First (and last) experience with FC Baulkham Hills
In our first (and last) experience with Flight Centre, they did all the things we would normally have done ourselves - but they did them with half the efficiency and took twice as long. Do it yourself - you will get a far superior result.
We booked a tour for a family of 5 through them as they were the nominated agent for that tour. Whenever we had a question, we had to figure it our ourselves, as they did not know, and could not find out.
Five "optional" $300 Captain's Packs were added to our 5 bookings without our consent, and difficult to remove.
Flight bookings were a debacle, and when my husband was there to sort out yet another issue, he thought it would be a good idea to have them book another flight he needed also. Took 45 minutes for a "flight' centre agent to book a simple domestic flight for one person, that we would normally do ourselves in 15 minutes.
Invoice is repetitive and poorly laid out, and the itinerary listed varied considerably from what we actually experienced on the tour (don't know if this is something Flight Centre had any control over).
Tour finished in Kyoto, however, FC had booked us on a domestic flight from Osaka to Tokyo at considerable expense and wasted time, when it would have been far easier to simply take Shinkansen (bullet train) for free back to Tokyo for the international flight, as we already had valid rail passes provided for travel during the tour.
Communication was abysmal. No transfer info was provided for how to get from Kyoto to Osaka for the domestic flight on Thursday. We emailed on the Monday to ask about transfers, and got NO RESPONSE FOR 3 DAYS. When they did reply, it was to say "I don't know. We Googled it - here is a link (that did not work!!!)
