🚨 Customer Warning: Unjustified Fees by @Free2Move 🚨

I rented a car from @Free2Move (Booking #F193169) and returned it spotless—only to be charged a €48 "cleaning fee" with no explanation or prior notice. Despite multiple emails, no refund, no response, no accountability.

🔹 Vehicle returned clean (confirmed by staff). 🔹 No issues raised at return. 🔹 Fee applied arbitrarily.

@Free2Move, where is the transparency? I expect an immediate refund and an explanation. If not, I’ll escalate to consumer protection agencies and ensure fellow travelers are aware of this practice.

Misleading system made me miss my train and cost me money

This was one of the most frustrating rental experiences I’ve ever had. I was misled for 4–5 HOURS by the app, being directed to supposed “charging poles” and designated “home areas” where I should have been able to end my trip. Every time I arrived, there were NO charging poles at all, or when I parked within the marked home area, the app simply would not allow me to end the trip. I was stuck driving around Paris trying to follow incorrect instructions from their own system. Because of this complete failure, I missed my train from Paris to Amsterdam, which cost me a significant amount of money. This was not a small inconvenience, it directly impacted my travel plans and finances. A car-sharing company should provide accurate information and a functioning end-trip system. Instead, I lost hours, missed my train, and received no effective support.

If your entire schedule depends on being somewhere on time, do not rely on this service.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever, stay away if you want to avoid being robbed.

Booked a day tarif (24h) but they cjsrhed me minutes instead. Then it was -5 degrees and they ended my rent when i wanted to enter without giving me a warning call because (no joke) i used too many minutes.

Now they additionally want to charge me for regrieving the car.

I rented a car from Free2Move in…

I rented a car from Free2Move in Beauvais (21 rue de Tillé) from 6–8 November 2025. Two months later, they suddenly charged €96 for exterior and interior cleaning and debited my bank card without warning. After about a month of email back-and-forth, they finally refunded half, admitting they had made a mistake with the exterior cleaning charge.

This delayed, unexpected charge and their handling of the situation is completely unprofessional, careless, and shows a total lack of respect for customers. I strongly advise others to beware of renting from them.

Worst company in over 20 years of business

I have been in business for 20 years and worked with many different organisations but this company is by far the worst. Their phone lines are a joke, no one will answer no matter how frequently you try and how long you wait. Their email responses are short, dismissive and always end with 'this case is now closed, please do not respond'. It took them nearly two months to respond to our last email. They have taken money that doesn't belong to them and refuse to refund it. After years of being their customer we are finally free, they are a scam company, avoid at all costs!!!

Excellent service

Excellent service, including charging my electric vehicle prior to delivery.

Take some margin on the drop-off, they had some schedule conflicts with other clients and I had to wait one hour.

Charged for blowout/burst tire

While standing still my tire bursted/blown up (luckily not while driving) and this company daired to charge me 248 euros. I could literally have been death and a blown tire is obviously not my wrong doing. Never rent a car/ use their carsharing app)

I have received penalty for speeding…

I have received penalty for speeding and Company free2move issued me invoice 2 times, why hould I pay 2 times for one invoice? Amount was deducted twice

Fake charges

Awful company. Hired a care in October 2025 for a weekend in France. In January 2026 I received a charge of 48 euros for a 'cleaning charge'. When I queried this it was because there was dust and dried dirt from feet in the passenger footwell. I spoke to multiple staff members who told me 'you're not the only one struggling with this issue' and that the pictures of the car do not dignify the charge.
Not once did customer service contact me, I needed to reach out to them via international phone call every single time, even when they emailed me to say 'we need you to get in touch' only to say that the email was sent in error and there was no update.
Awful from start to finish.

UPDATE 26/01 - They refunded me the 48 euros but are now chasing me for the payment to be made to them. I've emailed them a couple of times reminding them of this mess but they don't seem to be reading them.

UPDATE TWO 11/06 - They are still chasing me to pay them 48 euros that they refunded me admitting it was an error and are now threatening to take me to a debt collector.

Super inefficient customer service

It was very much a mixed experience.
I rented a car for 3 months on the Car-on-Demand plan in Spain.
And I made it very clear from the start my Spanish wasn't great so email would be best.
Contract was signed and car was scheduled for delivery when I was told the agent working with me had left and someone new took over. I went from having to pay the deposit and first month, to having to pay the desposit plus 3 months in advance because they couldn't do a direct debit on a foreign bank account (even though I was using a credit card).
I paid upfront, and after a very confusing few days where multiple people kept reaching out to me and confirming delivery details. Some on the phone - and they would get frustrated when I couldn't speak Spanish?
Car was delivered on time and in good condition.
The following month a new invoice was issued and funds automatically deducted from my credit card.
I queried it and the transaction was reversed, as I had paid upfront.
This happened again a few weeks later.
And I'm still getting requests to pay an additional invoice. And when I called and queried in mixed English/Spanish I was told there is nothing outstanding on my acocunt.

The car was returned almost a month ago and my deposit has not been refunded yet. When I query it I get told they are awaiting the mechanic's report. And I need to call the call center - the same call center that does not deal with non-Spanish speakers....
Yet they also told me they couldn't extend the contract because the car was booked to go to someone else. So it's definitely not still sitting with the mechanic....
