I have written to my travel agent about the disappointing and upsetting experience I had working with my travel agent when I went into the store to pay the additional 'travel expert booking fee' for the online price on the website and was told that because I am now in the store my travel agent could not give me the same price - that wanting to pay the additional fee meant I needed to pay the fee plus a higher travel price. I am sure this does not meet the requirements of the Fair Trading Act in the way pricing is advertised. I like my travel agent, but as the manager of the Flight Centre store, with him not able to match the price of Flight Centre's own website (when the website does say that I can take the option of going in store to pay the online price plus the travel agent fee), I am sure it is false advertising, illegal and all my efforts to support Flight Centre as a brand, I am now embarrassed about the support I have given. I should have walked away, but I was a bit shocked, and my travel agent is so helpful in every other aspect that I just paid the money at the time.
I have been upfront with my travel agent, and I have asked him to pass my complaint on.

I felt very comfortable and at ease with our Travel Agent Laura Millis. She was very welcoming, warm and a good listener. I appreciated her patience and clarity in helping us clarify what we wanted and in making changes between our visits to her. She was very prompt in adjusting our booking arrangements
Her enthusiasm for our country of destination was reassuring as she visited it last year and was able to give suggestions and information that added value to our consultations with her, helping us sense the ethos of the country. She gave "handy hints" on navigating our journey.

Kaci from Flight Centre was awesome. The whole procedure was painless and really helpful. We both felt st ease, and all our requirements were met very professionally.

Ange Evans was very helpful and had a great personal touch.

Jassu Singh of Riccarton branch has been a great help for my family in getting us a flight where it is not only budget friendly but also convenient for me as I will be travelling alone with an infant and my 11yr old daughter. He has rendered exceptional customer service and went well and beyond what is expected of him. I will definitely go back to him for our future travels. I highly recommend Jassu Singh.

Aroha at the Christchurch Riccarton Mall branch looked after our flights to Europe this year and she has been totally outstanding. We were there for over two hours and Aroha went through all the options with us until we found the best solution. Very calm, helpful and also thinking outside the square for options available. Best travel agent we have ever found. Thanks a lot Aroha, Alex and Natalie

Flight centre is always so helpful for me..Friendly..patient and very efficient....wouldn't go anywhere else!!

Jassu has been fabulous. He has helped us with our first family trip to Hawaii and nothing has been a problem for him. He has gone above expections for us. Very grateful and will definitely be back to book the next adventure with him.

I emailed my agent whom I use regularly. She responded immediately even though she was on leave. My flights were booked as per my request. She sent them through, along with the travel insurance cover and I paid when I collected them the next day.
My agent always contacts me prior to my trip to confirm the bookings.
