Great little device!
We got this just to see how much our Irish terrier runs all day long. The device is very small, fits on her collar and gives us information on her activity and sleep. (The one we have is not a location tracker - requires no subscription.) Customer support is really amazing - quick and thorough. It’s been foolproof so far (2 weeks use) and fun to have.

I have been a FitBark customer since March 23, 2017. I have had all 3 FitBark units, used by 2 dogs. The units and the app is progressively getting better, as more functionality is built in. I love using FitBark, previously with an elderly dog, and currently with a high energy puppy. The customer service is fantastic, they are always thriving to figure out any solutions to a problem I encounter. FitBark gives me the peace of mind I need now and in the past. Thank you
Tracks me, not my dog.
Very good at tracking me, not my dog. I had a Fitbark gps for week now. It’s never managed to track my dog unless I was next to him.I couldn’t track him when he went out with his dog walker. I contacted their customer service.
They were fairly responsive at first. They asked me to let them know when I went on a walk, asked me to turn off my Bluetooth and stay out of the safe zone so they could collect data and assess the issue. They told me they were looking into it and would come back to me but didn’t. I contacted them again and they told me they’d be in touch.
I’m pretty sure the tracker they sent me is faulty. I struggle to charge it. I have used a standard Fitbark (no gps) for 5 years. It isn’t easy to charge but I’ve always managed. Not this time.
I’ve also noticed a lag in getting activity information. It wasn’t the case with the old model.
I’m really annoyed and want to return it and get a full refund. I’m waiting to hear from them.
Downgrade from tractive device…..
I had a tractive for my outdoor stray cat, and I loved it but the battery only lasted a day. So I got fitbark for extended battery, and I didn’t get any better battery life, it is not tracking very good, and goes offline, so I will be getting rid of the fitbark and will deal with less battery on a far superior device with the tractive. There is no comparison on how much better tractive was than fitbark….
Don't waste your money on Fitbark GPS
I previously owned a FitBark (old model), lightweight and easy to use, the equivalent of an old Fitbit, so tracking activity (using points, calculated based on how much the tracker shakes) and energy consumed. More recently, I made a fool of myself upgrading to Fitbark GPS. The product performance are terrible. The battery doesn't last long and if you want accurate tracking, it will deplate your phone battery too. The real issue is the tracker itself, with incorrect measurements, and goes offline at random every other day. I had it for three months and been contacting support every other day. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy

Had FitBark for a couple of months. It worked ok. Not as precise of tracking as I would have liked especially to have on our cat but it was ok. Had to switch internet companies and modem. Apparently FitBark isn’t compatible (after much troubleshooting). They refused to refund me the remaining 6 months of subscription even though now the service is literally worthless. It shows the cat all over the neighborhood even though he’s been in the house. The battery constantly drains. Company won’t refund so I’m stuck with a couple more months of worthless service. They have just stopped responding to me and won’t reply at this point. Don’t waste your time and money. There’s better options out there.
Essential Insights for Active Breeds
FitBark helps us keep tabs on the activity levels of our Mini American Shepherd pups. The GPS model with its locating functionality is reassuring in case they decide to wander off. The FitBark support team is great as well and I would recommend either the GPS or non-GPS model to any dog owner.

Can I give this tracker a or negative rating? Using their system for several months. I was on The phone with them at least once a week trying to get it to work right and then it would work right and then I would call again with a problem the next week.
Safe zone: Because The area you can save as a safe zone is A circle It does not work well with a Long narrow yard.
Tracking: The system does not have real time tracking. It would let me know that she had left The yard several minutes after she had done so. Sometimes it would tell me that she had left The yard and she hadn't. Very unreliable tracking.
Customer Service: Yes they have great Customer Service. I do not have time to call them every week to get The system to work like it's supposed to!
Durability: The GPS itself seems to be fairly durable. The zip tie is a pack with The system itself are brutal and break easily. When we needed to attach it to the collar using our own zip ties. We discovered this problem when The GPS had fallen off her collar and I needed to roam our to grow over looking for The GPS. Thankfully it still had battery charge to it, but I needed to find it through a 3rd party GPS locator.
I do not understand how this company has gotten such a good rating.

Great for keeping my dogs safe
We got Fitbark as a replacement for Whistle when they sold to another company. I like the size of the Fitbark and that the device covers come in several colors and are changeable. So far, they do a good job of keeping tabs on my dogs and reporting on their activity levels and health metrics. Fortunately, we haven't had to try the tracking function, but it gives a sense of security that it's available if the dogs decide to go exploring on their own.

I use FitBark for my cat. I live in an apartment complex and set a zone around my place. When my cat Leroy leaves the zone I get an alert so I can check on him. I feel much safer knowing where he is.
Peace of Mind!
One of my dogs made it his goal to escape our fenced yard. He got out one night in an ice storm and made it 6 miles before we found him. The next day we ordered a Fitbark GPS tracker. Now, I can find him anywhere on our 10 acres and track him if necessary. He seems comfortable wearing it and it is easy to charge. The customer service has been great. It has given us peace of mind that we know where he is all the time. For the price, it is a great product.
