Paul, Jack and the team were a pleasure to work with. They created a drive for us and we were very happy with the results. The team were very professional, kept to schedule, reasonable cost, and genuinely nice people. We decided to create a second patio at the bottom of our garden. Fangorn had a few years previously re-laid our driveway and main patio - we were pleased with this work and it had lasted very well. We obtained alternative quotes for the new patio, and although Fangorn was not the cheapest, we felt that they understood better what was required, made very helpful suggestions for improvements and were more thorough in assessing levels and slopes for drainage.

The work was started on time. The team worked hard and always started promptly at the same time each morning. They were very friendly and helpful, discussing any small problems that arose and agreeing minor changes. The garden was left tidy at the end of each working day.

We had a problem at one point in that the paving stones that were delivered were not the colour we wanted. This was at least partly my fault in not being clear on the specification, but the main thing is the way that Fangorn handled it. He accepted straightaway that we should have the colour we wanted, so re-ordered the stones of the correct colour. Inevitably, this meant a week's delay in the work, but as soon as the correct stones were delivered, the team started work again the next day.

We were extremely pleased with the final result. The stones were laid very evenly and cut nicely to some curves. The jointing between the stones was very neat and the small brick wall was nicely done.

On completion of the job, the garden was left tidy and all rubbish cleared.

Overall, an excellent job and we would no hesitation in using Fangorn again.

Paul, Jack and the team did an amazing job replacing our old, rotten decking area with a fantastic new patio area. They came up with some great ideas which developed our original concept. The whole team were a pleasure to work with - nothing was ever too much trouble and the end result was amazing. I would have no hesitation in using them again and highly recommend them.

Fangorn Landscapes have done a wonderful job on my difficult grass & concrete garden. They are a creative, hardworking professional & friendly team who will work within your budget. They have created a beautiful garden for me. Unfortunately their aftercare is non-existent and I had to pay electricians to fix problems & mistakes they left with the lighting system

I had Fangorn Landscapes come over for ideas what to do with my severely sloping garden (upwards). They came up with lots of different ideas that I had not thought of and the end result looks amazing. The ideas for a natural looking retaining wall which has given me a massive flat patio space with room for all the family along with a decking area further up the garden. I've used this company before for other garden jobs and have no hesitation in recommending them. All the workmen are friendly, polite and professional and I love that it is a family business. I have now booked them to come back again for a raised decking area at the rear of my garden to give me additional space in the sun!

They really are a hardworking bunch of people who went far beyond my expectations. I would recommend them if you require any of their services as they do an excellent job and listen to customers. The workers are also very polite and easy to talk to.

We had Fangorn Landscapes overhaul our back garden this January. I heard about them through a friend who had their backgarden done over a year ago.

They were quick to respond to my initial email and subsequently a fair quote for the job. I saw that they were a Marshalls accredited, which was great as we wanted their British sandstone paving.

Jack and his team arrived on the planned day and were always available for any questions that me and my other half had (apologies for bothering you so much!). The job looks amazing and I am very happy with the outcome, looking forward to the summer.

We are planning on using Fangorn Landscapes again later this for our driveway.

Fangorn Landscapes had a County Court Judgment issued in February 2019. The judgment was over £4000. The judge instructed us to get a building surveyor to inspect their work. The Surveyor’s report stated the following ‘it is clear the retaining wall has not been built in accordance with good building practices which has resulted in the cracking, blown render and damp manifesting’. ‘There are no weep holes, the aco drain is not connected to a soak away or the drainage’. ‘The damp staining and blown render can be attributed to the porous nature of the thermalite block’.’Remedial work will not be possible and I would recommend that the wall be demolished and rebuilt’.

I took them to Court after they made a bad job on a fence and then the retaining wall rendering started to crack. They quoted to use concrete blocks, instead they used thermalites without my knowledge. Despite several building companies and a qualified Building Surveyor stating they built a retaining wall with thermalites they denied it was a retaining wall. I am not a builder, I can only listen to other builders, the Building Surveyor and what the Court has decided.

The wall now has to be demolished and rebuilt which is going to cost me a lot of money. I was hoping they would do the decent thing and start paying back the court order issued in February but they haven’t.

I can’t praise a Company that has done a bad job and then ignores a Court order to pay me to get their work rectified. Despite all their great reviews and being a Marshall’s Accredited Installer, this should be a good reason to do the decent thing when it has been proved in Court that their work is faulty. They have wronged ME and walked away. In MY personal experience this does not portray a Company that is trustworthy, professional, honest or loyal to a Customer. Shame on you, you are a disgrace!

Employed Paul Fangorn to install Patio in my rear Garden. Have used Paul for 4/5 years was always happy with his work he always came back and remedied any small problems. However on this occasion he went on Holiday and left me with his Son and one other workman to carry out the laying of the stones. I was unable to communicate with his Son when I pointed out a problem he became Hostile.
I did however pay for the work and shortly after installation of the Patio I called Paul back and pointed out to him that some Slabs needed to be relayed. He relayed three or four of the Slabs in question however shortly afterwards more Slabs became loose I tried contacting Paul again without much success. After several months I contacted Check a Trade and they posted my review of the work. Paul was furious with the negative review. He contacted me and said I should have written to him and he would have sorted the matter out. Explained that I had sent numerous emails and made a number of phone calls without success. I initially found Paul on the Marshall's Trusted Trader Site however when I phoned Marshall's I was told they do not display bad (Feed Back!!!!! ) I personally feel that the Trusted Trader Sites need investigation as it gives the Customer false confidence. Have had a number of calls with the Marshall's trusted Trader department they also have spoken with Paul without any success. Will probably end up taking the matter into Court. I cannot understand Paul's reluctance to rectify his bad workmanship. Also I think it is quite sad having used him on several occasions in the past and also having recommended him to other potential clients who appeared quite happy with his work that he is allowing this particular job to blot his previous good work. I realize he did not carry out the work himself however as the owner of the Company he is responsible for the work carried out in his Company Name.
I recently suggested to Paul that if he would consider giving me back the Labour Costs of the project I would employ another Contractor to remedy the bad workmanship. I shall also be writing to the CEO of Marshall,s as I think it is absolutely dreadful that they do not investigate problems by Contractor's advertised on their Trusted Trader's Site especially when their Products are been used.
