Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the service, finding the staff rude and unprofessional. They also frequently complained about the pricing structure, noting that initial low fares often escalated significantly due to numerous additional fees for bags and other services, making the overall cost higher than expected. The customer service was consistently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and often outsourced, leading to unresolved issues and frustration. The booking process also caused problems, with many experiencing unexpected cancellations and difficulties with rebooking or obtaining boarding passes. However, some people were satisfied with the actual flights, describing them as smooth and on time, with helpful and pleasant cabin crew. A few customers also appreciated the initial low prices, especially for short flights, and found the GoWild Pass beneficial.

I would not fly with these guys or hope for human service

I would not fly with these guys. The service is. Non existent. I remember when I was waiting outline in the airport waiting to be serviced and all the frontier workers just left While I was waiting And saying, excuse me, I'm here for a flight Even before it was 60 minutes Before the flight took off. Even though the online app told me to Check in at the counter despite me having valid credentials. I called their customer service more than five times, even after their flight. I was also dealing with a medical condition Which I would try to. Endure. Which is not recommended to fly with, but I put to much hope on the customer service i was proven wrong. Do not go over these people, I suggest American Airlines or United. Do not go with Spirit and do not go with Frontier.

Terrible experience with Frontier…

Terrible experience with Frontier Airlines! We almost missed our flight because of an extremely unprofessional employee named Brenda. She was unable to print my husband’s boarding pass and instead sent us to customs clearance, where they immediately told us this had nothing to do with them and it was a Frontier issue.

When we returned, Brenda kept saying “I don’t know, I can’t help” and made zero effort to resolve the problem. We asked for another customer service representative, and the second agent fixed everything in just 2 minutes.

This situation caused unnecessary stress and nearly cost us our flight. Frontier needs to train their staff better—Brenda was completely unhelpful and unprofessional. It happened at Chicago O’hare aeroport!

Frontier Airlines, Avoid like a Plague

The Frontier Airlines plane ticket seems cheap enough first until I checked in and found it doesn’t include a carry on baggage. $80 each way, that’s in addition to $25 seat each way. Also, for some reason my birthdate doesn’t much my TSA KTN, so I called to correct it, they charge an extra $99 to correct it which btw is their fault. Avoid this airline like a plague, never again, and I’m telling everybody.

This is the worst airline in the United…

This is the worst airline in the United States. Flights are delayed, planes are in poor condition, passengers are left stranded on the tarmac for an hour due to aircraft breakdowns, passengers are mistreated, you upgrade your seat, they charge you, don't give you the seat, and then refuse to refund your money. In short, they are irresponsible. If you can choose another airline, I strongly advise you to do so. We would never fly with that disastrous company again.

Never, ever fly Frontier.

This airline turned what should’ve been a simple Denver-to-San Diego getaway into a full-scale disaster. Frontier failed us at every step with a level of indifference so astounding it borders on contempt.

We arrived at our gate before the boarding cutoff. The agent — rude, dismissive, and openly unprofessional — refused to acknowledge the time, refused to call a supervisor, refused to give her name, and then literally hid behind her monitor before vanishing. When we finally located a supervisor, he made it clear he felt no obligation to help us at all. Only after pressing did he begrudgingly book us for a flight the next morning — forcing us to miss our car rental and be charged the full amount despite never using it.

When we finally reached San Diego, our trip unraveled even further. We paid more than double for a replacement rental… and then discovered our luggage never arrived. Neither the Denver nor San Diego Baggage Service Office could locate it. Our vacation was already crippled, but now we were forced to buy clothes, toiletries, medication replacements, and essentials we had packed — thousands of dollars in unexpected expenses piled on because Frontier could not perform the basic task of delivering a checked bag.

The next morning, Denver BSO told us they “had eyes on the bag” and would send it on the next flight. That flight came and went. No bag. No updates. No accountability. Just a constant runaround between more than 50 calls to BSO offices, Customer Service, and Central Baggage Services in Atlanta — each department redirecting us to another with zero resolution.

When we attempted to file a claim online, Frontier’s own system blocked us due to a Voluntary Separation (VSUP) being placed on our luggage without our knowledge or consent. It took an email to the corporate office in Denver just to get the system unlocked. The online claim process took seven hours to complete… only for Frontier to deny it almost instantly.

To call this unacceptable is an understatement.

And as if the nightmare wasn’t complete, Frontier oversold our return flight home and casually told me they’d refund my ticket and I could “figure it out” myself — or take a 17-hour connecting route. Only the kindness and competence of the San Diego check-in agents got me home. Frontier themselves certainly didn’t.

At this point, words barely capture our disgust. Our new family rule is simple:

If Frontier is the only way to get there, we are not going. Period.

Never again will we give Frontier the chance to treat us — or anyone in our family — with this level of negligence, disrespect, and outright disregard. For an airline that calls itself “the best in the industry,” the only accurate response is bitter laughter.

An abomination of an experience from end to end.

Great product let down by sub-par on the ground service

Flew JFK-MCO recently and was worried considering the reviews and rep' of Frontier however, flight was on time, aircraft was clean and spacious (for the length of journey) and the cabin crew were great. Landed ahead of time and luggage was out swiftly.

However Frontier were let down by their ground staff at MCO. When I approached a lady to ask where my specific car rental company was located she mumbled under her breath "some folk just dont f**ing listen" and decided to put an announcement out over the tannoy instead of just answering me quickly and easily.

Then the other issue is with seat pricing. I get that it's part of the revenue model for all airlines however, when I pay for up front seats and they are not given the refund should be easy to get. It should not have taken me to send several emails to their CEO as their "service" centre did not know how to help.

All in all would fly Frontier again however, they need to up their game as the service surrounding the amazing cabin crew and flight staff is letting them down.

Frontier Frustration

Deceptive pricing model. I paid for my flight first—only afterward did they reveal that it would cost another $70 each way just to bring a carry-on. They lure you in with a low fare, then the bag ends up costing more than the seat. Why does it cost more to bring a bag than to bring a person?

They’re also completely non-transparent about delays. I arrived early after confirming there were no delays—rep on the phone even said they’d notify customers a day in advance if anything changed. All signs said “on time” until boarding, when they suddenly announced a four-hour delay. Once we finally boarded, they announced another hour delay—with everyone already trapped on the plane.

Treat your customers with honesty and respect, and maybe they’ll come back. I won’t.

Horrible company

Horrible company! I'd give them zero stars. They have good prices for flights but they nickel and dime you with luggage, weight restrictions, and even checking in. Fees are ridiculous! Will never fly with them ever again!

A flight delay made me cancel my trip

My flight got delayed by 2 hours, which meant I would miss my connecting flight. The Frontier staff were rude and unhelpful. The only other flights they could get me on were overnight layovers, which I paid extra not to have in the first place. I ended up having to cancel my entire trip.

Horrible Airline

Horrible Airline. We bought insurance and it doesn’t cover anything. So if you decide to cancel. Good luck. They won’t refund you. They’re policy is very misleading as they say you can cancel but for a good enough to them reason. They kept our money. I even emailed the CEO and no response. So he’s not any better than his staff. No wonder they’re won’t refund. They need your money. So be careful. Best to just not use them. Cheap flights but very risky ! Don’t use them period. You’ll be better off .

'll start with what happened to us at…

'll start with what happened to us at Chicago Ohara Airport when checking in for flight 44 departure 6.30 a.m. to Cancun on October 26, 2025. when checking in at home, I made a mistake and the system blocked me. Well, I promised that I would be able to resolve this issue at the airport. But that wasn't it. The frontiera Airlines supervisor simply refused to solve our problem, poking some number at the time of 4 a.m. for a minute. When asked where to contact us, she said I don't know and left. We ran all over the airport, no one knows anything. be careful when registering online. Since no one will solve your problem later, thank you again to this woman at the far counter, she worked on the right. Here's a man with a capital letter!A vacation could be ruined, and that's a lot. fortunately, there are good security guards in the terminal, he led us back to the reception desk and there a Russian-speaking woman did not send us into the forest but solved the problem . Unfortunately, I can't remember her name on M. I WAS JUST IN a state of SHOCK! That's what managers should be like! I'll forgive you to thank her for our reservation number YMV43R. Be careful when registering online. Since no one will solve your problem later, thank you again to this woman at the far counter, she worked on the right. Here's a man with a capital letter!

HORRIBLE AIRLINE

I was booked on a Frontier flight that morning, and everything provided emails, the app, and my boarding pass all listed Terminal E. When I arrived, the flight was actually leaving from Terminal D. There was no gate change Frontier simply gave the wrong information everywhere. By the time I got to the correct gate, the plane had already pushed back.

At the ticket counter, I saw at least five other passengers experiencing the exact same issue. Frontier offered to rebook my 6 a.m. flight for 3 p.m., with a fee, which would have caused me to miss my return flight and ruined my plans to spend the day with my family.

I asked about canceling and refunding my return flight, and they said I could but with a fee and only the return flight. I spoke to a supervisor, who offered a travel credit. I declined, since I will never fly Frontier again, and requested a full refund instead. I submitted proof (screenshots showing the incorrect terminal) at the airport around 7:04 a.m., and by the time I got home at 8:20 a.m., I received this response:

“We understand your concern about the gate number discrepancy. As per your boarding pass, it shows Gate E11, while our reservation system reflects Gate D11. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Please note that your booking does not meet the eligibility criteria for a refund under our current policy. Refunds are only applicable if the request is made within 24 hours of booking and the departure is more than 7 days away. Otherwise, our voluntary cancellation policy applies, which may include applicable charges and fare differences.”

Frontier acknowledged their mistake, yet they still denied a refund, citing irrelevant policies about canceling within 24 hours of booking. I was at the airport on time, ready to fly, and missed my flight due to Frontier’s error. This experience was completely unacceptable.

Terrible experience with Frontier Airlines – zero customer care and endless hidden charges

From start to finish, our experience with Frontier Airlines was an absolute nightmare.

We first encountered problems just trying to check in online, which turned out to be impossible. When we contacted the helpdesk for assistance, they were completely unwilling to offer any help whatsoever. Instead, they simply told us that if we wanted help, we’d have to pay €25 per person — essentially washing their hands of any responsibility.

Next came the checked baggage fiasco. We had clear proof from the third-party booking site that we were each allowed 20kg of checked luggage. We were only 1.3kg over each, and despite showing documentation, the counter staff showed no flexibility or understanding whatsoever. We were told we could “move things around,” but since our carry-ons were already full, we had no choice but to pay €75 each for being just slightly over. No mercy, no reason, just fees.

To make matters worse, the agent at the counter was incredibly rude. When I tried to switch the scale from pounds to kilograms so I could understand the exact weight, he snapped at me and threatened that if I touched it again, I’d be sent to the back of the queue. Unbelievable behavior for someone supposedly there to help customers.

And the final insult — once we’d paid the ridiculous penalty, the same agent suddenly offered to let us check in our handheld luggage as well, which made absolutely no sense after charging us so much for being slightly over the limit.

Overall, the experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and exploitative. Frontier Airlines has zero customer service, predatory fees, and staff who treat passengers with disrespect. I will never fly with them again, and I strongly recommend others to avoid this airline at all costs.

I have flown this airline too many…

I have flown this airline too many times to count and never, ever had a bad experience with them. How can that be? I've read and heard about bad experiences for other travelers, but not for me. Online, their website is easy to use, pay for, book. They depart on time 99% of the time. Flight attendants are nice and respectful in my experiences. Arrivals on time. Seats are too small, but I overlook that because their prices are insanely LOW compared to the others, discount or not. Anytime you can fly from FLL to PHL for $24 r/t incl taxes is LOW to me. How bad can the flight be? Planes were clean, service was fine. I have only positive to say about them. Never had a bad flight.

Avoid at all cost

Absolute gangsters. If a normal person behaved the way this airline did they would be arrested. Booked a flight from LAX to LAS. Paid extra for a seat. Had a seat number when we arrived the airport.

Went through security got the to gate and our name along with 7 other people were called. When we went up to the desk they told us that the flight had been over sold and told us that we may not get on the flight and we had to wait until boarding was complete. When boarding was complete the supervisor informed us we won't not get on and he would book us on another flight the following day. If he had have booked us on that flight we would have missed our flight back to the UK.

So I no other option but to pay over $500 to get an Uber from LAX to Las Vegas. I then called the following morning to get a refund and to get some kind of compensation. When I called I was advised that I can get a refund for the flight but not for the seats we paid extra for or any other costs.

I'm of the opinion that because we had no checked on luggage we were the easiest option for them. They were happy to take the booking then offer a refund for the seat even though they know people would not get on the flight. They don't care about the associated costs of travelling to and from the airport and any further travel plans that their greed as cost.

If you do find your self in this position don't waste time and energy speaking to their staff in LAX the two male supervisors I spoke to were useless and both showed zero compassion and offered zero help. Avoid this airline at all costs.

This needs to be told

This needs to be told. A trip booked in advance: MIAMI - SAN Juan, Puerto Rico. Departure time: 10:25 AM, return time: 6:58 PM. Today I received a notice indicating that my departure and return flights have been modified. From 10:25 AM it becomes 8:45 PM!!! And from 6:58 PM it becomes 5:22 PM (this change is acceptable). We pay approximately €140 for each flight, without luggage. They offer us the option to accept the change or accept alternatives, the cheapest being €680, or even a refund. The alternatives are devised by shameless people, since they change your flight just because they want to and offer you crap. It's actually cheaper to miss the flight we've booked and take another flight with another airline or their own company than to accept the alternatives. Thanks for this, Frontier. Taking care of the customer isn't your thing. It seems incredible that a country like the US has companies where it seems like there's no one at the wheel. Anything goes, and it shouldn't be this way. Recommendation: Pay more if necessary but stay away from Frontier.

This was my first and definitely my last time I will fly this airline

This was my first time flying with Frontier Airlines, and I can confidently say it will be my last. The airline’s pricing structure is extremely deceptive and misleading. I needed to book a one-way flight for the following day, and Frontier initially appeared to offer the lowest rate at $153, which seemed reasonable given the short notice.
After booking, I discovered that Frontier requires passengers to check in their bags online and pay for them in advance. Not only do they charge for checked luggage, but they also apply a fee to carry-on bags—$45 for each piece. I decided to take care of this at the airport instead of paying online.
My flight was scheduled for 6:30 AM. When I arrived at the airport, I realized I was required to download Frontier’s app and complete the check-in process myself; otherwise, there was an additional $25 charge. Because I chose to check my luggage at the airport, the fee jumped from $45 to $69 per bag.
I was unable to access my email to retrieve my confirmation number and asked the staff at the counter for assistance. The staff member I approached appeared indifferent, simply writing my last name on a luggage tag without offering further help. Eventually, another staff member arrived, but she also seemed unconcerned about assisting me. She wrote down my confirmation information, but did so in a way that made it difficult to read the letters and numbers.
Overall, this was the worst airline experience I have ever had. The hidden fees, complicated check-in process, and unhelpful staff have ensured that I will not fly with Frontier Airlines again.

Frontier’s overall service is terrible – worst experience ever

Unfortunately, my entire experience with Frontier’s overall service has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I’m leaving this comment so others know that the service as a whole was unacceptable and that this is how you lose customers. Their policies and general treatment of passengers feel extremely unfair and like they’re essentially robbing the public. It’s just not right.
💩🤮
