Access Broadband Cymru This scheme provides grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of new broadband connections for homes and businesses in Wales. It does not include monthly rental costs. New connections through this scheme must deliver a step change in speed - with at least double your current download speeds eg a current connection of 10Mbps must improve to at least 20Mbps. The amount of funding you can receive depends on the speed of the new connection: £400 for 10Mbps and above £800 for 30Mbps and above Applying for the grant Check eligibility – details can be found in the ‘Eligibility criteria and scheme conditions’ in the document downloads. Carefully consider what speed connection your home or business requires today and over the next 12 months. Contact Fast WIFI Wales as your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Sign the application form sent to you from us. You can fill in the form electronically and return it by email to Broadband@gov.wales Send your application for approval along with a quote from your chosen ISP to broadband@gov.wales. Please note that due to the pandemic we are currently unable to accept applications by post. If approved, you will receive an offer letter. You can then contact us to install your superfast broadband equipment. Once installed and the new speeds have been confirmed funding can be released on your behalf. Be carful what you sign with this…

Be carful what you sign with this company electronically
Do not trust them there service is very poor our broad band did not work we now have starlink installled which is brilliant but this company tricked my wife in to a contract with ee which is proving a problem. To cancel it seems like we are in a 24 or 36 month contract with ee despite ee’s technical department telling us that their B road band service would not work at our property they will not release us from a contract that my wife had signed electronically. She signed one document that she was told was for the funding from the Welsh Government but somehow her signature was applied to a contract with ee and a speed test of 50+ Mbps which was never achieved. Ee said we would be lucky to get 8 Mbps in our location. The monthly cost through ee was just over £44 per month so if that was a good service why would we go to starlink and pay £75 per month. Mr Goldsworthy, the current director of Fast Wi-Fi Wales, has tried to have this review removed from Trustpilot saying it is not a genuine review. We have reported them to Ofcom and trading standards and the Welsh government. This review is a honest and truthful account of how we have been treated.

Great service!

Received a letter from Fast WiFi Wales on Tuesday, filled the contact form and received a call back that day. Applied for the Welsh government grant that afternoon and was accepted the same day. Had the equipment fitted within 3 days (my choice could have been sooner) by an extremely courteous and helpful engineer and had my internet back within 2hours at a dramatically higher speed- what’s not to like!

Beware of this Company

Treat this company with extreme caution. Promised a call back from the managing director on several occasions but no call up until today (4 days later) after sending an email. He was obnoxious and rude and would not let me explain the problems we were having and kept talking over me. The system was installed under the Welsh Government Grant several months ago and has been erratic since installation. The system was mis sold. We were promised between 20 and 30 mps and we are averaging around the 7 mps. Last night it was 2.6!! This company has no customer skills. They do not return calls and when they do they lie. If you get slightly irate they terminate the call and withdraw support. Basically they have had their payment from the Welsh Government for something that does not work. Even EE have told us that their promised speeds are unachievable. I urge anyone who has had this system installed under the government grant to let the government know that it is being mis sold. Avoid this company like the plague. Their aftercare service is rubbish.

Hello

And thankyou for taking the time to write this review.

I appreciate your feedback and we are focussed on customer satisfaction.

As discussed your issues lay with the service outage with EE in your area as it states on their website, not with our equipment.

We will however terminate any contract where customers feel they can be aggressive and insulting to staff. This is a policy I strongly believe in and will uphold after listening to how you treat my staff and indeed shouting/insulting myself.

I am sorry we were unable to meet your expectations and I wish you all the best with the next company who can satisfy your needs.

Kind regards

Fast WIFI Wales…

Since Fast WIFI Wales have installed their equipment, both my download and upload speeds have increased dramatically. They do slow a little at evening times but I am on the 4G network.
Super company and a big thank you to Berry Williams and Malcolm the engineer

My household has had no internet since…

My household has had no internet since Christmas Eve, the company was closed until yesterday so we waited patiently till then, when we rang up we was told we had to sign a form before they could send anyone out to fix issues but the form states we could be liable to pay a call out charge. When I phoned back up and asked for it to be sorted sooner I was told there was no engineer to come and fix it and can not book appointment until I sign form which could possibly cost me more money, I already pay £48 a month for a slow internet service I find it very unfair I should be charged for someone to fix the problem and the fact I’ve been without internet service all over the Christmas holidays with 3 kids is just wrong. I asked for a manager to call me back but never did.

Hello,

I have tried to give you a call to discuss both yesterday and today with no luck,

Unfortunately without the call out agreement being signed we can not allocate you an engineer visit.

Looking at our records we have made several visits over the time you have been with us, none of which have been at fault from Fast Wifi Wales.

Issues on your file are as follows,

Billing issues resulting in EE terminating service (We did not charge for this call out)
No power to the equipment (switched off) (We did not charge for this call out)
The last of our visits we found no issues. (We did not charge for this call out)

I have been monitoring emails over the Christmas period and you have not been in touch. We are not a 24x7 operation and our staff have families that they would like to be with over the holiday period.

We have a zero tolerance policy on rude and aggressive customers towards staff, to that end, after listening to your calls with our team - our service plan to you has now been terminated.

Many thanks

Greenacres Holiday Park

Hi I live in caravan - Greenacres holiday park. They are due to come out do a test , and fit equipment in my caravan. I don’t get a grant so this is quite expensive for myself and to have a contract on top. I will keep you guys updated with the service I receive. Please ignore the stars as not relevant at this moment in time

We live in a very rural area

We live in a very rural area. Broadband is virtually non-existent. BT wants £8000 to run fibre 250 metres across a field to our house. Just not viable.
We have been using MiFi with limited results. Reception is hit and miss and downloading and watching films is impossible.
Fast WiFi have changed all that. Internet is now responsive and we are able to watch Netflix. Initial problems were traced down to a defective transmitter lately. Fitting was quick, painless and unobtrusive. All the team are friendly and helpful.
To conclude, if you have little or no Broadband. call Fast Wifi. They can carry out a survey and let you know whether they can help. And remember. All the costs are covered by a grant and you pay absolutely nothing.
What have you got to lose??

Excellent!

We have a remote site that needed a stable and fast inter connection. Having been a BT Fibre customer for 2 years with appauling speeds, terrible customer service, and a waste of money, we decided to speak to Fast Wifi Wales who from start to finish provided an excellent service. We now have stable connections, excellent speed and for almost half of what we paid BT for the service. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous service

We contacted the company as we were desperate too get consistent wi fi in our holiday home we had used 3 mobile which was good at first then went rubbish we have phone contracts with EE so we we offered an unlimited SIM card which we placed in a to link only too find out that this service wasn’t truly unlimited and was capped so we’re offered a home mobile hub which was dearer but assured that this was in fact truly unlimited but also found out that this was capped as we ran out of data we spoke with Georgia who was extremely helpful she arranged and installation and the engineer turned up exactly as agreed the installation was done quickly and efficiently and we now at last have a reliable truly unlimited wi fi service that in fact is cheaper than EE direct. There was a cost for the aerial and installation but compared too another company was considerably cheaper for my family keeping mum dad and the kids all happy keeps our happy place happy Thankyou guys
