I recently placed my first order with The Folio Society (placed 21 June 2026) and, unfortunately, encountered significant delivery problems with their courier partner, Spring GDS. The parcel was dispatched on 22 June but the tracking essentially stopped after 25 June. Despite multiple calls to customer service, I was initially told to wait. With an overseas trip booked for 17 July and no one at home to receive the package, I grew increasingly concerned — especially after seeing Spring GDS’s very poor Trustpilot rating (around 1.2/5 stars with hundreds of reviews citing lost parcels, long delays, and failed deliveries). I expressed my frustration clearly and requested a replacement sent via express shipping so I could receive the books before travelling. To my pleasant surprise, Folio Society handled the entire matter with remarkable speed and professionalism. They promptly approved and dispatched a full replacement on very short notice, well before my departure date. The replacement books arrived safely and in perfect condition. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the editions — the craftsmanship, binding, paper, and overall presentation are exactly what one expects from Folio Society’s reputation for premium books. While I hope Folio Society will seriously review their partnership with Spring GDS (given the consistently negative feedback from many customers), I want to give full credit where it is due: their customer service team listened attentively, took ownership of the issue, and resolved it in a way that went far beyond my expectations. They turned what could have been a disappointing first experience into a very positive one. I now look forward to placing many more orders in the future with confidence, thanks to their excellent support.
