Freedom Kitchens a one stop minimum stress full kitchen renovation place

We wanted a full kitchen renovation before I retired and in the timeframe that we were after. Freedom provided the complete package. From the showroom sales person, measure and quote, online portal, trades estimate seperate to the kitchen installation (which gave us an idea of the total cost), ideas to change the positioning of appliances, delivery on time of our new kitchen, CAD department final plans, co-ordination and planning of the trades, follow up phone calls, etc. So many people all friendly and helpful making sure it was a one stop shop if you wanted it all handled by Freedom Kitchens. The installer made suggestions for slight changes if he thought they were a better option. Every tradie cleaned up after they finished. Highly recommend Freedom Kitchens if you want a minimum stress all inclusive kitchen renovation package.

Freedom kitchen

We had Harley come out and help design our kitchen he made everything easy and design options. We had already looked at what we wanted. Organisation was easy from deliveries to trades. We had a minor mishap with our pantry but overall we love our kitchen and how it has turned out.

Think twice…don’t be rushed by them

I decided to go with a Freedom Kitchen instead of custom made and have a few regrets. The design is ok but a few things that irritate me. I have to be very careful that my dishwasher is fully closed or my draws bang into it and what I thought was going to be a corner opening cupboard is only a normal door and opens towards my oven and can hit it if not careful. The cupboards above my stove top don’t line up. I was never advised that the kick boards have to be set back further than my original kitchen which means I have a large gap of concrete showing till I can afford to replace my floors. Talking about gaps…I thought I was getting a dishwasher space but this was just a gap between cabinetry and the side panel does not go to the floor which means rodents have access to all under your cupboards. I raised this as a concern and was laughed at!! Also told that it needed the gap for plumbing which is not true. I also have gaps above my kitchen cupboards due to where the bulkhead was setback to. Yet again contractor recommended by freedom just rolled his eyes and fixed it by a little strip of plastic. Coordination between stone supplier and cabinet delivery very poor and I was forced to change my benchtop choice or I would have had no kitchen for an additional 6 or more weeks. Make sure you get prices for trade and don’t just go with theirs for ease or you pay a crazy premium. Only thing I think was worthwhile was using the installer as he was amazing.. just a shame he didn’t get all the money I paid for cupboard installation as the builder whacked on his cut. The care from the builder was very poor. Reason I went with contractor was cos I thought I would be covered for damage to my place but that was not the case.

Losing Deposit

I made the decision to cancel my contract tonight and in the process will lose the deposit I paid. I was told today that I would have to bear the costs of getting painters and tradespeople to do flooring as Freedom don’t have people to do these works. I was assured by the design consultant that the price quoted included the work of getting the above-mentioned tradespeople. I have learnt the hard way to take the time to read the fine print. Today, the site checker came to take measurements only to let me know that the design needed to be changed. I had to reach out to the site checker even though I was assigned this person last month and did not receive any response till recently. When I mentioned my concern about the negative reviews I have read about Freedom Kitchens, the design consultant assured me that head office would help but to be honest I don’t have a good feeling. The messaging portal has been prompt to answer queries I have had. When the site checker mentioned throwing the current cabinetry from the second level to make it easier to remove cabinetry, I was a bit concerned. I know he had good intentions and not to damage the walls but I haven’t been sold on the idea. He then mentioned that I would have to be without a kitchen while I got someone to do the flooring, all good, provided people come back when they are meant to come back. Based on the reviews I have read, I can’t take the chance and pay more money. I was put on the spot and was told to sign if I wanted the 25% offer and the free dishwasher. Only valid at time of consultation. I have only myself to blame.

Ignoring request to discuss faulty workmanship.

Has anyone else been totally sidestepped when they reach out to discuss faulty workmanship?
We have had to call someone in to rectify faulty workmanship and Freedom have just ignored attempts to communicate either by phone or email-
0ther than saying they will look into this with the people concerned.
