Happy Camper

Capital Up substantially on most of your recs, then of course don't forget the added bonus of dividends, that have really added up over the past few years. Although some are trading under purchase price, some members forget they are still returning great dividends, By not panic selling on solid companies, that are down on rec price, has really paid off for me,in the long run. Thanks guys. Regards Doug

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed in the performance of your service as of late. It's important to keep in mind that no financial publisher, The Motley Fool included, can guarantee that a recommended stock will not fluctuate. Investments are inherently a risk, and the market will vary.

We encourage our members to build a diverse portfolio of at least 25 stocks that they plan on holding for 5 years, minimum. We believe this pairing is the best way to counteract the whims of the market.

don't waste your money

don't waste your money. Ever after you pay money to join, they keep spamming you with new products/advise to buy.
Every stock I have bought due to their advise, immediately went down.

Fool On!

Disclaimer: I have not followed the Fool's advice of holding at least 25 shares for at least 5 years. But given my experience so far I believe doing so would be doing nothing more than indulging in a sunk-cost fallacy.

I joined MF Share Advisor (SA) back in September 2021 as part of an exclusive offer on my AMEX card to obtain a year's membership for $99. Soon after joining (and to be fair to MF) I received an offer from them to have free trades on the Stake platform for over a year, more than offsetting the cost of my first year's membership. I renewed for a second year for $199 after being offered a (no surprise as you'll see!) discount if I renewed early.

I still remember in my initial month's membership getting my first breathless e-mail from MF's marketing team, informing me of an exclusive chance to receive another one of their products at an incredible discount if I signed up quickly (I think the window was 48 hours). The e-mail left me in no doubt that this was an opportunity that didn't come around very often and that this unbeatable rate was in order to ensure that they could provide loyal Fools with as much experienced financial advice as cheaply as possible. The success of (the selectively chosen) shares seemed to speak for themselves. I murmured to myself at how good my timing was at signing up when I did to get this offer: how naive of me. I was close to pulling the trigger but resisted this impulse purchase, feeling I should see how Share Advisor pans out for the first few months before committing further. I'm glad I didn't fall for their now incredibly obvious upselling tactics. As sure as the tides ebb and flow, or as the sun rises in the east MF will come back to you every month with another unbelievable, exclusive, time-critical offer that you'd be, well, a Fool to miss out on! Read enough of these and the reek of desperation begins to filter through. If MF really are as successful as they claim, why do they constantly need to try and flog you deeply-discounted, never to be repeated, time-limited offers? To give you FOMO. The empty SA forums (4 posts in the last month) suggest either a limited number of consumers or an extremely disengaged customer base.

Now, to the actual results. MF are very happy to tell you about their successes but are far from transparent when it comes to their losers in their e-mails lauding the next service they are offering to you at deep discount. I purchased their 5 recommended SA starter stocks on joining and added a further 7 ASX stocks along with 1 US stock over the next 12 months. 7 of these picks are now in the red; their three worst perfomers of mine are down 86%, 80% and 54%. Their three best: up 15%, 12% and 12%!

There is a very small chance you can beat the market with MF. But it's a game of luck that your picks of their picks will be more winners than losers.

Thankfully I don't have all my eggs in one basket and the majority of my investments have gone into an ETF that has delivered slow but reliable growth in the same time frame. That is the best lesson MF has taught me.

I recommend you sell MF.

I needed to sort out a subscription mistake (on my part) and can report that the service from Fool was not only very efficient but I was treated with courtesy and respect.

**Review:**

**Review:**
My choice to commit a significant $13,000 to subscribe to The Motley Fool Australia was filled with optimism, but my experience has been far from satisfying. The constant stream of emails, touting profitable opportunities and reliable advice, proved to be overwhelming – often reaching more than 1,000 emails every week. Relying on their insights, I diligently followed their suggestions, only to encounter losses exceeding $100,000 due to their misleading recommendations. Strangely, my forthright review, which detailed these financial setbacks and offered solid proof, was unexpectedly removed, casting doubts on their transparency. This situation oddly resembles the circumstances surrounding the FTC's actions against Warrior Trading, prompting suspicions about their ethical practices. Their formerly responsive customer service has now fallen into silence for an extended period. My aspirations go beyond seeking a $13,000 reimbursement, as I contemplate teaming up with other affected individuals for a potential class action lawsuit against The Motley Fool Australia. This review stands as a reminder for others – highlighting the importance of thorough research before placing confidence in their commitments.

Fed up with the constant marketing emails

I have been a member of Share Advisor for 2 years but have not used the service much - attracted to the 2 year membership as so much cheaper for 2 years as first time subscriber. Not used much because of other personal pressures to concentrate on the shares. Reluctantly I have just renewed for another year to give it one last shot to determine benefits. I do agree with some of the reviews I really hate the immense marketing materials send every week to entice you to sign up for other packages. It takes a lot of time to read. I have stopped and started deleting but still clogs up my email. After one year, if I leave it will because I am sick of the constant barrage of additional marketing emails.

Ceasing membership of Motley Fool

After years of membership I have resigned from share trading and no longer need help from Motley Fool.
Due to an admin error I was billed the annual fee. Thanks to the outstanding efforts of Abbie this mistake was quickly sorted out. MF is an outstanding service for share investors, perhaps the best in the business.

I followed Motley Fools recommendation-…

I followed Motley Fools recommendation- for about 2 years- bought 21 stock- spent $ 28 K . Not one - of those recommendations made any profit - I lost 60% of my investment !
Never in my life- I invested in those hopeless shares. They saying- “ long term investment “- if you plan to live 100 years- maybe ?
Invest the same money in properties- and you make millions ! I did !
They still advertising- “ great investment strategies “- absolute joke and a con.
Coming from the Gold Coast- no surprise
