Roscoe & I had been doing buttons for nearly a year and even though he knew & used over 20 words, we were stalled. He seldom pressed without prompting and we had very little two-way communication with them. “Let's get Them Pressing” got us over that hump. Ashley's deep knowledge & experience, her insight, and her happy, encouraging spirit helped me to understand the relationship between my learner's overwhelming reactivity and his passive approach to his buttons. She quietly gave me extra readings and activities and tweaked the lessons for me to make them more relevant to my more advanced learner, and she helped me to think in new & fascinating ways about my pup's behavior. Roscoe and I have both been energized by Ashley's class and he is beginning to take initiative, pressing more often, more confidently, and more independently. I took a Fluent Pet Academy course over the past few weeks (over Zoom). I've learned to understand my pets (learners) better, and how to tailor different teaching strategies and styles to each of my learners (I have a dog and two cats). Some of the information we were given in class could be found at the Fluent Pet website but I was able to ask questions about my specific issues with teaching buttons and get recommendations from our wonderful teacher. Our beginner class had about 20 people between those who was about to get the buttons and those who already been using them for a little while. Being able to share our experiences was very valuable as well. My main learner started using all of her 5 buttons about 4 weeks into the course (I received the buttons a few days before the class started). Though this is not a measure of success in teaching my learners to communicate with me! But the teaching course gave me a set of tools that I learned to use with confidence because now I know how they work and when it's best to use them. I think at the end of the day it's important to understand that "talking buttons" is not a new trick - it's a journey. I hope yours will be a happy one!

Ashley gave a great series of remote lessons on how to teach a pet to use the FluentPet buttons. There were different animals in the class and it was interesting to see how each differed in their approach to learning. My dog is now pushing the buttons and cementing in the meaning for the 3 that she uses frequently.

The instructor, Ashley Evenson, is patient, kind and SO smart! This course is so beneficial because Ashley explains how our learners (animals we are working with) learn and experience the world.
We were taught techniques to begin communicating and encouraging button-pressing based on many others’ experiences and science (there are studies about this!!). There were also demos with the instructor’s learners, opportunities to practice and get feedback during and outside of class and bonding over this fun activity with a group of wonderful humans and their learners - who were not all dogs or cats, by the way!

The specific questions about my pets up front, in order to determine what training kit best suits them started my satisfaction with FluentPet. Since then, the bootcamp, free guide after receiving my kit and the guidance and examples from qualified trainers have me amped!

Im so disapointed. We were so excited as Ive been wanting to buy the buttons for a long time, and now that we have them and I bought the biggest package and the connect ones - I got a broken base? :(
Its been painful to get a hold of someone via live chat as well as through email (why is there no customer service phone number?). It takes days to get any response, and even with that its been just more questions from FluentPet and still no resolution. They keep asking the same question about my wifi, sign up email, and base number - which I have given more than once.
My excitement and enthusiasm has quickly been replaced with disappointment and wondering if I just lost my money hopelessly.
I wish there were more communication options - and possibly more hiring on their end. The potential they have could be unrivaled...but I digress.

I tried cheaper buttons that I could barely hear and if my dog double tapped, it would cut off the playback. The Connect System is fabulous. If I don't hear when Girl presses a button, I get the alert on my phone and Girl gets less frustrated now that I know what she's telling me. Thank you!

My German Shepherd has really taken to using the Fluent Pet buttons often, and her vocabulary has blossomed.
My only gripe with the product is that the classic buttons sometimes randomly reset to the default message, and I have to flick the switch to Record, and back to Play, before the button will work. With over two dozen buttons in regular use, I do this about once a week.

I ordered this item about a month ago and I still haven’t received it. FedEx lost my package and I was told by Fluent support I had to wait to see if the package turned up despite me telling them it was delivered to the wrong front door (not even in my neighborhood). I’m still waiting for the replacement to be shipped. Support put in a new order but I did not get a tracking number until about a week later when I emailed support about the status of my package. I’m incredibly frustrated. This was not a cheap purchase and I should not have to still be waiting for this package to arrive.

Bootcamp was short, strange, and confusing. They use bootcamp as a throwaway item; don't pay for it.
