I Think I've Been Hacked

This is actually for this site but the credit page.

Not sure if these are the same thing. I got a letter in the mail saying I was part of a data breech and they are offering free credit monitoring. I checked online to see if this website was legit. I didn't find anything saying it wasn't and found two that said it was. So, I signed up.

THE NEXT DAY, I couldn't get into my computer using my password. My Apple ID wasn't working. It was saying my phone number and email were not legitimate.

I think I've been hacked.

Awful product

This is the Experian product you're likely to be offered for free when you are included in a company's data breach. In my case, it was Anthem.

Thanks to its barebones nature, it quickly becomes an annoyance. Why? Because every change reported to a credit bureau, even the ones about which you do not need to be told, triggers an alert. I do not need to receive an alert every time a bank reports my credit card balance has gone down because I paid my bill.

If the product allowed me to toggle off the alerts I did not wish to receive, in this case "Credit Balance Decrease" messages, this service would be worthwhile. But as it currently crudely exists, it's training customers to eventually ignore their alerts -- which means there may someday be an important one that gets overlooked.

Perhaps this is all by design, hoping the frustration will make you into a customer of one of their paid products. Don't fall for it.
