I purchased a Land Rover Discovery 5 from Hamptons of Surrey (trading under Ewshot Sales & Service Ltd, also linked to Fair Price Car Seller Ltd) in 2024.

Since the purchase, the vehicle has developed a series of serious and potentially dangerous faults, including oil contamination in the water system and, most recently, a complete transmission failure which left me stranded on the motorway. These issues strongly suggest the car had underlying mechanical problems at the point of sale.

Despite raising these concerns, the dealership has been dismissive and has offered no meaningful support. I am now in the process of securing an independent mechanical report and taking formal action under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, on the basis that the vehicle is not of satisfactory quality and unfit for purpose.

The businesses involved appear to operate under multiple names, Hamptons of Surrey, Fair Price Car Seller Ltd, and Ewshot Sales, all from the same Farnham site. Buyers should be cautious and ensure they fully understand who they are dealing with, especially if support is needed post-sale.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealer and would strongly advise others to exercise caution.

These are top gentlemen. Wholly open, honest and trustworthy. Chris is a delight to deal with, always friendly and consistently sympathetic when nursing my car back to health. They work quickly, professionally and communicate clearly about my options and what needs to be done. I am always treated like an old friend and they go out of their way to make the whole process as smooth as possible (including picking up my car and dropping it back free of charge). Outstanding service.

I purchased a car from this dealer last November.
I was told there had been 2 previous owners. I've since found out it actually had 6 owners prior to me. I am trying to sell my car and naturally, customers are put off by the number of owners.
There was also an issue with one of the windows where it would not close unless you did it very slowly. They were fully aware of the issue and yet did not offer to fix it for me before purchasing. Just said it was the rubber seal around the window that was the problem and easily fixed.
This is a cowboy company. I would highly advise anyone to go anywhere but here.
The salesman was also very rude, abrupt, not forthcoming with information and clearly isn't trustworthy either. £ signs in their eyes, they clearly don't care about reputation or repeat customers because they lie just to get a quick sale. Good luck to anyone buying a car from them. You'll need it!

Here I am recommending Cris and his team again after my review of their sister company.
They found me a new car and I assumed all my aged battered Vauxhall Meriva was good for was scrap.
But Cris had me drive it over, assessed it and decided he could do better than the £350 scrap price I had been quoted locally.
Sure enough after their commission to get it through MOT and sort the worst bits of bodywork I ended up with £660!

So….my car broke down and I needed a good but reasonable priced replacement for a few weeks while awaiting repairs. I am really inexperienced with car purchases so looked on autotrader where I experienced a lot of dealer that didn’t seem to give a dam if I brought a car of them or not, then I stumbled on Chris and his team.
They gave me a welcoming feeling straight away and nothing seemed to much trouble, from purchasing a car, offering to resell it for me at a later date and even offering to assist with repairs to my normal car if I needed it.
I purchased a lovely Mini in great condition for a very reasonable price that was perfect for a temporary car, when I was done I gave it back and was resold for me very quickly.
I can honestly say they renewed my faith in the car selling market and offered the perfect service.

Cris and his team are a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. In an industry that seems to have a reputation for sharp practices they are honest and fair - trustworthy.

It's a no brainer - they have all the hassle of selling the car - I get more after they have sold than I would have realised if selling privately (and none of the work).

Chris is amazing, honest and treats everyone like family. He follows up after the sale and always has time for questions. It has been a pleasure dealing with Chris. It is not often you meet people in the service industry that go the extra mile and really care. I will most definitely refer Chris to family and friends without hesitation.

Cris sourced a car for me and offered to sell my old car. He went above and beyond to sort out some mechanical issues for a great price, and kept me well updated throughout the sale process. He got a great price for the car. I would highly recommend fair price car seller and Cris. I wish every car sales company was like this one! After Cris helped us purchase a secondhand car through Quality Car Finder we didn’t know what to do with our old car. A ‘well loved’ 14 year old Ford S-Max 7 seater with 150k+ miles on the clock and an ongoing engine malfunction light issue which a local garage hadn’t been able to diagnose. Our initial thought was to scrap and walk away with a few hundred pounds. Cris suggested letting his mechanic take a look first and low and behold he was able to diagnose and fix the engine issue very cheaply. Then after completing an MOT and service Cris did an amazing job tidying up the car, which being ‘well loved’ needed quite a lot of TLC. He touched up the paint work, sourced secondhand replacement parts where needed and gave the car a deep clean valet. All this was done at very reasonable pricing making it still viable to sell the car for a profit. After a few weeks the car looked and ran the best it had in many years and amazingly was now able to be command market retail price. Cris then sold our car within a couple of days of advertising it, overall we doubled what we would have got for scrap and the car was given a new lease of life to serve another owner. We couldn’t have been happier with this outcome and were quite amazed by what Cris achieved. Incredible customer service and attention to detail, if you’re looking to sell a car I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cris and Fair Price Car Seller.

Fair Price Car Seller have sold a car for me personally and also one of our Company cars. Both times the process was really easy, Cris completely took the hassle out of it, he organised an MOT and a couple of things that he recommended doing (only after agreeing them with me first). He sold both cars within 2 weeks and the money was paid promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I very rarely give reviews, and only do when I feel strong enough about a product, service or experience.

When it was time to sell our car, we really didn’t have the time to market the car in what at the time was a very challenging time with COVID. Also, we knew that there would be some work needed to ensure the car was in its best possible state to sell, and again didn’t have time to run around getting quotes and finally getting any work done.

We’d bought our car from Fair Priced Cars, and knowing that they also provided a service of selling cars on behalf of customers was a no-brainier for us. We completely trusted Chris and his team and knew that it would be the best thing for us. Needless to say the car was taken care of and a successful sale was made. Fair Priced Cars are completely transparent about everything they do, and will do what they can to help you sell you car for the best possible price. The trade off from selling on your own was negligible because of the hassle free selling, and because they are also extremely fair with their handling fee. We got an excellent final sale price. I would without any doubt use Fair Priced Cars for our future car sourcing, and can’t highly recommend them enough. They have been a real blessing.
