These are straight up criminals

Signed up, site was down for a long time then they came back attempting to make charges. They were double charging me license fees. I canceled again and they continued to charge. I'm owed several refunds, five I believe, and they have given one. This company is beyond shady, they're criminals. They refuse to answer an emails, support chats, or direct messages, which also makes them childish.

They have also blocked all attempts of my contacting them on their message board. I am not allowed to post about my situation, this prevents others from seeing what what current and former users are experiencing regarding billing. They're blocking the posts that are complaints to make it seem like everything is all good. Playing with credit card information and processing unauthorized charged in this manner is all kinds of illegal. It's only a matter of time until they get what they deserve, I just hope somehow some way those who have been taken advantage of by this company will be able to recoup what has been lost, no matter the amount. What a deplorable bunch of humans.

UPDATE: It has been three weeks, Martin has not provided refunds, nor answered my email, and is still attempting to charge me. As previously mentioned...straight up criminals.

He also bans people attempting to get refunds or review his service within the festinger community on reddit. Truly a small,descpicable,and pathetic man.

We went through a chaotic period of system migrations that unfortunately caused billing duplication and some accounts to stay active even after users canceled. That was a massive failure on our end, not intentional, but unacceptable nonetheless. I also want to clarify that no one is ever deliberately blocked for sharing complaints; we only restrict posts that include private data like payment info, never criticism.

This company keeps writing off money…

This company keeps writing off money from your creditcard even when you canceled plans. It randomly gets money from you. If you email them they do not answer. Scammers!

No real refund and contact, looks like a scam

Agree with other reviews about scammers. I purchased a subscription on May 20, 2024, and used it once. After half a year, the website was down, so I couldn't use it or cancel the subscription. A few months ago, after a year, they tried to charge my card again, but the payment failed as there were no funds. I tried to log in to cancel, but couldn't access my account—previously, their website was on WordPress, but now it's on a different platform. I let it go, but a few days ago they successfully charged my card. I tried to log in again to cancel the subscription and immediately emailed them to request a refund (their policy allows a 1-day refund if nothing was downloaded, and I didn't download anything). After this, they deleted my account, and now I can't even log in.

Tried to charge again, 25.09.2025
Still no any refunds from their side.

20.01.2026 - no refunds.

They have created new website, grootmade.com and sent a newsletter about it for all users from the festingervault.com.

Be care with those scammers.

I was scammed of 2 month by this company.. the owner keeps saying I will be refunded. I hope I don't get charged again. Do not trust this website.

The owner is saying they are refunding, this is not true, do not trust this company, you will get scammed and will loose alot of time with your bank.

Fraudulent Billing Of Old Accounts - Resolved

This business was offline for over a year because they were being sued by Wordpress presumably for copyright infringement.

I had tried their services a couple times before they went offline back in 2023.

In April of this year my debit card was billed without warning or acknowledgement by them. At that time I did not know where the charge was coming from since the description on the bank transaction just said "Personal". Did not say Festinger Vault or anything to connect it with them. Did not receive an email saying I ordered anything from them.

I contacted my bank and based on their advice changed my card number.

How I found out where the fraudulent billing was coming from was when they tried to bill my card again this month. The transaction did not go through because I changed my card number.

I then received an automated email response from Festinger Vault saying the transaction failed.

I emailed Martin requesting a refund to my PayPal account since it would not be possible for them to refund to my card since the number was changed.

He apologized and said I was 100% correct and that billing should not have been done. He then said that the refund was sent to my PayPal account. The problem is the refund was NOT sent to my PayPal account. In the back and forth email exchange he kept insisting that the refund was sent to my PayPal account and sending me screenshots of fake internal records showing that the refund was made.

Eventually, I asked him to produce a screenshot of the PayPal refund transaction that was supposedly made.

He could not produce this.

The final correspondence I received by email from Festinger Vault was from "Sophie". Read it below:

"Hi,

You made a payment by credit card; so the refund is sent back to your credit card. If there is no payment done by PayPal, there is no option to refund to PayPal. As stated earlier, your order is refunded (screenshot is already provided).

This will be our last reply. If you need further assistance, kindly contact Stripe with the RSN number provided to track your refund.

Now her reply proved Martin was lying when he kept saying he sent the refund by PayPal

Her response is also a lie since the refund could not have been made to my card since I changed my card number.

I have seen similar complaints by other past customers in other fora, who Festinger had their credit or debit card numbers on file from years ago and decided to just start billing them again without authorisation.

In all cases Martin replies and apologizes saying was a mistake and should never should have happened and that a refund was made.

I don't know how many people actually received refunds though.

I know I didn't

First, I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration, confusion, and mistrust this situation has caused you. You are right to expect clarity, transparency, and above all, respect when it comes to billing, and we clearly failed to deliver that here.

Let me address a few things directly:

The charge in April was indeed a system error on our end, specifically involving legacy accounts that were reactivated during our platform's migration. This should never have happened.

The billing description labeled as “Personal” was a misconfiguration in our payment gateway, which we have since corrected. As a result, all charges now clearly display “Festinger Vault.”

About the refund, we absolutely should have communicated more clearly. A refund cannot be sent to PayPal if the original payment was made by card. Martin attempted to explain that the refund was initiated from our end and returned to the card via Stripe, our payment processor. But if the card was changed, Stripe typically sends the refund to your new card (via your bank), or in some cases routes it to your account directly. That said, if you never received the refund, then something clearly went wrong — and that’s on us to make right, not yours to chase.

If you’re open to it, please send us one final message to hello@festingervault.com with the subject line URGENT: Escalated Refund Request, and I will personally ensure your case is resolved, including proof from Stripe, or a direct PayPal refund if Stripe confirms your original refund failed.

Again, I’m truly sorry for the experience you’ve had. Whether or not you choose to give us another chance, I respect your right to share it.

Randomly trying to charge monthly subscription

I had cancelled my monthly subscription with Festinger Vault in May 2023. Almost two years ago. Today, on 26th April - 2025, they tried to charge my Visa a monthly subscription fee. Thankfully, it was declined. The email did say they're going to attempt to charge the card again on the 29th. What kind of low standard thievery is this? Just because you have the card details, you're going to charge me at your will. I have heard from several other people being charged without consent. This is just despicable. Shame on you!
