Fine for short term but beware steep price increases

If you want to store stuff and just forget about it for a couple of months, then this service is fine. However, the monthly rate that I signed up for on a 6-12 month basis was increased by $50 after only 2 months - the reason they gave was "due to costs rising across the sector". They gave the same reason for hiking the monthly rate by another $50 a few months later, which I haven't been able to find any evidence of with other providers increasing their monthly pricing at anywhere near this rate. I was also told when I signed up that the storage depot was easily accessible by public transport, which it isn't, and the friend who drove me there got a punctured tyre from the industrial rubbish littering the unsealed road into the depot. There is no designated customer parking marked onsite, and when I asked some of the other lost-looking customers attending if they knew where the office was, no one had been able to find it.

I don't feel that they're completely up-front with customers, and they lure people in with a low initial rate and then put their prices up on a pre-determined schedule (I've seen a number of Google reviews going back several years all saying that their rates were increased by the same amount and in the same timeframes as I experienced, with the business always citing the same reason). They now have a chat bot on their website which quite openly tells you that they offer initial low rates on their removal service to "encourage you to get into storage" and that the cost of getting your belongings returned will be much higher, which suggests that the pricing increases are an intentional business model rather than being due to any factor beyond their control.

I can only recommend them if you need your belongings out of the way for a few months without needing to access them, and get out before they hit you with the second price increase. I don't like giving negative reviews but I feel it's important for potential customers to hear about these experiences, and for the business to have the opportunity to consider adopting better customer-focused and more transparent practices.

Excellent work and the two operators where very caring.

I am a aged pensioner and I the two male operators were really terrific. It was cold and raining when they arrived and in no time had the containers loaded and ready to leave.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Ezebox to any one in my position.

Most furniture was scratched damaged and mouldy …

Most furniture was scratched damaged when I got it back didn't really make it worth having as I had to clear most of it cheap as what was I going to do with furniture that’s scratched chipped marked and mouldy I have texted for some money back lol yeah no chance not even a text

Very open from first conversation that…

Very open from first conversation that we had an oversized table. Reassured it would fit in storage truck. It didn’t. They had to send additional storage truck the next day. When delivering our storage to our new home, they knew our table took 4 men to move however they sent 2 and advised as soon as they turned up that they wouldn’t be able to transfer our table into the home (without even looking at the entry areas). They left our table in our garage and we need to sort how to get it into our home. VERY unimpressed.
Staff who moved out items from our home to our new home (aside from the table) were very lovely and courteous. Very able service to move regular items.

Henry and Harry were brilliant

Henry and Harry were great. My parents are 85 and they were polite and super efficient. They made the unloading process so much less stressful! Thanks guys.

Hassle free storage solution .

Excellent and efficient service both storing and retrieving our furniture . Had become more expensive to continue storage than the initial price only a few months previously, but still good value compared to others we had looked at .

The team who loaded and unloaded were very pleasant, careful and efficient .

Check your expectations!

My box was loaded today and taken away. So far I'm very happy.
The process to arrange and book the service was efficient and I found Adrian to be lovely. I also asked for a change in date and that was smooth too.
The guys who loaded up were pleasant and friendly and did what seemed to be a great job.
I say to check expectations, because I see some negative reviews about the price going up - I know my price will go up, as I've been quoted a discounted rate for the first three months. It's been made really clear to me, so no problems there. So far my expectations have been exceeded.

Scammers - raising prices

First of all I was wary of this company due to reviews saying they take your items then hike up the price - this was especially concerning since I was moving to Europe. When I cancelled my pickup due to these negative reviews Darrell from Ezebox contacted me and gave me an email which said in writing prices would not be increased.

Here is the email dated 17th Feb from Darrell:
Clare,

Based on our discussion I feel confident that it will fit within our boxes. And I assure you that you will not see a price hike, you have it in writing in this email that you won't see one. You can pay 12 months in advance if you like and I can give you the 13th month for free which will reduce your overall outgoing a little bit more, or you can do month to month and still only pay the $119/month while enjoying our lower pickup rates.

I even spoke to him on the phone and he assured me the price was locked in. I then received this email as soon as I arrived in France....

Dear Clare,

Regrettably, we are writing to notify you of a rate increase effective from your next payment. This increase is a result of increasing raw material costs, labour shortages, (increased wages) and increased insurance premiums being experienced by the entire removals and storage industry.

We acknowledge that rate increases are frustrating, and as a valued customer we have refrained from this increase for as long as we possibly could. There will be no increase applied to any other services, (padlocks, boxes, blankets etc) if you have taken these options, however your base storage rate per Ezebox will now increase by $50.00 / month.

While it is regrettable that we are in a position where we have to deliver news of this nature, we are confident that our pricing is still extremely competitive and our service is without peer in the market.

Should you have any questions please contact our office on +61 488 856 545. Thank you for your understanding that this price increase means that we can continue to maintain the superior standard of our products and services going forward.

They pull a bait and switch on their customers I highly DO NOT recommend this company as their prices are false. They lower them initially to steal you away from the competition and once the items are in storage and you are overseas increase them. The guy on the phone told me they only did that once due to exceptional circumstances of Covid but this seems to be their Modus Operandi.

Unfortunately Darrell made no notes detailing this agreement on the system.

Similar to Health Insurance, rents or software subscriptions, storage rates are reviewed annually to ensure a business can continue to operate. As suggested, the best way to 'lock in' a rate is to prepay the period you are looking to store - we appreciate this is not an option for everyone.

Great customer service

Great customer service, they arrive on time, were friendly and easy to deal with whilst loading and took care of my belongings. The prices were also competitive and I would highly recommend to others. Thanks again guys!!

This company quotes you one price and…

This company quotes you one price and then within months they increase it by nearly 50%.

The customer service is horrific.

Read the other reviews so many of us have had similar experiences.

I’ve heard they bribe 5 star reviews for discounted storage.

Shouldn’t have to do this if they just ran a legit company.

I wish I had gone to taxi box!
