Think very carefully before paying for these services

I gave 3 stars only because if you rate lower, no one seems to read or respond. Honestly, I wish there was an option for negative ratings, like -5 stars. I don’t believe there are any real humans in their customer service chat — it feels completely AI-driven. They claim to be “working with the carrier” to unlock my device, but the status has been stuck at 99% for over two months.
They suggested upgrading to a paid “premium service” to speed things up and secure a refund if it failed. I paid extra, but when I later asked for an update and refund due to zero progress, my live chat access was blocked with the message: “Due to misuse, Live Support is no longer available for this IMEI. Please email contact.... .”
Think very carefully before paying for these services — my experience has been highly disappointing and unprofessional.

⚠️ This is a scam ⚠️

⚠️ This is a scam ⚠️
I was asked to pay $24.99, which I did. Then, when they had only completed about 50% of the process, they demanded an additional $106. Since I refused to pay more, they did not unlock anything.
This company is a scam — beware. I will be contacting my bank and reporting this immediately.

Pure scam company

Pure scam company.
Received 2 emails from them yesterday saying a stolen card was used to obtain their "eligibility check" scam payment and now they're demanding £34.80 or will blacklist phone 😂
Here's some legal information regarding their threats / scare tactics.
"ExpressUnlocks threatening to blacklist a phone is a common tactic used by the company, but whether they can actually do so legally is questionable. While they claim to be able to blacklist phones, it's likely a scare tactic to pressure customers into paying additional fees. Only mobile network operators or legal authorities can request a phone be blacklisted.
Here's a breakdown:
ExpressUnlocks' claim:
ExpressUnlocks frequently threatens to blacklist phones, often after already charging a fee.
Legality of blacklisting:
Generally, only mobile network operators (like EE, Vodafone, etc.) or legal authorities can request a phone be blacklisted.
Scare tactic:
The threat of blacklisting is often used as leverage to extract more money from customers, especially after they've already paid for a service.
What to do if threatened:
Don't pay extra fees: Avoid paying any additional fees they demand, as it's likely a scam.
Verify the threat: Check with your mobile network provider to see if they have received a request to blacklist your phone. You can also use a blacklist checker online.
Report the company: If you believe you've been scammed, report ExpressUnlocks to action fraud uk.
Consider your options: If your phone is blacklisted, you may need to contact the original network provider to resolve the issue.
Review platforms:
Websites like Trustpilot have many reviews detailing similar experiences with ExpressUnlocks, often highlighting the threatening tactics and extra fees."

Absolute rip off

Absolute rip off. Tells you that the handset is unlocked within a small space of time. Isn’t unlocked at all and had to go to network provider to have it done a week later. Avoid this company.

Scammers! Don’t touch!

Continually trying to get extra fees and threaten blacklisting
Just to advise you I have rang action fraud uk and reported your company to them and raised a case regarding this.

I have also rang my network provider EE to advise them of your black list threats and they have noted our account and will instantly remove any black list attempts.

Any correspondence you send to me further will be passed onto both EE and action fraud UK

The site is an absolute scam

The site is an absolute scam. Beware the initial fee is only to tempt you in then they issue a request for further larger fee to get the ‘unlocking code’. I can only imagine that any positive reviews are generated from AI bots. Stay away from this site.

Horrible

Horrible! Stay away I’m now 22 days overdue for a phone to be unlocked and constantly being told to wait longer I’ve asked for a refund and being denied by Anna. Unless you have money to waste stay away because you will be denied a refund unless the unlock fails which you won’t know because you’re going to get the same generic message with the refund process etc IF THE UNLOCK FAILS. It should be if the customer requests a refund for overdue service requests .

I want to give negative stars

I want to give negative stars! Like all of the other reviews here Expressunlock is a total scam. Keep giving reasons why they need to charge more money and then when you realize you can’t get your money back only a “site credit” which is about as useful as an umbrella in a hurricane. Even less!! Stay away!!! Unless you have an unlimited supply of money to keep shelling out as they give more and more excuses for money you need to spend!

Hidden fees beyond initial £11 that is not explained before purchase taking final total to almost £50. Could have got cheap unlocked phone for that. Don't be duped and please shop around for more honest company that does not have hidden fees.

They had 2 sites with the same scam…

They had 2 sites with the same scam express unlocks and directunlocka. The has a intuitive website and fast. You put the imei and said you can unlock the phone but when you pay they run the same services you first try when you put the IMEI and this time they charge you stating that is for carrier check. Then other email to paid another amount to fully unlock your phone. Probably they can unlock but they are scamming for to payments that in total is more expensive that the average smartphone.

Still locked after a full week

Still locked after a full week
Express Unlocks advertising is deceitful. They make the price appear comparable to other companies $24.99 and then charge more +$106.00 +$1.06. So total cost $132.05. They appear to promise maybe 30 min. which is pretty normal for most companies but it might take 6hrs. Well here's when they started mine; Sun 20 Apr 2025, 04:40 EST. It's still not unlocked and they refuse to refund me. I recommend not using this company.
