There is admittedly a lot more "hands-on" for the user --- but that's the way it's supposed to be! After purchasing ANY device the transaction is complete. Software companies who smile in your face and say : "Don't worry. Sit back and enjoy the many feature of our complimentary free search engine and browser" - are no longer trustworthy. F-Droid uses no "strong-arm" tactics that attempt to enslave you to their app services. Before, I was being "herded" as cattle. I now enjoy free-range afforded by a completely transparent open source company. F-Droid app store is magnificent.

This application repo comes with some risk attached. You need to understand the issues in device security and make your own assessment. That said using F-Droid - the most commonly used "not under Google control" Android application repo does allow the user to break free from their market control and snooping.

In addition F-Droid will list what might be considered "anti-features"; the things that make a user think twice about installing each application. This might be such things as tracking, adverts, reliance on commercial services, or other potential red flags.

Thanks to this initiative and project. It's a bless that we can manage lot of apps out of the Google and Apple system.
It works as expected in all devices (Android) that I installed.

F-Droid is an absolute godsend. It not only collects and curates open-source projects making it easy to find but you can also share your installed apps with other Android users physically nearby.

F-Droid also plays a very important role towards degoogling your phone. It compliments well with Aurora Store to fully replace Google Play Store. F-Droid let's you search for and install open-source apps and for other apps that's closed-source use Aurora to install without needing to log into your google account.

Definitely deserving of 5-stars IMO.

We all want to live a life focus privacy, with googleplay it isn't very difficult to understand they have so much work to do they let some app avalaible in playstore who are real scams, and they wont refund you if you have some trouble noway...Solution: Just do without google it is possible: Root your mobile: clean all Google, Samsung or others main applications who have administrators or others Awesome rights who have nothing to do in some apps, saddly you dont control any of it, rights are loooked for these apps, I mean use F-Droid the Open source solution, no more rights you do not decide by yourself to give it or not, no more backdoors in some apps, no more or very little malware but doing without in 2022 is nearly impossible...Choose F-droid as you application shop and you will have a great solution for a sefety smartphone...Clean out playstore & google and you'll feel good again using your phone, You will also save much money
