INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED

FreeUp was good for a while, but it seems they've built their business plan on promoting really cheap labor from the Philippines and India. This is what they promote to their clients. I am on the client mailing list too so I see what the clients get. So after a while the work dried up. The customers all wanted to pay $10 an hour for professional services. After being submitted for 16 prospective projects with no response whatsoever for the client, I gave up. FreeUp says the vet both their freelancers AND clients, but there are a TON of projects that get posted, freelancers submit for, and then the prospective customers never follow through. No word from them, no word from FreeUp. No project. After a few months you get a notice that the project has been cancelled. They also really need a tool for clients to leave feedback on the freelancers. Lastly, they changed their fees on fixed rate projects to TWENTY PERCENT! That's loan shark territory. I was so excited for and happy with FreeUp for the first year and wound up incredibly disappointed

First of all, I’m are sorry to hear that you have not received any client response on your applications. As you know, both clients and freelancers go through a vetting process to confirm their legitimacy. We ensure that all clients pass our fraud detection process.
While some clients take time to respond to freelancers regarding their applications, most clients hire right away when they find the best match. If you ever have an issue with connecting with a client, please feel free to reach out to us directly about that client.
Rate: Please note that freelancers set their own rates. We accept freelancers based on their skills, work history and attitude and not by how much they charge for their services.
Tool to leave feedback on freelancers: I highly agree with you on this. While we don’t have public reviews for freelancers yet, we keep a rating on freelancers and make sure to only keep ones that have positive feedback from clients.
FreeUp Fee: Because we take feedback seriously, we use the FreeUp fees mostly to accomodate the requests from both our freelancers and clients about various updates on our platform. And we are happy to say that we have made a lot of progress since we updated the FreeUp fee. Our fees also continue to be lower than other marketplaces.

Amazing and Trustworthy Platform

I have been working on FreeUp for about 6 months now and have had nothing but a fantastic experience.

Their support is absolutely awesome and I've been given a ton of opportunity for work as a content writer.

If you've had enough of Upwork or Freelancer, then seriously consider giving FreeUp a try.

They are still up and coming but their platform has so much potential for growth.

I've only ever had one issue with a client that was resolved easily and with no issues thanks to their support team.

FreeUp isn't just a freelancing platform, it truly feels like a working community that welcomes its freelancers as friends.

Payment is always on time and never an issue and it's super easy to get started.

Shaik karke person hai jo Andheri East area handle karte hai.
Sirf apko date denge ..

Na freeup wale cal nahi uthte.
Na courier partner na guy.
West of money.

I am not sure what they are looking for in application submit process I have 8 years experience as a senior developer and I run an agency as well. have skilled developers with me how can they guys make sure in application submit process taking just user info no tech question based on that disqualify system need to approve candidate should be disqualify after only technical test if he/she fail

Terrible support for the pros

Terrible support for the pros. And when they screw up, they threaten you with write ups and cancellations of you on the network. Was always unclear on what was going on most of the time. My “rep” would take on average of two weeks or more to reply to my Slack messages … and would mostly just ignore
my emails!? FreeUp posts all these corny ass ads on Facebook about how their platform makes freelancers have steady work and life is all amazing happily ever after!! TOTAL BULLSH***!! Stay away!!

I am not certain what they are looking for, but I have doctorate and masters degree with a copious amount of experience in several industries including a background in administration and admin assistant, yet denied an interview? Good luck folks.

Freeup is garbage

Freeup is garbage. Clients don't know how to work with designers, and yet are supported by freeup staff. They'll get the work and then cancel the job before you get paid. Do yourself a favor if you're a freelancer - run don't walk away - steer clear of these scammers.

Freeup responds "When there is a dispute between a client or freelancer, FreeUp always works to be an impartial intermediary."

My reply: nonsense - NOT the case - NEVER responded to being the victim of theft of services - just blocked me. Good riddance to bad rubbish I say.

When there is a dispute between a client or freelancer, FreeUp always works to be an impartial intermediary. In the case of fixed price projects, our Terms of Service lays out:

-50% of payment for this project would be released upon completion and approval from the client.
-Treatment of all users: any correspondence between our internal team, freelancers, and clients must be positive. We do not tolerate rude, harassing, or discriminatory language.

Any violation of our Terms of Use are taken extremely seriously - including termination from the platform. We are sorry that you had a disappointing experience on the platform, and we wish you the best of luck on all future endeavors.

WELCOME TO SCAM CITY There is no transparency as you would expect because you can't actually leave reviews for your hires and that is the reason I hired mine. He DID NOT COMPLETE THE JOB. Free up customer service does nothing. When you make a "ticket" aka create a job for someone it is titled with the basics, the specifics you need are - get this - discussed between you and the hire through ONLY EMAIL! ALL COMMUNICATION IS NOT DONE ON THE SITE. So guess what, when you want to dispute they didn't complete the job customer service goes by what the ticket says on the site and you are SOL OUT OF YOUR MONEY. FREE UP, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

In the meantime, I would like to address a few of your concerns below:

1. Freelancer Performance Reviews:

We currently do not have client and freelancer based review system. However, please note that we have an extensive internal review process of our freelancers which is done consistently which evaluates any client issues the freelancer has had as well as job success rate.

We have a very high standard for our freelancers on our platform and any freelancer who does not hit the mark is removed from the platform. The goal is that we do the work for the client that way you don't have to.

2. Communication:

Any time that a client has a billing dispute with a freelancer, we will request all documentation from the client that shows the freelancer not completing tasks agreed upon, lack of communication or breach of terms of use. This can be documentation from any platform (contracts, NDAs, email, slack, asana, skype, etc.). The requirements of tasks are not solely based on the job description as we understand that job roles can evolve over time.

I'm probably FreeUP's biggest client by far within two years, I've spent over £7,000 on there platform and all they do is complain to you when you have missed a payment invoice that is due.

If you are starting from 0 and want to…

If you are starting from 0 and want to be a freelancer this is a great place to start. It took me two-three months to get a first client, to set up an account, pass the interview and figure out what to concentrate on. I have found a great long term client here. Watching dally jobs listings, you easily figure out what is hot on the market. Hourly rates might be slight lower compared to Upwork on average but you can find also higher payed jobs.
Customer service on freeup is the best I know existing today...
