Fredefick Charles disappearance

Started investing in Frederick Charles fine art 2018 with promises to make 14% profit in two years, then along comes Covid with all the excuses about not been able to sell due to shutdown, made further investment over the years again with further promises of good profits. Finally I was badgered to purchase 2 more paintings of selected artist so as to put 8 paintings into a sale, two weeks later I was notified that they had gone bust without no notification of the last 2 paintings and furthermore £2400 light, surely this is fraud.
Of all the paintings I have purchased I have not received any letters of provenance so is going to be very difficult to sell any of this artwork since there is no proof I am the rightful owner. I have been sending emails and making telephone calls without any replies. I don’t know if I’m the biggest mug or they are just a set of deceitful con men. Anyone know where the owner is.

Artwork gone missing

FCA have lost 3 out of 10 artworks that my late father purchased - some of the most expensive ones. Only through being part of the 'Frederick Charles Art Group Action' group on Facebook have I come to learn that other people have received letters saying that FCA will charge £50 per month for storage costs and sell people's items to pay for unpaid storage costs. I never received this letter and attempts at calling and emailing fca have proved fruitless. I have no idea where the items are and what FCA are doing to find them. Have they been stolen? They recommended using a courier company called Astonmill but they have quoted ridiculous figures for couriering to other members - around £1k. Extortion. Anyone in the same boat please join our group on Facebook and report them to the police.

Action Fraud. Police. Facebook FCA Group Action Page

If you have a complaint / bad experience or even a feeling that something is not quite right with your dealings with Frederick Charles Art, (FCA), then please contact Action Fraud, the police, or both, as I have done. You may also wish to join the Facebook Page called "Frederick Charles Art -Group Action Page" : (Refer CU customer post below for more details.) I have been promised various returns for some of my artwork by (FCA) but the same (FCA) have not managed to sell 1 of my entire portfolio during the 7 and a half years I have been with them. 1 of my pieces is also missing and (FCA have known about this since the 11 December 2023 and have done absolutely nothing to locate it). They prefer to blame others for it being lost without any proof being offered to back it up. If enough complaints and / or evidence is not received from (FCA) investors then the Crown Prosecution Service, (CPS), may not be able to recommend an investigation proceeds. I also suggest that you independently get your artwork valued. Once you have this current value information and compare it with your original cost to (FCA), you should then be able to decide if a complaint is justified. Acting swiftly to the Police or Action Fraud will enable an investigation to commence sooner rather than later.

Fiasco

Spoke with Frederick Charles Art today. They confirmed their artwork has been or is being returned from storage. With only a skeleton staff they are trying to process this in a timely fashion. Hopefully this fiasco will be sorted asap

Improper custodians.

This company has held my artwork in storage (for an annual fee) for the past five years. Recently received a letter from them advising of their imminent entry into administration. They no longer answer their phones or respond to e-mail, the company they used for storage have returned all artworks back to them.!!! I believe something untoward and perhaps fraudulent is now taking place. Please do not deal with them under any circumstances.

Unhappy with Fredrick Charles Art

Unfortunately I purchased 4 works of art from this company in 2017/2018 I guess at an over inflated price. Held on to them for their recommended time of 3/5 years. I wish to sell my art investment but I keep contacting them but the dealer is always busy and receptionist says he will get back to me and he never does. DO NOT purchase any art off this company unless you know your art😡😡

Beware the art market

I bought 5 art works through Frederick Charles, tempted by the optimistic profit forecasts at a time of very low interest rates for savers. It became clear after Covid that the company had little interest in selling my pieces so I was forced to withdraw them and try auctions. I have made a substantial loss by doing so, especially in one case where it is clear I was hugely overcharged when I bought it.
Although there are staff who actually care the company seems primarily interested in pressurising punters into purchases by quoting selected and favourable performance figures and then forgetting about us.
Don't waste your money and don't venture into it unless you know more about art than I did.
