Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the service, finding the staff rude and unprofessional. They also frequently complained about the pricing structure, noting that initial low fares often escalated significantly due to numerous additional fees for bags and other services, making the overall cost higher than expected. The customer service was consistently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and often outsourced, leading to unresolved issues and frustration. The booking process also caused problems, with many experiencing unexpected cancellations and difficulties with rebooking or obtaining boarding passes. However, some people were satisfied with the actual flights, describing them as smooth and on time, with helpful and pleasant cabin crew. A few customers also appreciated the initial low prices, especially for short flights, and found the GoWild Pass beneficial.

Avoid at all costs!

Without a doubt the single most abysmal airline and the single worst corporation I have ever dealt with. Flight was cancelled (happens) and in-person agents there gave me a 1800 number to call for support, which quoted me a 244 minute wait time. Both the phone agent and in-person agent said I would be reimbursed for a hotel and rebooking fee, but neither offered to help in real-time. Though I was refunded for the price of my ticket (and the $69 carry-on...) and offered $100 in compensation, I was later denied the refund after submitting documentation of everything (in 4 days, instead of the quoted 48 hour review time), as "only in-person hotel vouchers and rebookings are reimbursed." That means the nonexistent, not offered help from the in-person airport agents, who pushed me to the phone, and who promised me I would be reimbursed, would be the only way to get money.
Make sense? Good. If you are lobotomized, then you will make for a great 'resolution specialist' at Frontier. The phone line is spotty (I tried to call 17 times one morning and the crackly AI menu dropped out every single time before I could talk to a human being) and the chat line has a loop of AI prompts that can be overriden if you ask to talk to a resolution specialist twice or more. The agents are worse than useless, they are underpaid idiots whose only competence is protecting pennies ripped from poor idiots who chose to fly with this airline and defending the precious profits of cynical and disgusting leech upper management who truly hate them (I'm singling out the $8 million annual salaried CEO here, too, just for fun). They will deflect, kick the can, pass the buck, whatever you want to call it- and invent policy after the fact to keep you from money, and lie to you about it the entire way through.
Do not, under any circumstances, fly Frontier. Want to go see Seattle? Walk there. Grandma died and you need to get to a funeral in Minneapolis? Don't disrespect her memory and upbringing of you by flying a disgusting airline she wouldn't have approved of. Train, car, bike, handstand, unicycle, roller skates, push mower- anything is better than Frontier. I would rather walk on my hands cross-country through broken glass in 100 degree heat (Celsius) than deal with this disgusting, underhanded, cowardly, nebulous hole of accountability.

Worst day ever

Worst day ever! “Fronteir Airlines” is the worst airline I have ever been on. They don’t give you stroller tags when you check in , flight attendants told Me when I board I’ll get one. Get in line to board and they said you should have gotten this stroller tag before we boarded. Our flight was delayed over 2 hrs fine can’t help that but they brought in a different plane and moved everyone’s seats. They changed our seats 3 bloody times before we were able to sit down. Me traveling with my whole family and split us up and couldn’t even all sit together. The flight attendants boarding us were obnoxiously rude. The seats are awful they are hard plastic they are not even padded. They do not give complimentary drinks or snacks. You must pay for everything. And they make you check your carryons. I told them hell no I have a 4 year old and need my carryon . Then they told us the wrong bag return and had to wait . FFS! ridiculous. Don’t fly FRONTIER AIRLINES!!!AWFUL DAY!

Customer assistance is not really available.

I went all in with Frontier — credit card, GoWild Pass, everything — and my first attempt to book a flight has been a nightmare. The website crashes, the 800 number drops every call after 5–10 seconds, and the chat just loops you back to the broken website. WhatsApp is a long wait and feels like a bot.

There’s no way to reach a real person. Really disappointing first experience, and I regret spending money on this airline.

Cannot book a flight

I have tried to book a flight literally dozens of times without success -- in my desktop browser, the flight selection page hangs without displaying any flights. If I use my phone, I can usually select flights, but when I click "Continue" a cryptic error message stating "Passenger information is inadequate for selected flights" is displayed twice. My information has not changed and I've had a Frontier Miles account for eight years! Frontier suggests chatting with them, but all that's on the other end is a bot which lies.

Direct fligth booked! Return Fligth was cancelled and yourney extendet to 4 times original travel time

Booked direct-flight from Orlando to dom-rep and return For my family! After some days received an information that I need to choose from other options ( the return flight wasn*t available anymore, surely not weather related since spirit was flying almost at the same time, same route). Other options were: fly at least one day earlier or later, get fully refunded ( which was only about 25% of what we have paid for the return trip) or fly via puerto rico (which extendet our trip from 3 hours to 11 hours and finally due to postponement to 12,5 hrs) Since we are travelling with 2 small children we specifically decided on a direct flight which would arrive during day time! Now journey is extendet by 9,5 hours and we arrive after 2 am! This was our last fligth with Frontier airlines!

I took my first and maybe last Frontier…

I took my first and maybe last Frontier flight today. There was an issue with the date of birth on my reservation. I have TSA Pre Check and Clear. They sent be back to the gate agent to have it fixed. She assured me it was fixed. I went back to the TSA line. It was not fixed. I was held up for almost an hour.

I take my flight and then contact Frontier online to fix the issue. After explaining everything, the chat person tells me I have to start all over again in WhatsApp.

Now I’ve spent 30 min in the chat and start over again in WhatsApp. They guy keeps telling me to send a picture of my ID and when I do sent it he keeps telling me to send it again.

I’ve now spent almost 3 hours trying to get my DOB fixed and it still isn’t fixed. I’ve never had this problem with any other airline.

I rarely write bad reviews

I rarely write bad reviews; if I could give Frontier Airlines a zero, I would.
My first bad experience was when they tried to charge me $75 just to correct the spelling of my name, something that should have been simple and reasonable to fix.

Second, the seats felt paper-thin and extremely uncomfortable, making the flight unpleasant from start to finish.

But the final straw came on my return flight. I had a bag weighing 56 lbs (over their 40 lb limit) and measuring 68 linear inches (over their 62-inch limit). I completely understood the $100 oversized bag fee; no problem there; however, however, the rude representative at the counter informed me I had to pay $100 for the oversized fee, an additional $79 check-in fee, and another $25 fee just to use her services. When I asked why I needed to pay a separate check-in fee on top of the oversized charge, she looked at me and said, “You have 6 minutes to make up your mind and tell me what you’re going to do.”

That was my first and last time flying with Frontier. I’ll gladly spend my money elsewhere before I ever step on one of their planes again

TICKET AGENT WITH ISSUES

This review has to do with a ticket agent at a gate for Frontier Airlines. We got to the airport 4 hours early and we hovered in the gate vicinity the entire time it was my daughter's first time to fly and she was stressed out. I kept assuring her that everything will be fine. I had checked us into the flight 24 hours before paid for our bags and assigned our seats however the seats were not assigned once we had our boarding passes. Now I'm going to admit that we had no idea that you had to be on a flight up to 40 minutes before the flight ever leaves even though we had checked in - that's never been my experience in the past and I worked for American Airlines and was familiar with ticketing. As I said we were in the gate vicinity the entire 4 hours. We didn't hear that the flight was boarding NOTHING so we decided to check in and see if we were sitting together. There was a lot of drama happening at the front of the ticketing desk so we waited our turn patiently for over 15 minutes. The ticket agent let the drama people on the plane.
It's finally our turn and I ask if there's any chance that we can sit together since she's so nervous. This woman looks at me with the most hateful face and makes and exasperated sound and says "You're not getting any seat we've already boarded the plane, then makes the peace sign and adds "You're 2 minutes too late" I try to explain to her we've been here over 4 hours and she said again "2 minutes too late I already unchecked you" I step away and watch her help and allow two more people on the plane. We had to drive to a different airport and pay for another flight and when we landed our bags were behind locked glass doors because Frontier Airlines doesn't keep employees at any airports unless they have a flight arriving or departing. We sat in front of that office untip 2am and finally got our bags. I don't know why this ticket agent acted this way towards us but I am not letting this go until I get a suitable resolution. She's a older Hispanic female everyone she let on the plane was brown skinned and we are white -- just an observation.

I arrived 1 hr before flight was…

I arrived 1 hr before flight was scheduled to depart and no agent was at the counter and never came .for 20 mins. Was instructed by an airport costaodian to just go through TSA check point which I did and arrived at the boarding gate 35 mins before scheduled departure time only to see my plane take off before scheduled departure time. The agents I finally encountered were very rude and unhelpful and very very unhelpful. So now I have to wait 19 hrs at the airport for the next available flight and then have a 16 hr lay over with the new flight and a refund is not an option even though I purchased the flight protection plan. For 18 $ extra dollars , lost personal items at the tsa check point from my luggage that I paid to check at the desk which no agent was never present. Not to mention the importance of my arrival that was purchased that I am not going to be able to conduct by business scheduled for today 8/3/2025 . Because i can not get a refund of my money so that i can possibly book with a different airline and possibly have the chance to make my important meeting scheduled today. No I have to miss my important business meeting lose wages and time and am being forced by this Frontier airlines This is very unprofessional and very bad business . Crappy service , and basically a scam .not any offer of compensation or any apologies . Very incompetent and unprofessional airline and i will not use or recommend Frontier ailines to anyone. . DO NOT FLYFRONTIER. Not sincerly ¥ J̌ĘŘ ¥ JEREMY TALIAFERRO

Terrible airline. Avoid at all costs.

Terrible airline. Avoid at all costs as they cancel flights and then don't offer any workable reroute. They refuse to rebook with other airlines. My flight from Denver to NYC was cancelled and the next flight to NYC they offered was 3 days later..
they the offered to fly me to DC (4 hours by car from NYC) the following day. Impossible to contact customer service and rude staff on the ground when flight cancelled. Customers used to European consumer protection be particularly wary of how this cowboy company is allowed to operate.

I honestly started to feel sick towards the end of the flight, while landing. I told the flight attendant Mrs.April how I was feeling and she quickly assisted and got me some water and was willing to get me the necessary assistance. She was very accommodating and kind and I appreciate her willingness to help and positive attitude. Please hire more like her!

Terrible experience with Frontier…

Terrible experience with Frontier Airlines. I was traveling from Washington to Las Vegas, with a connection to Phoenix — a flight that takes only one hour from Las Vegas — and still, I missed my connection due to delays caused by the airline.

It all started in Washington, where the plane spent almost an hour going in circles on the runway without taking off, and no clear explanation was given. Because of that delay, I missed my connecting flight in Las Vegas.

The worst part? Frontier offered no real solution. The staff was indifferent, unhelpful, and completely lacking empathy. They offered me replacement flights that would take up to 17 hours to get to Phoenix — a route that normally takes just 1 hour.

It was a complete joke. I was sent from one place to another without answers, without support, and no one took responsibility.

Flying with Frontier was an absolute disappointment. I will never fly with them again and do not recommend this airline to anyone. They should be ashamed of how they treat passengers. Zero stars.

Welcome Aboard… the Most Inhumane Airline in America. Zero stars if possible.

I would give zero stars if possible. I had purchased a Priority First Boarding ticket and paid extra for carry-on luggage with Frontier Airlines. When boarding began, I was among the first in line as expected. However, I was abruptly told that my e-ticket had to be printed out. Despite showing the digital version on my phone, I was forced to step aside and wait until everyone else had boarded. After a long wait — and with the flight already delayed by over 4 hours — I was told I had been bumped off the flight. No explanation, no apology. Just a cold “that’s policy.”

I was completely baffled by the way I was treated. The tone was inhumane, and I was spoken to as if I were a nuisance rather than a paying customer who had paid extra for priority service and luggage. It was already late at night, and I had a very important film shoot the next day in North Carolina. This wasn’t just a missed flight — it jeopardized my entire project and professional reputation.

I calmly asked for a written statement or some kind of compensation. The staff said they were a third-party contractor and couldn’t help me. One of them even said they “didn’t appreciate my tone,” though I had remained respectful throughout. I began recording the conversation after being met with nothing but indifference. After much back-and-forth, they offered me another flight — but it was the next day in the evening, which would make me miss the shoot entirely.

To save the project and not lose an important client, I had no choice but to purchase an alternative flight with another airline at nearly $600 out of my own pocket. Frontier never compensated me. When I posted my experience on social media, they responded publicly asking to take the matter to private messages — but then never followed up. Despite many messages and emails since, I have received no explanation, no refund, and no apology.

Frontier Airlines is by fa Worst Airline Experience- Avoid at All Costs!r the most…

Frontier Airlines is by far the most unreliable, customer-hostile airline I've ever encountered. The flight from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale was abruptly canceled without proper notice

Here’s why you should NEVER fly with Frontier:

No accountability: They canceled last-minute and offered zero meaningful solutionsjust a voucher for future flights (with their terrible service?).

Hidden fees everywhere: What looks like a "cheap fare" becomes expensive once they nickel-and-dime you for seats, carry-ons, and even WATER.

Abysmal customer service: Hours on hold, robotic responses, and no urgency to fix their mistakes.
Save yourself the stress pay extra for ANY other airline. Frontier doesn’t deserve your business.

I really liked the customer service…

I really liked the customer service agents at the gate. The young gentleman who helped me upgrade my seat for free at Orlando was really funny and so attentive. The service to get onboard was efficient and quick-you can't really expect a 5 star experience on a low cost airline lol! I'm European and we travel Ryanair so I'm fully aware of what low budget entails! The flight attendants were a mixed bag but if you are friendly and courteous, that goes a long way. I will travel happily with them again.

Discrimination Flight Attendant

Flew Frontier yesterday. Paid for checked carry-on. There was not enough room for a few passengers carry-ons. So the flight attendant was telling the passenger these are for customer who have paid. However, she double back to my family to only ask us about our carry-on and if we paid. When I said yes, she states let me see your boarding pass. Irregardless to the fact that ours was paid. She began to move our carry-on to turn it upside down and squeeze it in tight space on the other size. To accommodate someone who did not pay. I stated to her hold on my son has liquid refrigerator medication that needs to be upright. She proceeds to ask me to get the medication out the bag. Our son is disable and was his first plane ride. I didn't need to keep up with medication for a flight. My husband and I needed to be able to take care of our son. Not to mention we were a African American family the only family you asked to verify that we paid for a checked carry-on. We kept our carry-on between our feet something we paid for.
