In just one (1) month (okay, 5 weeks), the Finisher's Journal 3.0 helped me to defend my doctoral research proposal making me an official Candidate for my doctoral degree after I had dragged my feet and procrastinated about writing the proposal for 6 years. I ordered two journals and the Finisher's Secrets pen on March 1st, 2026, and I received my order on March 7th, 2026. So, the turnaround from order to receipt for this item was quite fast. At first, I was leery of writing in a nice hardback book like the Finisher's Journal, so my first entry is not until March 23rd. My productivity took off from there. My defense was scheduled on April 13th for April 28th when I successfully defended my dissertation proposal. I am so very thankful for the Finisher's Journal and the supportive group emails that Javier, the owner of the company, sends about once a month. He doesn't give up on a customer after a purchase is made.

The longer version of my story is that I froze after completing three years of coursework for my doctorate. I was in the state of what is known as "the drift" for those six long post-course years without knowledge about how to write the proposal or confidence in what I was doing. Last year I joined an online group supporting women in the very same situation as me and now I have a writing coach. The group and my writing coach help. Some of the women in the dissertation creation group had spoken about the value of Time Boxing to get past procrastination. I had looked at similar Journals, but they did not have what worked. (It is interesting that they all look similar, but upon closer inspection, they all differ in what is emphasized.) When the Finisher's Secrets Journal started appearing in my social media account, I took a look at it and since I was remarkably familiar with SMART goals and objectives from my work in special ed and in the Coast Guard Auxiliary, I felt secure purchasing the Journal. Once I incorporated the goals and objectives I had written in the Finisher’s Journal into my dissertation‑writing group tools, my daily progress increased dramatically. I added some stickers to the front of my first journal to attract me to it and the way the text in the Journal helped me organize what I needed to accomplish so I did not have to guess what I should do each day, I made rapid and noteworthy progress. Not only did the 3‑month, weekly, and daily goals I created in the Finisher’s Journal help me make progress, but they also made me accountable to myself for working every day. I disliked seeing blank space for a day of the week in the book. I thought that it was cool that I was able to defend my research proposal in about a month (okay, 5 weeks), even though I had allotted 90 days to accomplish that.

Last month, my first dissertation mentor retired and left the university. So, now I have a new dissertation mentor who is away until August. With my writing coach's help, I have been able to list goals and objectives and start creating a daily plan in my Finisher's Journal 3.0 in order to be game ready in August when my mentor returns in order to be able to submit the proposal to our institutional research board and get university approval for the research portion of my dissertation to start.

I highly recommend the Finisher's Journal 3.0 by Finishersecrets. Once I finish my first two Journals, I’m planning to order more to support my dissertation and other tasks—perhaps with a brown cover next time, just to mix things up.

I ordered 4 journals from the USA to the Netherlands, and due to a customs issue (which was not Finisher Secret’s fault), the shipment didn’t go through properly. I emailed them, and they immediately sent me 4 new journals to make sure I’d receive them.

Because of the reshipment, I had to pay an extra €35 in customs fees. When I emailed them about it to see if there was anything they could do, they instantly refunded the €35 without hesitation.

You honestly don’t see this level of service often anymore. Huge respect

Really like the simplicity and thoughtfulness of the planner. The small details like a pen loop and pocket in the back make a huge difference.

The FinisherSecret is the best journal I've used to stay attuned with my quarterly goals and translate those into daily outcomes. The quarterly perspective keeps me focused on the "big rocks" that are making meaningful impact on my life. The breakdown into 14 weeks provides a solid path of execution to consider - "what can I really get done during this time". The weekly planning is op tempo. This provides me with a "make it real" view and what to accomplish this week and what lessons I have to take with me from the prior week. And the daily - well, we command our days or our days will command us. The Finishers Secrets daily approach is like the focus diopter or diopter adjustment ring on my binoculars. It fine-tunes my focus into a single day and single objective. All else is secondary. #ServeWell

It's exactly what I wanted, a professional, premium Journal with a smart display (daily, weekly, etc...)

Since 2020, I got those finishers, the only thing that i'm afraid is that the company stop making them...

I have purchased about 1/2 a dozen different daily planners and all gathered dust, then I found the Finisher Journal. I keep coming back to it for the time-boxing approach and its simplicity, I think it gets the essence of what’s most important and help you focus on it.

The Finisher’s Journal is well-organized and makes it easy to track your progress with goals, habits, or non-goal-related weekly tasks. It is useful and customizable to anyone regardless of the existing level of organizational skill. I’m on my second journal and plan to continue to use it to tackle goals and habit-building going forward.

Great journal, although expensive it forses me to treat it with respect and consistency because of the price Ive paid for them

I've been using this journal for about 2 months now and already seeing a drastic change in my output. It'll take some effort but if you really put this thing to use (I combine it with the 12 Week Year method).. you'll actually start getting the important things done.

took forever to arrive, though, because of a bunch of delays.
but, overall, i'm happy with it.

Amazing Journal! Completely changed my goal achievements in life, school, and work. I've ordered 6 journal and cannot get enough!

Was hesitant at first because I'm not the type to be 'structured' or a 'day planner' but I knew that I needed massive change in my life and my productivity. I made the leap to buy my first one back in Jan 2020 and needless to say I fell in love with the design and the components almost instantly. Ever since then I've been using it daily, now four weeks left into my SECOND journal. That's how great and easy it is to use.
