If you have a bump in your car and your Insurance says take it to
*** FIX AUTO NEWPORT *** then AVOID AVOID AVOID
MY car went in in September after a minor bump on the doors
Had a week brought it back and the paint work was shocking!!
Sent car back to be rectified had it 2.5 wks to be told had to order a new door as they couldn't get the repair right
Brought car back looked shocking still paint work all like orange peel and dull, new door that was fitted was all leaking causing my carpets to be saturated.
Sent back in for a 3rd time tried to rectify the mess on the paint work and the door ,Brough it back and paint still a mess and door still leaking and carpets wet again!
Insurance assessor attended Thursday 13th november and didn't disagree my car looks like a bag of shit
FIX AUTO HAVE MADE A MESS OF MY CAR!
Now the car has gone in for the 4th time to a DIFFERENT garage so they can hopefully sort it, been advised that a full spray of the side is likely to happen now as FIX AUTO NEWPORT have made a mess of it. Used to many coats of lacquer and now the door and wing are different colour.
I would not recommend Fix Auto Newport if it was the last garage on Earth.
I would like to have given zero stars if this was an option. My car was damaged on the 29th August, it took 3 weeks for them to even assess the damage on my car. The appointment for my car to be repaired was scheduled for the 9th October, but it was cancelled at 3:30pm the day before and I was offered an appointment 3 weeks later than my original appointment. My insurance company have since stated that I should have been offered a hire car and this was never an acceptable reason to cancel the appointment. I was also told my car should have been collected and returned to me as opposed to me driving 54 miles to and from the garage. When I made a complaint about this, the manager stated he was confused as to why I had been offered an appointment so far ahead, when they had availability sooner than this. By no real surprise, this appointment did not go ahead either due to requesting a like for like courtesy car as per my policy. On arrival I was provided with a car 4x the size of my own. I raised my concerns that this was not safe or suitable for me to drive, however the receptionist, who's behaviour notably changed when in the presence of specific staff members , stated "well that's all I've got", after waiting 10 weeks for a courtesy car to be sourced. The reception staff are rude, unhelpful, obstructive and will do anything possible to make your life as difficult as possible. I was treated with contempt. At no point did anyone offer any guidance about the general operation of the car, especially given I had raised multiple concerns about safety. They seemed more concerned about making me sign documents on an ipad that hadn't been fully explained to me. I tried to drive the car after feeling pressured to accept this unacceptable option, but within seconds it became clear, I would be endangering myself and others by trying to drive a car that my insurance company stated should never have been given to me. I was left visibly distressed and reduced to tears due to the behaviour and lack of understanding from the staff. Credit where it is due, one of the technicians (unsure on his name) noticed how upset I was and asked if I was ok and reassured me that I did not have to take this car, after feeling so intimidated and pressurised by the other staff members to do so. I would not recommend this car garage if it was the last one on the Earth. Having a no fault accident was bad enough, but the treatment from the garage made the whole experience so much worse than it should have been. I am now 10 weeks on from the accident, and I am no further forward in getting my car repaired due to the incompetence of this garage.

my car went in for airbags couple of months in i picked the car up they sorted the airbags but my breaks weren't working.... they were perfectly fine before goin in and got told its the break pads and disk (had them changed straight away and surprise surprise my car still wont break lol) made me drive home from newport to my home town which is 45-50 mins away with no breaks so i was unable to break all the way home could of had a serious accident so had to drive home very very slow causing traffic with my hazards on. Very dangerous.

Went above and beyond
Excellent service from the start. Plenty of good quality communication. Great care and attention, respectful and friendly service. So easy to deal with. Exceeded any expectations I had. At the end of the repair the company managed to get my car back early to enable a previously booked service appointment to be able to happen. I highly recommend this company and the staff I personally dealt with should all be recognised as outstanding assets to the business 👏 and behind the scenes immaculate job carried out on my car. Well done guys, management please take note of this, these guys keep the business afloat and are a most excellent team 😎

Fix Auto Newport – Disgraceful Behaviour, Zero Accountability, and a Manager Totally Out of Control
My BMW was sent to Fix Auto Newport by my insurer — not by choice — and I wish I’d had the option to go elsewhere.
The state of the car when returned was unacceptable: dull, dirty paintwork, privacy glass misaligned, and new scratches on panels that were untouched during the original damage. I had detailed, timestamped photos showing the condition before it was collected, so there was no confusion.
When I calmly asked to compare my photos with the intake images Fix Auto should have taken, manager John Bowler said: “Yes, but I’m not showing you.” That level of arrogance and evasion was a red flag — and it only got worse from there.
While I was on the phone with my insurer, Mr Bowler spat on a cloth and rubbed it into the paintwork, trying to hide a scratch. Yes — spat. It was unhygienic, disrespectful, and frankly disgusting.
He then ordered a team member to keep buffing the area — again and again — despite the damage clearly being under the clear coat. When I still didn’t accept it, his frustration boiled over. He shouted at a member of his own team in front of me, then told staff to move my car out of sight and made a sarcastic remark: “Make sure you go through the courtesy car with a fine-tooth comb.”
That comment said everything about their attitude. They demand detailed documentation when you borrow their car, but hide behind excuses when they damage yours.
Fix Auto Newport is run like a backstreet garage with a corporate logo slapped on the front. The manager, John Bowler, clearly lacks the professionalism, composure, and respect needed to deal with customers — or even his own staff. If this is the standard Fix Auto UK finds acceptable, or what insurers are signing off on, it’s seriously time to reevaluate.

Witnessed absolutely disgraceful behaviour at Fix Auto Newport. Avoid this place.
I was with a friend collecting his BMW after a repair, and what I witnessed was shocking. The workmanship was appalling — dull paintwork, visible dirt under the lacquer, misaligned rear privacy glass, and new scratches on panels that were untouched during the original damage. These issues were confirmed by photos taken before the car was handed in.
When my friend calmly asked to compare his photos with Fix Auto’s intake images, the manager, John Bowler, flatly refused and said: “Yes, but I’m not showing you.” That kind of evasiveness raises serious concerns about honesty and accountability.
Even worse — and I saw this with my own eyes — while my friend was on the phone to his insurer, Mr Bowler spat on a cloth and rubbed it into the car’s paintwork in an apparent attempt to conceal a scratch. It was a disgusting, unhygienic act that left us both stunned.
Rather than take responsibility, Mr Bowler sent someone out to buff out the scratches (which were clearly under the clear coat) multiple times, hoping we’d just accept it. When we didn’t, his tone changed completely — he got visibly angry, told staff to move the car out of sight, and made sarcastic remarks like: “Make sure you go through the courtesy car with a fine-tooth comb.”
That comment alone says it all. They demand full documentation when you borrow their car, but refuse transparency when damage occurs to yours in their care.
This branch acted like they had something to hide. The entire interaction reeked of denial, evasion, and a lack of professionalism. If this is how customers are treated when something goes wrong, Fix Auto UK seriously needs to review what’s happening at their Newport location — especially with someone like John Bowler representing them.

Customer service
Nicola, Shannon and Gabrielle gave a lovely customer service in letting me know updates about the car the company were very quick from picking the car up to getting the repairs done and letting me know when the car was ready fantastic service by all.
My car has been with them for repairs…
My car has been with them for repairs after a minor prang, went to collect it on 23/4 after having it for 3 months. had a fault on it that was not there before the accident. They then delivered it back to me on the 25/4 with the fault fixed but it wasn't, dacia then returned it back to Fix Auto NEWPORT to correct the fault, they had it for another two weeks got returned to me this morning had it 5 minutes and the fault has returned, the delivery driver had not even left. Needs to go back to them for a fourth time should not be this hard to fix a year old car.
Customer service was terribly, communication was terribly would not recommend them at all they have caused stress and anxiety to a mobility customer

Minimum fuss
Minimum fuss. They collected the car, advised about necessary repairs and carried them out in good order. Only 4 stars because they could not deliver vehicle back to home address, had to get to Newport to collect. A tad inconvenient.
What a wonderful experience
What a wonderful experience with this company who were all very helpful. The updates on the car were great it reduced stress levels. The guy who did my estimate was very good which put my mind at ease. I dealt mostly with Gabrielle which I liked as it gave the personal touch. She was excellent from start to finish 10 out of 10 for this young lady. The persons who repaired my car went above and beyond my expectations and did an excellent repair on my car. Thank you all very much.
