Old and dark with rude security staff.

Old and dark with rude security staff.

Security in terminal 3 closed, staff in terminal 2 decide to close the checkpoint in the middle of the busy time and sends everybody to terminal 1, staff there is rude and ineffektive.

The building it self is dark and old, cant believe that this is the home airport of Porche and Mercedes.

Utter shambles from start to finish

We had a late evening flight which was delayed. At check in the staff inexplicably altered the queue lanes leaving us and several others locked out of the queue even though we were one of the first to join the original queue. Fortunately the other passengers in the queue let us rejoin at the appropriate place. Then I went to security. I have vital medical equipment that cannot go through x ray machines. I tried to inform a member of staff who just kept on telling me “it was ok just put it in your bag, it’s no problem”. Eventually I persuaded her that it was not fine. I was then sent through for a pat down which was the correct procedure but a policeman came over and told me to put my insulin pump and sensor through the x ray machine as it would not cause a problem. I told him this was wrong but he became very insistent and told me his level of expertise was that his daughter had diabetes and always went through the x ray machine. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing they say. His daughter was on an entirely different system that was safe with x rays but mine was not. I am a retired doctor and diabetes specialist, so had the knowledge to refuse his insistence but other people may well have been intimidated and followed his instructions putting their health at serious risk potentially. Your staff it seems need far better training. Finally we waited for information to go to gate but there was none. I noticed a long queue which was moving very slowly signposted to our gate. It turned out this was the queue to passport control although there was absolutely no signage or information. The passport office was woefully understaffed hence the very slow process. Also one officer kept shouting in German and as very few people in the queue spoke German it just added to the utter chaos. There was also a lift to the bottom of the stairs and people coming by lift found themselves at the front of the queue further delaying those queuing on the stairs. Luckily we made it too the flight on time but from start to finish the whole customer experience was a total shambles. The impression was of a woefully badly managed airport.

Bahnhof mäßig

Poor management especially during summer.

Services like OPS and ground handling are totally caos. They recruit before summer and the rest of employees are in autumn thrown away

Employment (HR) section are willing to recruite a native german totally incompetent and uneducated radher than someone which is graduated
Passangers security always try to push in other terminals because some of lazy employees.
Here very high taxes in comparison with other airports are applied

Toxic Check-in Agents/British Airways

On August 11, 2025, I was booked on BA from Stuttgart to London Heathrow. The flight was scheduled to depart at 855PM. Checking in was a disaster! I requested wheelchair services but made it clear that I could climb stairs but needed the service for distance only.
When I attempted to check in, the one woman on duty (several men) changed my aisle seat to a window seat, despite having paid to reserve that seat at the time of booking. She did not refund my money for the seat change.
She said that since I requested a wheel chair, i had to sit in a window seat. I pointed out that this is not correct because I could use stairs and did not need to be carried to the plane. Only passengers unable to climb stairs and had to be carried had to be seated in a window seat. I fly often and was never denied an aisle seat when requested a wheel chair for distance only.

I need an aisle seat because of a health condition and need quick access to a toilet.

This agent accused me of being rude and unsafe when I commented that she was uninformed and did not know her job well. She behaved like a verbal bully and did not allow me to fly. I cannot rule out the possibility that this agent gave my aisle seat that I reserved and paid for to someone else. No doubt, this agent exploited her position alleging misconduct on my part.
I had to book another flight the following day on Eurowings and had no issues at all. I requested a wheelchair, pointed out that it was for distance only and I could climb stairs and walk to my aisle seat as a pre-boarder. I also had to book a hotel room in Stuttgart for the night but my hotel in London that evening was nonrefundable.

I will be contacting my insurance company and file a claim for the missed, rebooking and lost money for two hotels due to an intimidating check in agent(s). I was discriminated against based on age, gender and possibly being from the United States. I will also add that this agent falsified regulations as a passenger requesting wheelchair assistance for distance only. She willfully refused to refund my money for the aisle seat i requested, so this was theft.
I had no problem asserting myself with that agent. I went through the line a second time and an agent (probably from India) refused to allow me to fly and the woman agent I encountered was the manager.

I might also point out that all of the agents appeared to be immigrants from Third World countries.

Those check-in agents can easily exploit their position and deny passengers the right to fly if procedure if questioned and behave like bullies because aggression by passengers is not tolerated.

To be fair, the Eurowings agents were professional and provided exceptional service to passengers who had to rebooked due to a cancelled flight.

I hope my experience with the BA agents at Stuttgart Airport was a fluke and will never experience such humiliation and unprofessionalism again.

ironic that an airport which is the travel industry is not able to put themselves into their own customer's shoes. If you travel with luggage to a destination, chances are high you will want to return also with luggage. Escalators which can carry luggage up, but only stairs down!?!?! Bus transfers because too frugal for customer care!!! Elevators which are hard to find and typically out of service? positive are the new scanners in T1, but overall unfathomably ignorant to the needs of their customers, the travelers

Horrible place

Horrible place. Airport staff at the security check imposing questionable rules and when questioned about the exact rules (is it one liter bag or one liter of liquids (up to 100ml each) combined?) calling on the security and acting very rude. Staff refused to give their names, HIDE their badge while talking to me and refused to provide any email or phone for complains. Just horrible and disgusting customer service.

Stuttgart Airport wants to be an elite…

Stuttgart Airport wants to be an elite international airport, but the sad reality, is, it’s just a small provincial airport.

Check in Agent sent us to Security Check at Terminal 3, but they closed directly in front of us. So needed to take the walk back.

Thanks to Brexit. You need to walk through immigration to go to your gate.

And this is a pure disaster. You have a fully booked flight to London and 3 airplanes to Turkey. So 500 passengers are packed in the staircase and 1 German Immigration Officer on duty.

Very well done Airport Stuttgart and Bundespolizei.

Absolut nightmare. People waiting for 2hours in line.
