Totally useless - don't bother
As other reviewers have said, this site is utterly useless for getting work. I have 10+ years' experience in my field, and despite being a perfect fit for a number of roles advertised, I inevitably get an automated email that's one of the following:
- You weren't shortlisted (despite ticking every single box)
- The work was cancelled (this happens so frequently it's very suspicious)
- Another 'Expert' was chosen (totally fair, but not even getting an interview etc is suspicious to me)
At this point, I'm going to delete my account because I've never had a single nibble despite successfully freelancing on other platforms for years. Don't waste your time.
Not for Big4 or anyone else we know of..
Have tried to use expert360 for several years with no success.
Attitude has an MBB bias, so dont even bother if your not... big4 guys dont waste your time.
At this point in time i do not know of anyone who has secured a contract here.
Most jobs are never filled and show up later as cancelled - so either fake or filled elsewhere.
Free text application process will scramble your CV and present rubbish to a client if it gets that far.
On the few occassions we got to a client discussion the first thing the client asks for is a readable CV. Rubbish platform. Dont bother.
Limited ads that lead nowhere, all below market rate
Limited jobs, most adverts lead to nothing and all are below market rate. Customer service is poor.
Platform is total and obsolete rubbish
Platform is total and obsolete rubbish. Virtually no jobs advertised and all with the same excuses and reasons as to why they are no longer proceeding or why they chose someone else. The platform is many years past is use-by date and an insult to the calibre of people signing up for it. Do not waste any of your precious time on this useless tool.
Never get paid…
For a company that’s about account managing freelance consultants they are incapable of doing the basics. They struggle to secure work - most adds that go up go nowhere or if they do aren’t properly scoped. Payment is always very late. If a client disputes a payment regardless of the reason there is no avenue to ensure you get paid - you are on your own. The account managers don’t even actually account manage (the client or the consultant). They also waste effort on pointless things like town halls etc
6 months late on pay with very little regard for consultants
I'm an ex-MBB manager, freelancing since 2020. I tried Expert360 once as a platform and was appalled by their treatment of consultants.
I signed up for a contract for 3 months at market rates with one of their brand name clients which ended in August.
They were over 6 months late on pay and only after paid after continuous calls to their useless support and servicing team.
Very disappointing. I would never use their services ever again.
Not worth it.
I have been on Expert360 for a while now. I did have an initial call with someone from the organisation, but that is where the communication stops.
What I notice is that a job will appear, have a start date that may be say in one week, so you spend time putting in the application and then nothing happens.
You do not hear anything back, no notice whatsoever, and as I look now there are a large number of jobs that have their start date to be months ago, there are even about a dozen jobs that have been posted 3 years ago still accepting applications.
In saying that I do get occasional emails for jobs that have starting dates that are six months old.
So the concept was probably a reasonable idea, but the transition from an idea to reality just does not work.
Because of the total lack of feedback, the lack of communication, the lack of transparency and the fact that there is zero ways to tell if a job is real or fake, I would absolutely not recommend this site.
As a business model, I can not see how the company can survive long term. The numbers just do not add up, on their website they have 40 plus people in a photo, they also have nice CBD office so their overheads are about maybe $3.0-4.0m, they say they have 3,500+ clients and 42,000 experts, yet they would be pushing it to publish say 50 contracts a month. Lets assume that they make about $100 a contractor per day ($500 per contractor per week) that generates about $1.2m a year, so just to break even they would have to take $300 per candidate per day. So a job advertised at say $1,000 a day is in fact $1,500 per contractor per week to them.
Then look at the number of clients being 3,500 and divide that by 600 (50 contracts a month X 12months) = that means that 1 in 6 clients will put up a job per year. This also means that with say 600 jobs per year you have a 1.4% (600/ 42,000) chance of getting a short term gig and that is across all jobs, if you have a specialty then the odds are way lower than that.
So I am calling BS on this.
Completely useless - I suspect fake job ads
Completely useless. The UX is garbage, the application process is complete rubbish, the website...let's put it this way I can code something better myself.
I think they fake all or most of the job posts given that on 100% of applications the process goes like this:
1-jobs relevant to you
2-you apply
3-the client puts the project on hold
4-or cancels the project
5-or another candidate has been selected
I know other consultants with plenty of experience in tier 1 and 2 that never got an offer through this platform
Almost Useless
I have been following expert360 for a while now. They were a poster child of the Australian startup ecosystem, but I reckon the founders and CXOs have now moved on to greener pastures, leaving this one far behind.
When I joined two years ago, I got assigned an account manager who was supposed to help me get through to my first contract. But nothing transpired after that first call.
Job posters are quite irresponsive. I would not bet my life on this service. Most jobs end up with either no response or a standard response that the firm is no longer recruiting. Wonder, if all the ads are just fake ads being run to please the investors.
1 star just because they got a platform together. Nothing good to say otherwise.
