Foster Grant Reading Glasses

My husband bought me a pair of reading glasses from Foster Grant on Amazon for my birthday in January. The ones I ordered were brown. The ones I received, were blue. Blue is my favorite color, so I just went with it. They were my back-up pair, so I put them on my dresser for when I needed them. About 3 weeks ago, my old pair broke, so I started using them. This morning, the rim broke on the side, when I was cleaning them. 3 weeks is not ok for the amount of time that they lasted. I am very disappointed. Trying to get in touch with a live person at Customer Service was a joke. Tried multiple times. All I got was automated crap. Will not be buying Foster Grant in the future. Quality has totally gone down hill.

Awful delivery experience

Having had a good experience with FG's products previously, I ordered some glasses online. Without the specific flat number in the address, the courier was unable to deliver. All my fault.

However, the problem was not relayed to me and I had to continually chase with no response, finally making contact with a director before anything was actually done to resolve the issue.

OK products ruined by the experience of trying to receive the items. Just not worth it unless you are entirely wedded to the brand.

Have bought several packs of Foster…

Have bought several packs of Foster Grant reading glasses from Costco, unfortunately they don’t warrant more than 1 star, every single pair I have bought the plastic frame has fractured, which results in them being thrown away.
Judging by reviews, Foster Grant are well aware of the quality, and seem to think that after 90 days, if they fracture that is acceptable, well I for one will not be buying again !!!

Bought Ironman reading glasses

Bought Ironman reading glasses. Had a rubber piece peel on BOTH pairs. Wrote the company and sent photos. Albeit they replied promptly, they simply stated they could not help me nor ship to Canada any replacements. Not even an emailed voucher or anything. Nothing Ironman about the company or their product!!!

I bought the Sawyer, broke the first day.

I bought the Sawyer - Multifocal / 2.75 / Gunmetal Grey glasses. To be honest, they worked beautifully. Right up until the ear piece broke off at the hinge as I was wearing them. The first day I wore them. I went to their website, chatted with a CSR and they said "No problem, I'm putting in a new order right this second for a new pair to be sent". Weeks passed, no glasses. I got back on the website, talked to another CSR. "Hmm, not sure why it wasn't shipped, I'll cancel that order and put in another, should be sent out immediately". Weeks passed, no glasses. Went back to the website. Chatted with another CSR. Almost word for word the exact same conversation. Apparently this happens often enough that they train them how to handle customers who don't receive products because it never gets shipped. DO NOT buy from them.

Poor Quality Frames that Do Not Last

I’ve purchased several pairs of Foster Grant multi focus reading glasses. I am very careful
With them and have pairs which remain at home and at work. They typically last just a few months before the frame breaks. I contacted FG to let them know my opinion and received a response stating anything over 90 days is considered normal use. I think the glasses should last longer. Unfortunately, I’m unable to find another vendor for these but am actively seeking alternative choices. I do not recommend this product.

Foster Grant off the shelf Readers

I have laterally purchased 100s of Foster Grant Readers at various Box Stores over the years and until recently have been vary happy with them. If they broke it was usually as the result of some careless act by me. But within the last month or 2 they must have changed their process and or their materials and they break for no reason. They have lost my business unless they go back to the great product they used to make.

horrible quality on 2 sets of plastic readers.

I purchased 2 pairs of Foster Grants from Costco in the last couple of years only to have to return them as they cracked. They were round readers about +2.5 The first set broke on the frame along one of the lens after only 1 1/4 yrs. Both the exact same set again and this time they only lasted 4 mos. The quality obviously was horrible. I am glad I got them from Costco because of their return policy. I have never had a pair of glasses break in this way. I am wondering who makes a tougher set of specs so that they can last years w/o breaking? btw, I was very careful when cleaning to not use too much pressure even more so with the 2nd set. 1st set returned approx 5/3/2022, 2nd set returned approx 1/31/2024

Foster Grant - Gargoyles

Foster Grant bought my favorite sunglasses company and then discontinued its products. Meanwhile, their website has the products listed as “unavailable”. If it’s discontinued, I’d recommend not having them pop up as results in your company SEO. Of course, I’d prefer if FG bring back the company and it’s products, as I find their current offerings lackluster in the safety rated polarized sunglasses (there are none) realm.

Quality sunglasses.

I bought the Foster Grant Surge Sports Sunglasses. Its high-quality lens provides me with 100% UVA-UVB protection. It's also quite sturdy, all the while being sleek and stylish.
