*UPDATE
So since this review I have had a call from the manager however I missed it and they are yet to return my call
Meanwhile, it's gone from having someone in there office tell me at the start of January that completion would have been last week, to my getting a call from my purchases ESTATE AGENTS telling me that eZie are attempting to complete by THE END OF JANUARY. No actual date given by eZie conveyancers yet as.
They have now asked me for documents which should have been requested months ago (including some I have already sent, updated documents and one that I have told them repeatedly I do not have). Have advised that they go to the concil for required items ASAP as local authorities admin departments are notoriously slow, however this advice appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
Have absolutely no idea where my paper work is, what enquiries need to be answered or when we are moving.
On top of this I have a increasingly frustrated purchaser and my buyer is (understandably) chomping at the bit.
So just going from bad to worse basically.
Communication is appalling. Haven't spoken to my conveyancer since early December. No one seems to know what's going on, impossible to get through to person handling case so im forever having to repeat myself to various people over the phone. Urgency does not seem to be paramount with these people.
Initially confused over who my actual conveyancer was, as this kept changing on the eWay app. When this has eventually been established it took a good few weeks to have an initial appointment call (although I will take some responsibility in being difficult to contact due to shift work).
I then had barely any contact with conveyancer. Emails go unanswered and when they are it takes days. Searches have taken ages and they do not appear to have really made a great effort in chasing responses. Prior to Christmas couldn't get hold of anyone at all, phones calls straight to voicemail with no response.
This company is now putting the whole sale and purchase in jeopardy due to them dragging there feet. Absolutely furious considering the amount I'm paying. I have attempted to complain over the phone but the my refute any responsibility and all parrot the line 'well we are responding to your calls', whilst tiptoeing around the amount of time it take them to return calls and emails. So yeah would NOT use again. I have had an absolutely horrendous year and these guys have just topped it off.
Also having read the reviews previously I am dreading my bill as they seem to have a reputation for charging extra.
Purple bricks however were pretty decent, but lose marks themselves by recommending this absolute farce of a company.
Great
I was surprised by the other reviews. My experience was great. Quick, hassle free online service. Gareth called me a few times never had to wait for anything - really efficient would highly recommend! Overall service between them and purple bricks sailed along nicely and a lot cheaper that the usual high street companies!
Appalling service, don't use
I found moving after 37 years stressful but this company made it 100 times worse. Used them because recommended by Purple Bricks (who were brilliant). They don't respond to emails, phone calls etc. Completely incompetent- even after completion, tried to charge me for an insurance that I arranged and paid for myself, still don't have a full financial account breakdown five months after completion. On one occasion they even confused the details of our sale and purchase addresses! Don't use under any circumstances, I don't think they should be able to practice.
Awful... Inept... Farcical...Uninterested
PLEASE do not use eZie conveyancing as they are consistently poor, inept and slow. It took them 17 weeks to complete a two chain sale!! If our buyers hadn't been so patient then eZie would have cost us our sale and purchase. Our case handler could not have sounded less interested whenever i spoke to him. He took anything up to three weeks to reply to emails from the other solicitors involved, and these answers only came after i continuously chased them. I have ended up over-paying, they said they sent me a cheque 10 days ago... surprisingly i have not yet received this cheque, so off i go again to call them to find out what is happening... Please read the other online reviews if you need further confirmation of how bad they are.
Made a simple process a nightmare!
As like many other reviewers in here I was suggested EZie conveyancing by PurpleBricks as there was no upfront fee. As I was selling on with no onward chain & to a first time buyer the process should have been pretty simple... How wrong was I!
Since receiving an offer on my property in October the case was then passed to EZie conveyancers (ironic name). During the 7 months that my 'simple' sale took to complete I had 4/5 different dedicated case handlers. Each no better than the last & I had to contact them repeatedly. Everytime I contacted the company my dedicated case worker/s were unavailable & emails were sent with no response.
The dedicated online platform seemed great, however it was never updated & I was requested multiple times for forms & details that that when I spoke to them they already had. This being the first experience of Purplebricks & EZie conveyancing and all I can say was just what a very stressful process it was. The companies failure to manage the case appropriately & the repeatedly different case workers cost me around 3 more months of mortgage & bills on my empty property so any small initial wuote savings are wiped out by delay they added to the process.
Eventually a completion date of 4th April was agreed, on the days prior to completion I phoned the office to be told it was a very busy day due to stamp duty changes & they might not get it done? This after waiting 7 months already & they agreed the date. It took me about 5 hours & 6 phone calls to them in completion day to finally complete the sale. (Again I had no chain & the buyer was a first timer with no chain).
The process was completely drawn out & I was very lucky not to lose my buyer (it came very close).
On completion I received a telephone call, however 5 weeks later & still no completion letter or final monies owed. So as it stands completion was 4th April 2016 & today 9th May 2016 I still have not received what is owed to me from the sale. I have asked to make a formal complaint & advised they will send me out the complaints process...
Use this company at your own risk, if I can have this experience with a 'simple' process I dred to think what others with more challenging sales may experience.
I would ever return to use this company & would outwardly discourage others due to my experience. I hope I will receive my final monies owed soon.
A genuine review of a genuinely terrible experience of EZie conveyancing
Totally incompetent
No replies to emails or phone calls. Financial statement is completely wrong. Don't use.
Shocking
It seemed impossible to get any movement on the case despite pushing on a daily basis. Our purchaser's solicitors e-mailed a list of enquiries to you and after TWO WEEKS we chased to find the relevant queries had not been made of the landlord. Our son got involved to hurry this along and all they did was e-mail the queries to him! It was only when he contacted them again these queries were actually passed on to the landlords.
They asked for £30 as the landlord's fee to produce this information when we managed to contact the landlord direct, pay by faster payment, and got the information ourselves that afternoon. So much for 21st century technology.
When it came close to the point of exchange we kept being told there were outstanding queries from the vendor's solicitors (also e-zie) but nothing seemed to be done to resolve this.
When the time came to exchange we had a call at 4pm to say it could not happen because we had not signed a disclaimer to say it had authority to act for us and the vendor. Why wasn't this spotted earlier? The next day, again ready to exchange we were told the vendor's solicitors had raised a issue with the deposit and we would have to exchange and complete the following week, on the same day.
Why then, were we somehow able to exchange on the Monday and complete on the Tuesday - if there was an issue with the deposit? Cant help feeling we were just being fed a load of nonsense.
We were being told one story after another.
Finally, after exchange we were told that a sum of £1,638 would be deducted from the final sum to pay the service charge up to March 2016 - but received no document confirming this - again we had to chase three times. I found the service very confusing and very poor.
Don't use Ezie Conveyacing
Whilst Purplebricks were amazing and sold our house in 2 days they recommended we use Ezie Conveyancing. This company is shocking! Find your own solicitor and definitely don't use them. They had a lack of knowledge about Building Control Regs resulting in delays to our house move. 2 members of staff laughed at us when we tried to complain about the service. The financial statement was added up incorrectly so we had to find an extra £1015, 4 hours prior to exchanging. Steer clear of Ezie Conveyancing unless you want a whole load of stress!
