Poor Communication, Poor Maintenance, and No Accountability
We recently rented a vacation home in Corolla, NC through Five Star Rentals and were extremely disappointed with the experience.
Communication was difficult from the beginning. After booking, I had to repeatedly follow up just to receive the rental contract.
The biggest issues occurred during our stay. We had no internet or TV service for the first 2.5 days, and a company representative told us the service account had been suspended. We also paid an additional $500 for a heated pool, but the water temperature remained around 74 degrees. When I raised concerns and requested compensation, I received excuses and eventually no response at all.
Additional problems included refrigerators that were unplugged before arrival, a grill with only one working burner, a non-working outdoor TV, damaged furniture, no toilet paper provided upon arrival, and no checkout instructions.
The property is in a beautiful location and has potential, but it is not being properly maintained. Most disappointing was the lack of customer service and accountability when legitimate concerns were brought forward.
Based on our experience, I would not rent through Five Star Rentals again.
