I would provide zero stars if possible. A service that misrepresents itself and requests documentation with hoops to jump thru leading the customer to surrender. The documentation I provided was not sufficient. It is a massive scam, even if it's legal.

This is a terrible company and borderline scam artists. I purchased a cabana ticket for a local waterpark located inside of a theme park. The waterpark including the cabanas was closed shortly after we arrived due to inclement weather. Despite filing a claim as they initially claimed that my incident didn't fall under their policy coverage. I followed up by quoting from the policy that they provided where the details of my incident lined up EXACTLY within the description of covered events. I was advised that they would look at it again. I then received another denial that because I couldn't provide any proof the park closed a section of the park that they were denying again. The theme parks don't sent you an email when they close a ride or a section of the park so how are you supposed to prove yourself? They know this so they deny claims and continue to sell their worthless product on the theme park website via the checkout. They refuse to help you over the phone. When you reach out via emails you receive back vague emails denying your claims where you can tell that no one even looked at your last response to their denials. These people should be stopped.

Horrible!!! I was on call for work one weekend, booked the cabana because it gave me the option to pay for this & receive my money back in case I did get called in. I got an email from my supervisor, screen shot it & submitted the claim within minutes of getting it ! They denied the claim & wanted additional proof that I was actually working! Don’t even pay extra for them because they suck

AVOID THIS ORGANIZATION LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I wish I did my research first, like I typically do.
I used Fanshield to protect me for a bike race, which I am 100% unable to attend due to circumstances out of my control.
Fanshild "regrettably" is unable issue a refund. This is by far the worst service I'd ever engaged with, and I hope that my message reaches everyone and anyone who would ever consider using this organization.

They will not issue a refund unless it falls under one of their hyper-specific reasons and you have some sort of proof to back it up. I live 3 hours away from Six Flags and have $70 worth of tickets that can't be used, plus I PAID EXTRA in case I needed them cancelled. We weren't aware concert tickets included admission and I physically cannot make it back there to use them this year. I've been denied several times because my work-related conflict "isn't severe enough" to warrant a refund on their end. All the help(a)fanshield.com email does is jerk you around and comes up with excuses to deny your claim. I'm so p!ssed off I didn't look into Fanshield before I bought their "protection" because it looks like all they do is screw people over despite promising easy refunds. Six Flags needs to stop offering this as an option during checkout because it's just a greedy company holding people's money over their heads. Any positive review on here has got to be botted because there's no way anyone has had a pleasant experience with this shady company.
TL;DR Fanshield thrives on taking advantage of people by denying as many claims as possible, avoid them like the plague

I bought FanShield insurance for my Six Flags tickets, expecting coverage if bad weather ruined my plans. The park closed due to weather, but FanShield refused to refund my tickets. Their “coverage” is useless when you actually need it. Complete waste of money — will never trust them again.

I bought FunShield Insurance thinking it would protect my trip to Six Flags, but when I needed to file a claim, they completely ignored me. They never reimbursed me, and to make things worse, the staff at Six Flags had never even heard of this company. It seems like they’re falsely associating themselves with Six Flags to gain trust. Don’t waste your money — you’re better off without this so-called “insurance.” Total fraud.

Bought the refund protection coverage with FanShield, for tickets to Six Flags over Georgia. Due to bad weather, thunderstorms and Flood Warning in Austell, GA (six flags area) I did not assist. Showed proof of weather and flood warning in the area, FanShield says I do not apply for refund; what a SCAM

I purchased the insurance for 6 flags tickets which for road closures and thunderstorms we weren't able to attend I've provided several documents supporting the claim and I'm getting pushback from them saying it's not enough I regret purchasing this insurance what a scam!!!!!

I am completely done reserving scooters from Kings island through fanshield. I reserved it for this sat, while having a day off just to visit the Park for few hours with my parents but I was requested to come to work after 2 managers in pizza shop quit so I basically lost my money to this scamming insurance even I screenshot my schedule to show proof!

I bought the insurance for six flags great America which is an amusement park. The weather had severe rain and thunderstorms in which i provided proof with weather reports and said the park closes down the rides during this type of weather. I figured this was common sense as to why I wanted the refund yet Fanshield still refused to give me a refund??? What a scam dont use this

I wish I had read these reviews prior to buying the insurance. We were traveling to Detroit for a Tigers game from New Jersey. My husband lost his job a week before and fell into a deep depression. He ended up being hospitalized before we left for our trip. My son was going to try to sell the tickets but I remembered that I had purchased the insurance. fan shield did not accept this as a good enough reason for a refund. They are getting rich off of innocent people. They will deny any and every reason for refund requests. I would have given 0 stars but I had to put one. Typical insurance sheisters. How do they sleep at night knowing they are deliberately ripping off people?

Absolute scam. The coverage is so narrow and specifically worded that they always have an out. You have to "prove" your emergency by uploading identifying information or a doctor's note like this was grade school. They will deny coverage at their earliest convenience and stall so that you can't even attempt to resell the tickets to recoup your losses.
There is no contact number that they will provide and email correspondence takes days at best. I learned my lesson, this company is a nightmare.

They said that illness was covered, but only if you go to the doctor, which would cost additional money. That would exceed the amount spent on the ticket, just to prove that my son has diarrhea.

My husband purchased protection just in case because we have been having issues with her vehicles. But he actually popped up sick the day he had reserved for his ticket. He has been trying to get a refund ever since. And that was three weeks ago. They keep giving him to run around about his refund. They are literally saying that if you weren’t sick enough to go to the doctors and have a doctors note that they will not refund the money. As a person who worked in fraud for years, this company is definitely a scam.

This is a scam. They do not refund your money! They provide every reason not to give it to you.

I purchased event insurance expecting peace of mind in case something went wrong. Unfortunately, my car’s alternator failed 32 hours before the event, making it impossible to attend. I maintain my older vehicle myself because no local shops will work on it, and I offered to provide proof of the alternator purchase or any documentation they required.
Despite this, they denied my claim, stating I didn’t have “proper documentation.” They were unwilling to work with me, even after I clearly explained the situation. It feels like the entire policy is designed to take your money without providing real support when you need it.
In my opinion, this company is predatory and dishonest. I strongly urge others to avoid Fanshield. If you’re counting on them to cover you in an emergency, don’t – they’ll find any excuse not to. It’s disappointing companies like this continue to operate under the guise of helping people while doing the exact opposite.

Please don't waste your money on fanshield. They will find every reason to not refund you and you'll waste more money. This company is a scam and is in the business of ripping off people trying to make it by and have an unfortunate event happen that is supposedly "covered" and they'll deem it not urgent enough.

I am in the process of requesting a refund for a cabana rental at Dorney Park scheduled for this past Saturday. I was unable to attend due to my partner being hospitalized prior to the event. They are requesting proof of examination. Is that not violating the HIPAA Law????? All of this just to receive a refund?
