Farcroft were used by my insurance…

Farcroft were used by my insurance company after an extensive fire damaged many household items including things that had been in the family for over a century. There were many sentimentally significant items to be cleaned and restored. One of a pair of vases that were my grandparents wedding present in 1897 arrived back broken and still black with soot. This happened either in transit or on unpacking. I complained and they said they would mend it if I sent it back…. why not admit they had broken it- the edges were clean so definitely didn’t happen in the fire… and clean and restore it? The toys were beautifully restored. The dolls house came back damaged . Large pieces of Victorian furniture still smelled strongly of smoke and on cleaning them again after they returned them it was evident there was still an awful lot of black that hadn’t been removed that obviously left the smell. They asked what colour replaced upholstery I wanted but this was completely ignored and things came back with the original colours replicated. . A Victorian blanket chest had its lid removed to upholster ; it was replaced using Philips screws not the original brass ones . One large silver coloured urn that wasn’t real silver was just returned blackened-it cleaned up easily in the kitchen sink. A Victorian desk had a marble top . The wooden part of the desk was returned but not the top. Eventually, they told me it was chipped… I said send a photo-if it’s small at the back it won’t matter. A while later a photo came through… the top was in at least seven smashed pieces. About 9 months later someone came to measure for a new top- obviously had no idea how to do this to describe the curves etc. Another 6-9 months later no marble appears and my insurer asks if I can sort out anew piece myself, This was achieved in about three weeks. The guys who moved and returned all the items were extremely careful but the process was very hit and miss and wish I’d taken more things to clean myself as I could have done the job without breaking things; everything I moved by car survived intact. Some of the staff were helpful but the people in charge need to check people’s items are looked after properly and the things returned are actually in the best condition possible and any breakages are admitted to quickly and dealt with appropriately. This experience has been a long way from the glossy brochure… nearly three years later thankfully I won’t have to deal with them again.

If you want skilled care and decent communication look elsewhere!

If only we'd read some of these reviews before our home insurers decided to use Farcroft to repair the damaged floor in our house! The only positive thing we can say is that the main tradesman sent from Farcroft was very nice. Unfortunately he was not a floor layer!

Farcroft are based about 150 miles from our home, so it would be mid-morning before their man could get to us, and then he'd be rushing to finish in time to get home. We were never 100% sure if anyone was coming on any particular day, and communication from Farcroft was almost non-existent.

When things were patently not right - damaged skirting boards, botched filling, gaps under skirting boards - Farcroft showed their true, disingenuous if not downright dishonest colours. We were promised their specialist flooring team would come and put everything right - but the night before, the necessary materials hadn't been delivered, then the team were on holiday, and when the long-awaited day came that they were (we were assured) coming we opened the door to...a local tradesman who Farcroft had contracted!

It's taken months of stress and upheaval to get to a position where we had a floor again - now it has to be taken up again, to be properly laid by another company!

If you are offered this useless crowd when you need work done in your home please ask again - you will not receive care, skill or proper communication, and you will end up stressed and unhappy, like us.

⭐ 1 Star

⭐ 1 Star – Broken promises, unpaid invoices

Farcroft Group have still not paid my overdue invoice, despite repeatedly promising they would — including a specific commitment to pay today, which they failed to keep. I have since discovered they also haven’t paid their agency staff. This is clearly a pattern of behaviour, not a one-off. Poor communication, no accountability, and no integrity. I would strongly advise avoiding this company.

What a Horrible Experience!

Horrible Service! Working with them on an insurance job was a frustrating experience. Poor management and lack of communication made things really really difficult, and I was sent to sites I couldn't even access. Terrible! Despite prioritizing their job, I wasn't paid, and in the end, even the customers lost trust and went elsewhere. The whole process was a mess. I wouldn't recommend them! You'll likely be disappointed. You have been warned.

Incompetent chopsticks

I was overjoyed when Farcroft were employed by Axa to remedy a subsidence issue in my apartment. The website looks great and they seemed like a great premium option to carry out my 12 week job. It took me a week to get hold of the project manager and he was extremely elusive and unresponsive to my messages and emails. Then – for two weeks I heard nothing. I was informed via third-party that he had in fact been sacked. Two weeks later I’ve got an extremely aggressive phone call from Jade who offered ZERO apology and said I needed to be patient. After a couple of emails, I never heard from her again. The workmen dispatched by Farcroft arrived late and left early achieving little in between. I was sent some nice photos that showed the decking had been reinstated but nothing has been done about the huge holes in the wall and the plan was to slap some plaster on them. My next door neighbour commissioned a structural engineer who laughed at this as solution and said that movement joints were required to stabilise the property. A few more weeks passed with little communication, then I was informed that Farcroft had been sacked from the project. So – it’s been six months since my first Farcroft contact, a new contractor has been employed that will have to rip up the decking and a few other bits and pieces they did and I’m back to square one. what a bunch of incompetent chopsticks. AVOID!!!!!

Catastrophic Damage Caused by Farcroft, Both Professionally and Personally – Stay Far Away

I don't even know where to start, because my experience with Farcroft was a complete nightmare from start to finish. I worked there for a while, and the level of incompetence and dishonesty was absolutely staggering—it's no wonder this place has such a long history of negative reviews.

The damage caused by Farcroft to my professional and personal life is indescribable. From day one, I saw firsthand how their management operates—not just poor leadership, but downright deviousness. What should have been simple, straightforward work quickly became a never-ending disaster. Farcroft constantly lied to me, to clients, and to suppliers, and they had a complete disregard for basic decency or responsibility.

One of the worst things I experienced was the constant manipulation from upper management. I was expected to cover for mistakes, work in an environment where employees were treated like expendable pawns, and deal with unrealistic demands and broken promises at every turn. They demonized anyone who dared to question their approach, and I was forced to constantly walk on eggshells. Farcroft doesn't value talent, dedication, or loyalty—they value control and money.

This toxic environment wasn't just limited to staff—it spilled over into how they handled clients. Farcroft routinely overpromised and underdelivered, and when things inevitably went wrong, they washed their hands of the situation, leaving employees and customers to pick up the pieces. The impact on the people caught in their web was devastating.

I also witnessed how Farcroft shamelessly abused their position when it came to subcontractors and other partners. They would lie to everyone to maintain their image and constantly push blame onto others. If something went wrong (which is always the case), Farcroft would blame anyone except themselves and leave the real work to others, all while claiming credit for it.

If you're considering working here or trusting them with any project—don’t. If you’re someone who’s already been affected, I can’t stress enough how much it helps to share your experience and help others avoid the same fate. This company is a master at hiding behind false 5-star reviews and shiny marketing, but trust me, it’s all a façade.

No matter what promises they make, working for or with Farcroft will cost you more than just time or money—it will take a serious toll on your mental health, your professional reputation, and your trust in others.

Do yourself a favor—stay far, far away from Farcroft. Trust the negative reviews—they're the only honest ones. Also, be sure to check Glassdoor and Google for real feedback—only trust the negative reviews there too.

Catastrophic damage caused by Farcroft to a lightly managed painting

I can't even start to describe how poor Farcroft have been on a matter relating to a painting restoration. They demonstrated incompetence and deviousness at every level for more than 3y. It's absolutely staggering how a simple job could have been messed up so badly. Rather than restore it, Farcroft caused catastrophic damage to our treasured painting. And are cunningly looking at ways to wash their hands off this. No morals, whatsoever.

I would not advise anyone to use Farcroft.

Absolutely awful experience working for…

Absolutely awful experience working for them on an insurance job, no management skills, no communication, sending us to jobs we can’t get into, not paid a penny despite dropping everything for them to push the job on when needed, I think the customers at the end used someone else and lost faith in them too so nobody got paid, complete shambles from start to finish, do not use this group as you will definitely be disappointed, you have been warned..

Terrible service!

Terrible service!

On 7 February 2022 Burke & Wills dropped an expensive sideboard and broke the legs.

Burke & Wills pass you along to deal with the insurer, International Claims Agency, ICA and wash their hands of the matter.

ICA then passes you along and request that you deal with their restorer, Farcroft Group.

On 14 March 2022 I called Farcroft Group and they had not started any works because Burke & Wills had not even delivered the sideboard to them.

Two weeks thereafter Farcroft Group receives the sideboard but do not have the parts to commence work. They promised to provide me with the technical specifications of the parts so as to ensure it matches that of the original. I am still waiting for their email.

It is now over two months since the damage was caused and I have still not received the sideboard nor can anyone provide an indication as to when I might receive the item.
