WRONG COMPANY REVIEW

The other review on here written by "GB".. Brenda IS NOT a review of EYAYAW TOURS, which is a highly respected company in Ethiopia run by Eyayaw BIRU.
AND has 100% 5 star reviews on Tripadvisor.

This very negative review is of a compny called EthiopiaExperinces owned by a Brit, Chris.....and an Ethiopian called EYAYAW BAYABLE who have zero reviews on Tripadvisor.

WRONG company this is Ethiopian Experiences. run by Owner Eyayaw Bayable and Chris, Grant

Ethiopian Experiences....Eyayaw tours "Tribes, Mountains and Caves 10th june 2025 "

The person you have to deal with when booking is Chris Grant I will introduce you to him at the start he is lovely and friendly and does all he can to help but the 1st thing you should become aware of is that he really does not like you asking questions!

I cancelled this trip 1st on 17th Feb. as things did not feel right.. then got sweet talked back into going again, the 2nd time the reason i cancelled: on 14th March; found out about the unrest in Ethiopia .. he assured me it was safe; being very nice so i decided to go! as he was so friendly .. but then.. I start asking questions and he changed towards me!

I asked for details of the travel agent to contact them myself but he refused to give them to me?( I don't know why) later on i asked for my paid plane ticket to be sent to me he refused and said I do not need them (i did not understand why he wouldn't give them to me) so asked for these a few times he was so annoyed with me, he sent me a few emails shouting then screaming at me!!

this upset me so much i could not sleep for a time and really did not want to deal with him at all, the least possible
Any question i asked after this he replied that all answers are in the Preparatory tour notes ...

to be aware, you start receiving these notes around about 35 days before you go on the tour! ... not enough time to find the answers you need and to back out of the holiday if you want to use the 30 day 50% money back guarantee .
.one should question this!

Talking about these Preparatory tour notes 2 weeks before we were due to leave They cancelled The caves... a 1/3 0f the holiday title and a highlight which I really wanted to visit! and they replaced it for a city we were already going to visit for a few extra days as a replacement!!...."The city of Hawassa which Chris wrote "this will allow you to explore the wonderful lake, the Fish Market!!?"
I felt somewhat cheated ... their excuse for this was, you could not pass the road ? to the caves ... as a hotel was slowly being built ..

on doing research myself I know there are lots of ways to reach the caves and got told this was not so.....also Chris said something about it being a long way to go just for one thing to do??

It is a hard thing to find this company on the web "Ethiopian Experiences" Beware that this company does not follow English law as you have no rights!
because they are registered in Ethiopia!! (to find out this info you have to look hard for it on there site) so please do read very carefully the term and conditions .. if your wanting a refund because you do not have a leg to stand on after the 30 day cancellation time!!

Also another thing to be aware of it that you pay for the holiday into Chris Grant holding account! (like a standing order! unknown to me at the time it is like given them Cash so you cannot get the money back from the banks, from him/Ethiopia Experiences; shamefully I trust people to be honest!!)

being desperate to get my money back I noted the nasty emails I received from Chris Grant, looked like he hadn’t CC Eyayaw Bayable tour owner/director in , so I reached out to Eyayaw and the reply i received from him shocked me.. his reply
"Of course I know all about the recent emails with Chris. His job is the emails to my guests. My job is to prepare everything for you and give you a really good tour. All is ready here in Ethiopia"....

Because they cancel the Caves and treatment I received from Chris and the reply received from Eyayaw shocked me ...plus their refusal to give me of any sort of refund I felt i could not spend time with them in a country I did not know and did not go on this holiday and lost just under £4,000.00 with Flight included

Also £100 added on the original price that is not noted on their website page or on our final receipt that WE had to pay £100 more the original price was £2620 now £2720 because the tour was extended by 2 night to do with flights? ..written by Chris.. “ Eyayaw needs to ask you for just £100 extra to help finance the inevitable two night' accommodation in the Jinka hotel.

As I asked for refunds I have to add this info lastly.. What's written on their web page "That the funds do not go out of the account until just before the holiday??
...... but chris told me " the fact that the finances have Been in Ethiopia now for several weeks!?? , being dispersed, as they were intended to be, to reserve and pay for accommodation, transport, guiding agencies, and the like. All of this was done, as I have already said, as soon as the one-month deadline had passed.so the money all really gone to out of account and no refund!"

I let you make your own minds up and wish you all the luck
