Unlikely to use again

A few reasons why I wouldn’t use this car park again. I didn’t feel the entrance to the car park was particularly clear. Also, it was slightly further from the airport than I believe is described. Upon leaving car I was given a ticket, but it wasn’t emphasised that I needed to hold onto this for the return journey. When returning to my car which had been moved ready for pickup, those working were looking for my key and it transpired that the completely wrong details had been attached to the key, including surname, vehicle registration and date of pickup - this was a little concerning. I wouldn’t place blame on the person looking for my key as he seemed equally as confused. Just overall seemed pretty disorganised.

I strongly advise against using this company.

They took payment for a valet service during our holiday, but the service was never provided. When I requested a refund, I was told that I needed to send an email asking for my money back. I did so immediately, and it has now been over a week with no response.

When I called to follow up, I was informed that the person responsible for replying to emails is currently on holiday, and that I should simply wait and not worry. This is not an acceptable way to handle customers’ money.

I feel cheated and robbed. This level of service is extremely unprofessional, and I would recommend others stay away to avoid similar issues.

Well what an experience from the staff at flying Scot to and from our destination. Greeted by Andy at the front desk and all was explained fully no rush then passed to Willie and Patricia. We were greeted with a big smile and were reassured the car would be safe and secure at all times. On our return one phone call and Patricia was there as detailed well done flying Scot . What a capture you have made with Andy at the helm of the business.

Won't use again

I wouldn't use Flying Scot Edinburgh again, although there were some positives to my visit.

Positives:
- My EV was charged while I was away, so ready to drive home at midnight with no need to find a rapid charger on the way home. The cost of this was included in the parking cost.
- The bus came to collect us from the airport within 15 minutes of calling them.
- The car park is easy to find.

Negatives:
- The service offered in reality does not reflect what is offered on the website. I booked a "Flying Scot Electric" space which is described on the website as, "wider bays right at the entrance. Self park and bring your own cable." There are no self park spaces, the space at the entrance is jam packed with double and triple parked vehicles. There is no clear space to park an EV, just a few drop off spaces at reception.
- On arrival, the woman at the desk said she didn't really know where I should park, but did eventually say she would park the car "in the shed" and plug it in.
- I had to ask for a vehicle check before leaving the car, which staff were surprised about. I would expect nothing less than a check of the car to agree and record the condition it was in when dropped off, should anything happen to it.
- When my car was moved by car park staff, it was the same woman who checked me in that moved it. She had her left arm tightly strapped against her body in a sling and the other staff laughed at me when I said I wasn't happy at someone with only one functional arm moving my car in the chaos that was the rest of the parked cars. I was told she was "a better driver than you are, so don't worry." They then said she was insured to drive like that on public roads which I am highly sceptical of, unless in an adapted vehicle, which mine is not.
- We got on the bus right away, but waited a substantial time in the car park, with lots of "we're just waiting on one more person" comments while letting lots more customers on, even those who had just arrived and had not even checked in at reception.
- The bus also services a car park a little bit up the road. The bus was then jammed full of people, and luggage was precariously piled in the wheelchair space three and four cases high.

Overall, my car was charged and returned to me in the same condition that I left it, which is what I paid for. However, it was unsettling to see the way cars were jammed in and the lack of care expressed by the staff. I would feel much more confident leaving my car in one of the long stay park and ride car parks, or at the airport itself next time. The service advertised for EVs on the website is not at all what happens in reality, the lackadaisical attitude of the staff and the sheer amount of cars that are packed in gives off a very unprofessional impression and I would rather spend my money elsewhere.

Absolute shambles of a place!!!

Absolute shambles of a place!!!
Advertise a bus every 5 mins….lucky if you only wait 30 mins! You come back at 3am and your car is blocked in as car park over booked…wait in the rain with your family to get your car unblocked! Cars parked out on the main road…surely that’s not secure parking? Also advertise 6 electric parking bays but have none?
When you come in to book your car in…they have 3 parking bays….so when busy there are cars everywhere which adds to the stress of going on holiday! Any sense you will pay the small difference to park somewhere safer and nearer to the airport!!

If you value your paintwork avoid!!

If you value your paintwork, don’t go near this car park! We booked through Ryanair after booking our flight, received confirmation (in french for reasons we still don’t know) but when my husband arrived to park they had no record of us. They honoured the booking, but the bus was waiting and he wasn’t given a ticket or any terms and conditions. He just left the key and trusted that our car would be parked carefully and looked after. When we returned, the bus driver wanted to see a ticket before he’d allow us onto the bus - we were finally allowed on, because we could prove we had a booking (albeit in French!) Ryanair could be to blame for that, but the lack of communication between the two companies is appalling. When we got back to our car, it wasn’t in a space - it had been parked in front of other cars. It quickly became apparent that the paintwork and light had been damaged on the driver side rear. We got Trish from the office - she was very nice actually - to inspect the damage and confirm that it had happened in their care. There was a ticket on the inside of the window with a diagram of a car showing no damage had been seen when our car was dropped off, but no signature - because we hadn’t been offered the opportunity to look around the car before getting on to the bus. Trish told us to email the office and they’d get back to us, so we did. We sent photos of the damage, including one of Trish standing beside it and images of the parking ticket, plus the compliment slip Trish gave us confirming the damage.
We asked if they could arrange for the damage to be rectified as soon as possible. I chased after a week and eventually got a reply 10 days after my initial complaint. This is what Andy, the transport manager, said “ As per our terms and conditions of parking… – please see below -:

All vehicles are inspected on arrival at the car park by a member of Lowcost/Flying Scot Edinburgh staff. Any customer not present at the inspection of their own vehicle agrees to the report submitted by the member of Lowcost/Flying Scot Edinburgh staff and therefore cannot claim at a later date for any damage on this report. Insurance cover can be arranged, if prior notification is given for a joint external inspection cost (£5.00) and please allow extra (30mins) for the check in to be done in time before departure. Otherwise your car would be parked under your own insurance and at your own risk.

The check in staff did note several defects on the car including / scuff off side rear . Our off site CCTV included their view and nothing was parked close enough to your vehicle or moved around where it was parked.

Unfortunately, under the circumstances we are unable to assist you further.”

Firstly we did not see terms and conditions, were not offered an inspection, but more to the point, there was no damage! Why on earth would we put ourselves through this stress if we had done the damage ourselves?? We have asked to see the cctv images and the report, but over a week has passed and no response has been forthcoming. They are basically calling us liars. We strongly suspect that our car was parked on the road outside the perimeters of the car park - many cars were parked nose to tail on both sides of the road as we approached in the bus. They are vulnerable to being scraped by passing vehicles, theft and being damaged against each other when being moved back to the car park for collection. This is a clear violation of customer trust. I don’t expect they will reply to me and I can sing for any compensation, so the best I can hope for is helping anyone thinking of parking there to take their business elsewhere.

Avoid - not as advertised

The worst airport parking experience we’ve ever had. I wish I’d read these reviews before booking.

Upon arrival to park, around 3am, it was just shambolic. Cars everywhere, no guidance. Rude staff. Waited along time sitting on the bus for it to actually depart for the airport (longer than 20 minutes)

The worst was when we arrived back at Edinburgh Airport. Despite the advertised buses every 20 minutes, we waited 50. We called after 25 to be told the bus was ‘on the way’. 25 minutes after that (when apparently the journey only takes 6 minutes) the bus arrived. No explanation, no apologies. Just poor service.

Ironically, a group of people arrived as the bus was arriving and jumped straight on. So in their view the service is probably outstanding but that was just pure luck. Our only saving grace was that our return journey was during the day and the weather was dry.

A bad end to a holiday when we were already exhausted with cranky kids. Would recommend no one use this parking service.

First Class Parking Service

Would give ten stars if i could .
I use Flying Scot Edinburgh regularly and have always found them to be efficient and friendly .
The owner Trish, couldn't be more welcoming and helpful . The last time I returned to a soft tyre and Trish actually changed my spare wheel herself while giving me a coffee .
The only criticism would be that it's time Carpark 2 was resurfaced to the high standard carried out in carpark 1 a couple of years ago , this really made a difference .
Other than that , i could not fault Flying Scot Edinburgh in the slightest .

Flying Scot damaged my car

Returned from my holiday on Thursday 10th July to no car, manager Trish told me that one of her drivers crashed my car into their bus on Monday 7th July so she has sent it away to a garage to get fixed (without my consent or without telling me that my car had been damaged) Flying Scot Airport Parking - Edinburgh Flying Scot Airport Parking
Because I didn’t have my driving license with me they couldn’t get me a hire car so they paid for a taxi home
I was told my car would be fixed and with me on Thursday night (10th)
Phoned on Friday 11th and asked to speak to Trish and asked for a hire car was told again that my car would be with me by tea time
Phoned yet again on Saturday 12th asked for a crime reference number and their insurance details asked to speak with Trish’ manager because she’s not returning my calls. Was told there is no-one higher up than her as she is the owner of the company. They eventually provided me with the phone number of the garage my car is in, prestige & performance cars Edinburgh, phoned them and they told me that my car would be ready and delivered to me today (Sunday 13th)
So we are now Sunday 13th afternoon I still have no car, the garage isn’t answering, Trish at flying Scot still isn’t answering my calls and I’ve contacted the police, next stop is my insurance
I am an NHS nurse and need my car for work
AVOID Flying Scot Airport Parking Flying Scot Airport Parking - Edinburgh AT ALL COSTS

Rigid unfeeling... Look out! Bad rescheduling and cancellation policy

Mon 23 June 3pm. Qatar closed its airspace, we were finalising our packing as leaving at 3am for the Flying Scot in Edinburgh. First time. Had a hell of a time trying to get any info from Qatar Airway. In the midst, there's this car park we paid £143 for. I called Flying Scot. I emailed admin, pleading for some leniency given the circumstances. Any leniency. All we wanted was a chance to rebook asap. Big fat cold email back to sort it with our holiday insurance. We have travel but no cancellation or interruption insurance. If we had, we would not be able to afford £143 for parking. Yes it's in their fine print. But you'd think that with 'so many' passengers at Edinburgh being impacted directly or indirectly by this closure, Flying Scot could show a little more compassion. A voucher, a part refund voucher, anything. I can only imagine how much money Flying Scot raked in by giving passengers a big cold NO. Not just the Monday 23 June, but until flights are sorted. And in the meantime, if you as a passenger are rebooked for later... you can forget about getting your money back, you need to spend that money again to book a space. Well, there are other car parks - and their RESCHEDULING and REFUND POLICIES are so much better. I should have known better and CHECKED the policy for changes. Better to pay a little more maybe than to book with rigid unfeeling Flying Scot Edinburgh.

On car drop

On car drop, which was 4am in the morning all went well. On return today I telephoned to let the company know I was ready to be picked up at the airport. No reply on first call second call a male answered and told me "that's nice" when I said I was waiting along with others yo be picked up. When the driver FINALLY arrived 30 minutes later he was extremely rude and unhelpful, not only to myself but to other elderly passengers who could have used a helping hand!! A horrible man...
Steer clear.....I won't be using this company again!

Zero Stars actually… still standing at…

Zero Stars actually… still standing at Bay 7 waiting on the bus to arrive alongside 50-60 others. All other buses have come and gone several times but still no show. When I called to ask what the trouble was I was very quickly talked over and the call was abruptly ended by the woman on the phone. Everyone is standing here frustrated and annoyed and wanting to get moving… Poor show having used this company for years - not anymore!

Valet Cost not refunded…

Have previously used many times without issues.
However, in November I booked a valet, while we were in Malta, which they were unable to do because it snowed.
Not unreasonable!
They said a refund would be paid to my card the following Tuesday.
However, despite emails, phone calls and a visit, some 6 months later, I am still to receive a refund.

Shambles

Shambles. Never again. We booked for the convenience of drop keys and they park for you. Info on Skypark web site states this is the service Flying Scot give. Didn't happen. Arrived at 3am, nowhere to park at reception. Got shouted at by bus driver for driving further in. Chaos of cars, people and luggage standing around. Car park pitch dark and so rough. Lost sight of bloke I had to follow to park. Didn't know what to do. He appeared and told me to park in the most impossible space to get into. Had to rush back to catch bus with luggage and wife on board! Stressed to the max at start of holiday. I've emailed a complaint but have low expectation of reply.
