Seville etc and took fantastic photos which he shared with the group at he end . A lovely touch . He felt like a good friend rather than a “leader” almost immediately .
Lovely accommodation and great meals
