Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 531 reviews, most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers appreciate the simplicity and ease of the user experience, finding it a convenient option for vehicle access. They often highlight that maintenance, insurance, and registration are handled, making it a stress-free alternative to car ownership. The ability to swap cars and the availability of various mileage packages are also frequently mentioned as positive aspects. However, some people were dissatisfied with the pricing, finding it expensive and noting additional charges for extra miles or car swaps. Customer service receives mixed feedback; while some report positive interactions, others describe difficulties reaching live representatives and issues with responsiveness or helpfulness. There are also concerns about product quality, such as receiving vehicles with issues like dead batteries or expired tags, and delays in maintenance or repairs.

Amazing customer service, Flexcar policy SUCKS

I truly do love the flexibility that Flexcar provides for transportation options. However, I'm giving 2 stars because I don't like the fact we can no longer schedule appointments to get oil changes with Pepboys anymore. Now I have to drive 50 miles to and from to get to the Hub and it took me 3 HOURS to wait for them to finish an oil change. That is totally unacceptable and they didn't give me any credits for the mileage for having to drive so far away for the oil change. I also recently had a flat tire, and instead of them offering me another vehicle to drive until my car was fixed they gave me a $50 Lyft credit to get home and I had to find transportation on my own until whenever they tell me my car is ready for pickup. I will then have to drive 50 miles to and from to pick up the vehicle from the Hub again. They said they would not be able to bring the car to a closer location they have to me or deliver the car to my home. The only thing they are willing to do is give me a prorated credit for the days I am without a vehicle. Luckily for me I have other cars in my household, but people who do not, will be screwed! On a positive note, their customer service agents are always polite and understanding. 5 stars for them but 2 stars for Flexcar policy.

Easy decision...just Flex!

Customer service is great in person and even the chat bot feature is great and simpleeee! Can't beat simplicity! The staff at the service/pickup location are freaking nice and always a pleasant experience when needing help with understanding car stuff for a girl like me. App is easy and convenient when Im laying in bed and want to check my driving stats and gas/mileage before heading out for the day. I highly recommend FlexCar. You're crazy if you don't Flex. Just saying 🌻

Driving Violations

The violations are random and there is no date of the caused action or the time. This resulted me in missing out on rewards without any seeable future of when and how to earn my driving points back.

First of all when i got a car from you…

First of all when i got a car from you guys you gave me a car with a messed up battery and my tagg was expired. It is quick and easy to get a car from Flex Car but they are very expensive and at the end you will never get to own the car. You can be spending thousands of dollars for a car you will never keep and on top of that you guys charge to swap a car if we do decide to swap cars. It has its perks but lets just say i wont be using them for long.

As a Boston driver I paid for the driving culture of all who use Boston Streets by surburban and inner city drivers in a rush to get to work in am and get home in the pm. Trying to use safe driving habits was almost impossible.

Flexcar is a useful option for people who can’t buy a car outright, but the strict payment structure and lack of flexibility make it challenging. Not everyone gets paid on a fixed schedule, and that makes staying on track difficult. Customer service has also been limited, mostly stating they can’t help due to policy. Adding more flexible payment options and support would make a big difference for customers.

Payment

You guys could be a little more lenient with payment. I recently started a new job and my pay week is different than the due date of this Flexcar. I wanted to pay a week later after my due date, and I only have 7 days to come up with payment until it’s repossessed.
