I received a promo code from eZhire via email and carefully reviewed the terms and conditions. Since I did not need to rent a car at the time, I shared the promo code with a friend.
My friend used the code to book a car for one day, and everything was proceeding smoothly until the order confirmation stage. At that point, I unexpectedly received a WhatsApp message from an eZhire representative stating that the booking would be canceled unless I paid AED 167, claiming that I was not the same person who made the booking.
I explained that the promo terms did not mention that the code was restricted to my personal use only. However, the agent responded by saying that although it was not stated, it is their internal policy.
I then informed him that I would share this experience publicly so that others are aware that additional policies may apply, even if they are not clearly mentioned in the official terms.
find attached screenshots of the conversation with the agent, along with the promo code details.
