⭐ 1-Star Review

⭐ 1-Star Review – Disappointing Service and Unexpected Additional Charges

My washing machine broke on Sunday morning, and instead of going directly to the manufacturer, as I would normally do, I decided to give FixCycle Repairs a chance. Unfortunately, I regret that decision.

Fred initially quoted me £89, plus the cost of any parts if necessary. However, he was very pushy about getting me to book immediately, even after I explained that I wanted to shop around first. That was my first red flag.

He arrived within the agreed time window, which I appreciated. However, the actual repair took no more than five minutes. He appeared to clip something back into place, and the machine started running again. He then suggested I should pay him an additional £30, explaining that he was being honest and wasn’t trying to scam me into buying a new part.

This made me uncomfortable. I’m naturally someone who tips when I feel the service deserves it, so I would have happily considered tipping him of my own accord. Being asked to pay extra after such a short job, however, felt unnecessary and put me in an awkward position.

I paid £109 in total. Unfortunately, after Fred had left, the washing machine started leaking.

As it was late, I contacted him the following morning to explain the problem. Having just paid £109 for the repair, I expected him to at least discuss resolving the issue, particularly as the website advertises a six-month warranty. Instead, I was told I would need to pay a further £30 for petrol for him to return and address the rubber seal so the machine would stop leaking.

I found this extremely disappointing. From my perspective, I had paid for a repair, yet the machine was leaking immediately afterwards, and I was being asked to pay even more to have the problem addressed.

Overall, the experience left me feeling uncomfortable and dissatisfied. The pressure to book, the request for additional money and the subsequent leak, followed by another charge to return, have put me off using this company again.

I would not use this service again. My advice to anyone considering FixCycle Repairs is to shop around, contact the manufacturer where appropriate, and clarify exactly what the quoted price and warranty cover before booking. I certainly wish I had done so.
