2 failed pick up collections from Fedex

Absolutely terrible experience with FedEx. I booked a parcel collection for 13 May through their website, and nobody came. Afterwards, their system would not even let me properly manage or rebook the collection because it kept saying a collection was already booked. Completely broken system.

I then called customer service and was told they supposedly could not even see my original booking, which is ridiculous. They booked another collection for me today between 3–4 p.m. Again, nobody came.

Trying to contact them afterwards was another nightmare. Their automated system makes it nearly impossible to speak to a real person, and the robot system even falsely claimed that the parcel had already been collected between 2–3 p.m. — despite the fact that:
1. The booked slot was actually 3–4 p.m.
2. The parcel was still sitting in my house because nobody ever came.

Two failed collections, conflicting information, inaccessible customer support, and false updates. Easily one of the worst courier experiences I have had with any company. DHL has never operated like this.

FedEx seriously needs to fix its customer service and collection system because this level of incompetence is unacceptable.

Terrible Service

Valuable (> £500) product left unattended on my doorstep by FedEx, with no attempt to ensure it was handed over securely or note left for re-delivery. The only reason this wasn’t stolen was pure luck.

For a company trusted with valuable deliveries, the complete lack of duty of care shown here is staggering. It genuinely makes me question what standards FedEx applies when hiring and training drivers. Is customer trust and accountability even part of the process anymore, or is the focus simply on moving parcels as fast as possible while businesses absorb the reputational and financial damage when things go wrong?

This wasn’t just poor service — it was negligent. A delivery company’s responsibility does not end the moment a parcel touches the ground outside someone’s house.

I would never trust FedEx again with anything of value. Awful experience.

Come on Fed-Ex teach your couriers to recognise a doorbell.

My son had a parcel due to be delivered between 8:30 am and mid-day today. As it was quite expensive my husband waited in. By 12:30pm he sent our son a text to say any update on the ETA?"
The reply was it was delivered at 9:15am. The delivery had been stealth-like not a sound, not a knock or a door bell ring before he scarpered - nothing !! The parcel was left on the doorstep in the rain for over 3 hours just because Fed-Ex have nottrained their drivers to recognise what a doorbell looks like. The worse thing is that we have a permanently open porch for deliveries.
My husband wasted 3 hours of his day just because the delivery driver could not be othered to raise his hand a few inches and ring the bell. How totally lazy!!!
All the other couriers ring the bell, its only Fed-Ex that can not be bothered

Total lie

Total lie, customer not available. We live on a main road, driver probably drove on by to make up time. No one banged on our door all I received was a message to say “we were unable to deliver your package”. Doesn’t matter that we took time off work to receive this parcel and we need to wait until sometime never for a repeat performance. Customer service very bland, “we will pass on your details” no resolution offered. Unable to contact depot as they hide behind this automated system. Also unable to check for delivery options as the system cannot retrieve anything at the moment.

FedEx failure and no customer service between 6pm and 8am

FedEx I paid a premium to have a product shipped to me next day, I need it for my days work tomorrow and it has not arrived. I have checked the tracker and although it was out for delivery today it never made it. It is now out for delivery tomorrow before 6pm. I will lose a days work as a result, I am happy to go and collect from your Newcastle Under Lyme hub in the morning but cannot contact anyone who can action this until 0800 when your customer service team opens again by which time it will be out on the road again!!!!!!! Really poor service, I paid a premium, you failed and created the problem, and have no way contacting you to solve it

Useless

Driver "attempted delivery" on friday and over a week later with multiple phone calls and broken promises that it was going to be delivered the next day this depot kept changing the item to be collected which is over 40mins away from me. Over 12 days later customer services escalated the issue and is still not resolved. Luckily the company I ordered from are now sending out a new parcel.

Fedex: avoid as their online help is awful.

Ordered a kettle and toaster online from Currys. Fedex were meant to deliver by 6pm three days ago. Package never arrived and no update on Fedex tracking system. The package was then reschduled to arrive today by 1pm. This again, never happened and Fedex tracking now says it should be here by 6pm. I am now sitting again waiting and their online tracking system is absolutely no help at all. Never again shall I buy from Currys online due to the appalling service by Fedex.

Worst Delivery Company EVER!

This company has to be the worst and most incompetent delivery company in the UK.

I’ve been at home all day, and I now get a email from FedEx at 17:00hrs that they tried to deliver and I wasn’t available. HOW EXACTLY!? They didn’t even make an attempt to deliver.

I should’ve checked the retailer’s website properly to check which courier they used.

On the tracking details in the app, a photo is shown of a road near my address but not the actual location of my building as proof of attempted delivery.

Every time, it’s the same old story with FedEx. Other delivery companies don’t seem to have this issue, but FedEx are in a league of their own when it comes to how incompetent they are as a delivery company.

Going forward, I’m going to start boycotting any companies or retailers that insist on using this shambles of an outfit for deliveries.

Terrible service, definitely wont use again unreliable and really slow moving through the network. Just leave parcels at depo's for days and 3 failed delivery dates, absolute time wasters. Completely clueless and incompetent company, 1 star is generous for this joke of a courier company.

Fedex Redefine Awful!

In the past four weeks, I have ordered products from two different companies, both of whom use Fedex as their courier service. On both occasions, the items failed to arrive on the day scheduled. Or the next day. Or the day after that. On one occasion, the retailer kindly offered to have one of their stores deliver a replacement personally, when Fedex told them directly that they could not specify a day or date of arrival. Both times, the items first arrive at what I'm assuming is a Fedex hub and this shows by clicking on the tracking number. What happens next is, well, nothing. It just sits there. The day of scheduled delivery on both occasions came and went and, when I clicked on the link, it still stated that the delivery would take place on a date and time window now well in the past. This is real ‘through the looking glass’ territory and utterly surreal. Adding to the gob-smacking ineptitude and avoidance is the fact that the customer service ‘help’ line is 100% AI generated so no real reps are available, which is rubbish but also a bit creepy. Imagine what really bad service looks like, double it, multiply by a hundred, give it steroids and send it nuclear and then - and only then - will you get some idea of how bad Fedex is.
And to think, it took less time for the item to travel from Turkey to the UK than it has taken for it to travel fifty miles from Kingsbury to Stoke! I'll leave that there.

Totally Impressed

I live in the UK, and I ordered a package at 19:39 on Friday from America and it arrived at 10:15 Monday morning! It was coming from western Utah to London. Not from the east coast. UTAH. That is almost 5000 miles away! I am gobsmacked!

AND, that included a delay (which apparently wasn't much of a delay) at customs. I received a text saying I owed import duties (exorbitant! But that's an issue to be taken up with His Majesty). I thought, oh no, this is going to take many extra days to sort out. But no. I paid the taxes right away, and the process, obviously, continued on swimmingly. Amazing.

It has taken longer to receive items (with other couriers) from here in the UK! And the package is in pristine condition! I am SO impressed.

FedEx don't mess about, do they? Well done!

FedEx earns around $75 billion a year…

FedEx earns around $75 billion a year and is ranked among the top 2–3 delivery companies in the world, yet they still cannot get their act together enough to respond properly to customers. The level of customer service and management is absolutely appalling and honestly shocking for a company of this size.

I complained over a year ago and was told somebody would call me back. I am still waiting. Not a single person seems to take ownership or responsibility or gives flying fudge. You cannot even find anyone who appears to actually manage operations properly.

What makes it worse is that the huge number of negative reviews online clearly reflects that this is not an isolated issue. The same complaints appear again and again — poor communication, ignored complaints, lack of accountability, delayed responses, and customers being passed from one person to another with no resolution.

For a global company with this level of revenue, the communication and customer care are completely unacceptable. Absolutely disgusting. Period.

AI NON customer service agent hangs up on me

The FEDEX person did not leave my package. They left a note that someone had to be at my office. I get deliveries left here everyday. I can only be here a certain days & time when I call to schedule a drop off. I call FEDEX and reach an AI customer non service member (that can't understand anything I say), I request an agent several times then after 5 minutes of going around and around the AI agent it hangs up on me. Why can't I just get my package like I always do and speak to a real person when I call to schedule a time to get my package. I doubt this will do any good except make me feel a little better.

First and hopefully last experience with this diabolical delivery service. Completely useless.
First email stating date of initial delivery for 07/05/26 - I knew I wasn’t going to be home so tried to ‘manage my delivery’ - however, no options available to redirect. So had to allow a first failed delivery.

Then, I was able to manage my delivery - which I’d stated to leave package by bins on front drive. Next day, driver arrived, ignored my message. Second failed delivery.

Then I received 3 emails to state my delivery would after on Saturday 9th, Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th.
No way to contact anybody directly to resolve and clarify what day it’s supposed to arrive. So chances are package will be failed again and kept at FedEx location.

Pathetic excuse from a world famous delivery service. Have better delivery and communications from Just Eat drivers (genuinely, always great!)

Absolutely the worst delivery company!!

Absolutely the worst delivery company I have ever been unfortunate enough to use, Hermes and Evri take more care with parcels then these delivery drivers.

Firstly I was told my item was to be delivered yesterday and it was a failed attempt absolutely not true, I was home all day yesterday no one called at my home no one rang or knocked in my door.

My item was chucked up my pathway today not only smashing the box but also the contents, my item was 5ltrs of isotope alcohol that leaked everywhere by the time I got the door the driver was in his van speeding off without a care in the world, lucky I caught everything on my doorbell camera.

It was packed well in four layers of thick bubble wrap inside a cardboard box, the amount of abuse and force the parcel sustained on it's journey and delivery unfortunately this didn't protect the item inside.

I have had contact the seller on eBay and I will have to leave negative feedback because of the courier company used also claim a full refund, that I am sure the seller will claim back the cost from FedEx UK.

I used to check to see what courier company the sellers used, looks like I will have to start doing that again because I will refuse to order if they use FedEx UK, there is always plenty of sellers I will use one that doesn't use FedEx UK.

This company should be ashamed of itself, I can't believe in 2026 that employees care so little about not only their job but the items in their care.
