Run away from them!

After being involved with this gym on and off in the last eight years, my final experience was extremely negative and unacceptable.

I experienced repeated hostility, exclusion, and unprofessional conduct from staff and coaches. Communication was poor, concerns were dismissed, and situations were escalated instead of handled professionally.

Based on my direct experience:

Felipe (Head Coach, BJJ) – dismissive and confrontational when issues were raised, and failed to address serious concerns escalated to him

Robert (Manager) – aggressive and verbally abusive during our last interaction, ultimately excluding me from the gym in a hostile manner rather than through any clear or fair process

Henning (Staff) – accused me of sneaking into a class despite me having explicitly asked for and received permission from the main coach

Michelle (Staff) – denied me entry to the gym, shouted at me, and threatened to remove me from the premises in an intimidating and unprofessional way

Philip (Coach) – consistently unfriendly during training, with push-back behavior that made the training environment uncomfortable

I was also subjected to hostile and threatening messages from other members on Instagram. I sent the full conversation to the head coach expecting support or at least neutral handling. Instead, the situation was reframed as if I were at fault, and I was warned not to “cause problems” at the gym rather than having the behavior addressed. This felt dismissive and unsafe.

In the past, I also observed how the gym handled a serious internal conflict involving a former coach. Rather than following a transparent or balanced process, the situation was publicly addressed on social media by Darina (coach) in a way that appeared one-sided and shaming, without allowing room for response or due process. Regardless of the underlying issue, this approach contributed to what I experienced as a toxic and unsafe culture, where public blame replaced professional conflict handling.

Despite paying for an expensive “unlimited” membership, access to classes was frequently restricted due to capacity limits, making the offer misleading in practice. Questioning this repeatedly led to negative reactions.

My final interaction ended with verbal abuse and exclusion, justified through personal attacks rather than transparent rules or fair treatment. After years of loyalty, this was shocking.

In my experience, this gym prioritizes control, image, and contracts over transparency, accountability, and respectful treatment. I strongly advise potential members to proceed with caution and consider gyms with healthier communication and professional standards.
