Inflexile Return Policy
Inflexible to a fault. Upon delivery of my filters, 2 mistakes were made. (1) I waited maybe 3 weeks past 90 day return policy to open the box. (2) When opened I discovered wrong -size filters. To my knowledge replacement with correct sizes nor return of my money was ever considered. The 90 day return policy reigns supreme. However, customer service seemed nice.
Didn’t meet their stated delivery window and couldn’t answer basic questions about my order
I ordered filters on a Sunday and their website says it will ship in 24 hours and it also said I would get in on Tuesday. On weds I called to ask for the status of the order because the fedex tracking number they provided said that the label had been created but fedex did not have the package. This is on weds morning and the filters were supposed to be shipped in 24 hours and have arrived on Tuesday so a day after they were supposed to arrive fedex’s site still says the package hadn’t been delivered. I called filter but to ask if the package had been shipped and the person just kept telling me what the fedex site said. I asked her to confirm that the package had left their facility and I was told that she couldn’t find that information out and that she was sure the FedEx site would update at some point today. They couldn’t even tell me if the package had left their facility a day after it was supposed to have arrived. Ridiculous.
Need reply to technical pressure drop question
We have a 23 year old home heat/cooling system. A plumber noticed our 20x25 2 inch filters and asked if they were rated for pressure drop since these older systems can be damaged with the wrong pressure rating. I have emailed FilterBuy several times with the pressure drop request but they never reply. So now I have a bunch of filters that I can't use until I can verify they won't damage my older equipment and cause flow failures. The filters themselves look and feel solid but I need the pressure drop info to safely use them and FilterBuy won't respond. Is a 1 inch lower drop? or will a 4 inch (because it has more surface area) be safer for pressure drop - I don't know and I really like FilterBuy filters construction but I really need an answer on this technical question befor I use them again.
Filters are flimsy and would not go…
Filters are flimsy and would not go into cabinet. I sent a video of the problem to customer service and they still insisted on charging me a return fee. Save yourself time, money and aggravation and buy name brand filters for a reputable retailer.
Does not measure up
The 16x24x1 air filter only measures 15 1/2 by 23 7/16 x1. No wonder there was a funny noise coming out of my return air duct. The filter got sucked into the air duct. I am 69 years old and in all my years of using air filters this is the first time this happened. Guess it is back to the store and find the correct filter.

Cheap Junk
Ordered 2 filters which were shipped right away. I was impressed. But that's where it ended. They were delivered in a clear plastic covering, not in a box. Filters are very fragile and can't be crushed. Duh! Well, the inner pleats were all a mess. some were stuck together at the top like they were glued. No uniformity at all. You can't have good air flow that way. When tried to see how they would fit, they didn't lay down properly. They offered to replace them (I don't want any more of their junk. To get a refund I would have to spend $14 to ship back. They went out in the trash. $46 down the drain
Customer service not a Priority
First time ordering and due to an error in shipping address I called Fedex and requested the shipment to be canceled however the rep stated Filterbuy must log on and cancel. I requested to speak to a Supervisor and was told Supervisor was not available yet she continuously put me on hold to speak with her/him. Customer service is definitely not a priority. Unfortunately, they failed to realize we would have been a great customer with the number of products we would have purchased!
Filterbuy is Money first, Customer Satisfaction last, Quality next to last
My experience with FILTERBUY is similar to others who have reviewed this site. Their rigid 90-day return policy doesn't take into account that you may have bought in bulk and don't use all of the filters within 90 days. The filters I bought here were the right spec but they didn't fit quite right and an AC repairman confirmed that they were the wrong filter size. I didn't discover this within the first 90 days but Filterbuy won't even EXCHANGE the remaining (unused, unopened) filters for the correct ones. (I guess I wouldn't want 'em back either).
over priced trash
i order what i thought was 4 cases of 14x14x1 and 2 cases of 20x20x1 air filters that are advertised as 6 packs on amazon but when i order them on this web site it was just 4 filters 14x14x1 and 2 20x20x1 for less price an when i tried to send the filters back it is going to cost my $35.00 , this company is a RIPOFF ... not quality filters ..go with amazon basic
Smaller Than Standard 20x20x4 Filter Size
The positive: good price and fast shipping.
The negative: Their 20x20x4 Filters are much smaller than 20x20x4 filters made by the name brands. As a result, they don't fit properly in my air handler. Rather than pay to send them back, I am going to glue a cardboard frame to them to make them fit properly. In addition, the manufacturing quality of the filters are suspect. Name brands have spacers that keep the pleats evenly spaced. These Filterbuy filter pleats are not evenly spaced and the pleats are bunched up near the edges. They are also glued into place and cannot be adjusted. Save yourself the hassle and get name brand filters or be sure to verify that the ACTUAL size of the filter will fit your application.
filters much smaller than stated size and comparable brands.
The website claims that their filters are1/8 to 1/4 inch smaller that the advertised outer dimension. Two of the sizes that I ordered were 1/2 to 5/8 inch shorter than the outer dimension. As a result, the filters do not cover the return opening. I have retrofitted them with cardboard shims so that I can use them. Their customer service seemed unfazed by my predicament.
Slowest shipment I ever had - and 2 of them!
I bought standard MERV-13 home HVAC filters. Web site claims "Fast, free shipping". My "fast" shipping took 11 days to travel 263 miles using the absolute slowest shipping mode possible (FedexPost). Arrived damaged because of all the handling and mis-packaging.
After days of "haggling" and making me prove damaged and waiting for Fedex to acknowledge damage, they shipped a replacement. Again, 10 days to arrive! I could literally walk there faster AND get a good night sleep every day!
BUYER BEWARE- Fraudulent business that holds onto your credit card information and ships you filters stating you had a subscription
Saw on my bank statement that Filter buy charge me for 6 air filters stating it was for my "annual subscription". I emailed them telling them I never authorized this and would never subscribe to an annual shipment and to send me a return label so that I may ship back and get a refund issued. They said they would "cancel" this subscription but I would have to ship the items back on my dime. This was a very large package. They must be doing awfully bad to charge a credit card an UNAUTHORIZED amount of $87.34. Will be calling the BBB on them as they kept on credit card information for them to use at their discretion with the excuse of a "subscription" that they were readily happy to "cancel". I put in a dispute with my Bank and will have them blocked from ever using my credit card information again.
Do not give this company your credit credentials as they are scammers.
Great Customer Service
I ordered 12x12 filters and when I received them, they had shipped 10x10 by mistake. I called and they to care of the mistake quickly. I received the correct filter the next day. Great customer service. Thank you for the quick response. Highly recommend Filter buy.
Bought 20x20x4 filters. They're not even close to that size.
Bought 20x20x4 filters. These are a standard size available at any hardware store. Typically 19 5/8 x19 5/8. Filterbuys were 19 3/8 x 19 3/8 and weren't same thickness either. (smaller all around) So needless to say, they don't fit. Not sure how they can list it at 20" when it's much closer to 19". Very misleading on their website. Had to pay for return myself.
BUYER BEWARE : Sent damaged filters; would not refund.
Sent damaged filters. No plastic wrap to protect during transit as shown on website (false advertising). Requested refund. Got run around. Filterbuy stated they couldn’t issue a refund until they received refund from their carrier (FedEx). Stuck with damaged filters.
Undersized/possibly mislabeled FilterBuy HVAC filters.
I found that FilterBuy 20 x 25 x 4 filters are actually significantly smaller than advertised and are too small for many HVAC units. So be careful looking for a bargain.
When you select 20 x 25 x 4 on their web site you get the smaller filters. In small print on the page, you'll see the actual size. FilterBuy must have rounded up from 19.375 to 20 inches, 24.375 to 25 inches, and 3 5/8 to 4 inches. It's deceptive.
Since the filters are too small for many HVAC systems, they let dirt flow around them into the unit and the air in your home. It doesn't matter what the MERV level you buy since the filter allows air to flow around it.
FYI, When I contacted the FilterBuy, their rep said I exceeded the 90-day refund window. When I explained that the filter was undersized, they told me it said the right size on the web site (in small print under actual size). Yep even when you click 20x25x4, you are taken to the undersized filter. When I asked to escalate, they said, “No exceptions.”
My HVAC guy said the FilterBuy filter does not fit my HVAC unit and may invalidate the warranty. I'd avoid FilterBuy.
I just received my order
I just received my order. Thank you for delivering so fast.
However the quality of the filters is poor. I attached a photo of what I received.
Pleats are poorly installed the cardboard is bent and misformed. There is no indication for air flow direction. I stopped ordering from you about a year
ago because of these issues I thought you would have worked out these problems out by now, I see you have not
A new customer
What's with all the horrible reviews? I ordered oddly sized air filters and that's what I received. Looking at the reviews I figured my filters would never ship but nope. I got mine in 2 days and they fit perfectly. The fast shipping time was great because im dealing with the texas heat right now. Will buy more soon.
