A must-have for Austen-Fans. The atmospheric illustrations in warm colours of Sam Wolfe Connelly take the reader lightly back to another time. I love this book about the fine art of communication, about respect for one another, when people didn't click or swipe around on displays, but could write letters and make conversations. They could tell each other about right and wrong in an emotinal way, without the mass-media hysteria which rules our world nowadays.

I have purchased several Jane Austen illustrated books from Folio Society. The books are beautifully bound and illustrated. I love that they come in a book sleeve to protect the book for generations. The gift of "Emma" was well received by the "Emma" fan who received it.

They are wonderful products, but boy, do you pay for them. I know quality comes at a cost, but these books do seem a bit on the expensive side. That said, I wouldn't want them to cut corners. The problem is that I could only afford to buy books that are very special to me (Puckoon by Spike Milligan if you're interested!), rather than lots more if they were a bit cheaper.

This copy of Emma is truly stunning! The cover alone is one of the most beautiful book covers I’ve ever seen! Only thing I wish was different: the font size. I originally gave this to my mom, because Emma is her favorite Jane Austen. Sadly, she told me the print was too small. So I got to keep it. I have a visual disability, so I concur with my mom. I can still read this book. But in order to do so comfortably, I have to use glasses, a magnifying glass, and have good lighting. My eyesight is atrocious! But I can usually read good quality paper backs without a problem I also purchased a copy of Pride and Prejudice in this addition. It’s equally stunning. The artwork in both books is magnificent. But it also has small print. If you don’t experience visual challenges, you’ll probably be able to read these books without much of a problem, but if you do have visual challenges, I just wish they would make the font a little bit bigger, even if it would increase the cost. These books are not cheap, but they are worth it!

OH Nothing Better for a cold night that a good book and coffee. Jane Austen novels are wonderful, it transports you to an era of Etiquette, Elegance, and the intrigues are very juice, if you need a good time this is the book to be.
