Been with the Motley Fool for just under a year now and so far, it has been a good experience overall.
When I first joined, I was looking for an entry point into a "new-to-me" world of self-investing. Signed up for their Epic Bundle and Hidden Gems. The weekly recommendations and access to those services gave me some good ideas and starting points to build my portfolio. Learned quick that the markets are a dynamic thing, the recommendations you get from the Fool are great analysis/ thesis, but picking the right time to enter into a trade greatly influences any following profit/ loss. Same goes for profit taking. I will be moving on from the Fool at the end of this year's subscription to do a bit more "self-research", only because I have the extra time this year to do that, and can always return to their services later. The cancelation was extremely simple: I emailed the support crew with my request, and within less than an hour they had me switched from auto-renew ON to auto-renew OFF.
The only thing I wish wasn't part of the subscription are the continuous upselling-emails. Find that business model to be a bit outdated. But eventually you adapt to quickly filter those out, delete, and focus on the ones with actual content. For that reason I make this a 4 star review, not a fiver.
Otherwise I think it's a great membership.

I’ve been a member of Motley Fool Canada several times over the years, and every experience has been excellent. Their articles and recommendations have helped me make some very good financial decisions.
Recently, I decided to move into cash for the short term, so I emailed Stock Advisor Canada to disable the automatic renewal on my subscription. Their customer service was outstanding. I emailed them at 10:40 a.m., and by 11:00 a.m. they had already taken care of it. Fast, friendly, and efficient.
About a month ago, I was at the dentist and we ended up talking about markets and investing. My dentist recommended Motley Fool, and I thanked her and told her I was already a member. Word of mouth really is the best advertising.
I’ll definitely be using The Motley Fool and my Dentist services again in the near future! Five stars from me highly recommended!

Motley Fool gives expert stock advice and their customer service is outstanding! They responded quickly to my request for a refund and issued my refund immediately. I will definitely sign up with them again in the future. Thanks Natalie.

Motley Fool provided excellent information regarding the probability of growing my investments by recommending companies with future growth/income potential.
After 1 year, they automatically renewed my subscription. I asked them to cancel the renewal as I was fully invested with no new money to invest. They cancelled the renewal (with no questions asked) and refunded my money.
This is an honest, trustworthy company which I would recommend any investor to check out.

I’ve been using this service for several years now, and it has been very useful so far. My portfolio is largely based on their recommendations and has grown substantially, which I’m quite happy about. All of their services are consistent and delivered with the same high level of professionalism. The customer service is excellent — they respond quickly and always provide great options and clear solutions to any questions.

I re-enrolled with Motley Fool after more than a year. The advisors' opinions reassure me and help me make decisions about my future investments.

After my one year subscription, I was automatically charged again and my subscription renewed. I wasn’t doing enough with the membership and didn’t want to actually continue it. I asked them to cancel it and refund my money right away which they did *no questions asked* which was a very satisfactory outcome for me. I appreciate not being given a hard time over it since I cancelled *after* the renewal date. Five stars for the cancellation process. Four stars bc it wasn’t the right program for me.

Michelle was awesome. She was able to help and guide me through the process of upgrading my membership and was able to secure me the best price for the services I wanted. I am grateful for her help and time. Kudos.

I appreciate the detailed and honest reviews and justification given for stock recommendations. I am not deeply financially literate so this service gives me confidence in making smart choices, rather than just running after the hyped up stocks you see elsewhere online. I have only been purchasing stocks for little more than a year, so time will tell how my picks pan out in the 5 year time horizon. So far, so good.
The number of emails received regarding upselling to additional services, and hype that goes along with it, is a bit much. I can live with it for now. Occasionally I take them up on a new service.
So far, I've found member services to be very responsive to emails and easy to deal with. No problems there.

Great experience with The Motley Fool !
I had signed up had a quick runthrough and they are thorough, honest and helpful. Unfortunately life caught up to me and I needed some more time before committing and without question my money was returned in a prompt and helpful, stress free way.
Highly recommend The Foll's and live the sarcastic fun way to get involved in trading !!

For many reasons, I was unable to access the fool.ca info.
Finally contacted the fool.ca help site and they provided the answer. Was able to use this info to re-instate my access.
Many thanks to your help.

Very good general advice on investing strategies. Lots of detailed information on each stock on their list. The membership area is not transparent and does not lend itself to user management.

Good recommendations of high-reward bets. But, do not forget that fool.ca is not your financial advisor ;)

It helped me successful in my investment journey. The basic, simple and elegant solution for starting your investment journey will be with stock advisor canada. It is for long term investments and price is really small and reliable compare to several online investment services. I clubbed it with my TFSA and RRSP. Results are awesome. This is no brainer investment services. Just follow their advise and purchase either on recurring or lumpsum and sit back enjoy it growing.
Loved their articles and services like dividend investor, epic bundle. If you want spend your time on vacation and all math to some one trusted the it will be fool.ca. All suggestions are detailed analysis and experience basis. Never went wrong in my experience.

Immediately after paying for a 1yr subscription, I received an offer to upgrade to a bundle that would include high performing stocks, etc. I wasn't interested but if I were to act right away I could take advantage of a discount and the subscription fee I just paid would be applied to further discount the total. I decided to proceed because I understood there was a 30-day money back guarantee in place.
Less than 1 week after subscribing I found the service was not what I was expecting, certainly not worth what I'd paid. I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated in the number of emails I received trying to further upsell me, offering even better, more incredible stocks if I paid a bit more. I decided I would cancel.
BEWARE. If you did what I did and subscribe to a higher tier, they VOID the money back guarantee.
When I submitted my request for refund it was noted the upgrade was sold as non-refundable. They said it was clearly noted, but I don't recall seeing that. Maybe I saw something but it was phrased in such a way that I didn't realize the 30-day money back guarantee was being voided.
Regardless, I feel the company reneged on their promise/guarantee and now I'm stuck with a subscription I don't want and am not happy.
This company is not concerned at all with providing good stock buying advice. In fact most of their recommendations tank and lose you money in my experience. One year in and not one single suggested stock they have recommended has increased in value. The only thing they are focused on is selling you subscription after subscription to some new and fantastic stock list, that will no doubtedly lose you money. Steer clear of The Motley Fool or you will be fooled.
As you can see by all the reviews, Motley Fool hasn't had a good review in about three years. Likely this is the result of them becoming a company that cares more about upselling and filling up clients' email inboxes with promotions, sales missives and a lot of junk. Unless you're into that kind of thing, look elsewhere for your stock tips. Really, really.
