This is my 3rd visit and as always the place was immaculate!
Matt gave us a tutition on Sunday which changed my whole outlook on my set up , we wouldn’t of caught without it!
Matt and Irene couldn’t be more helpful and I’m looking forward to booking again soon, This is truly a special place .
We banked catfish up to 107lb and carp up to 48lb

Top notch accommodation set in picturesque gardens and woodland right next to the lake in a beautiful area of French countryside with all amenities close by. The lake is a pleasure to fish and full of large hard fighting pristine specimen carp which average over 30lb. We had carp over 40lb and multiple catches of mid and upper 30lb carp fishing days only. Matt and rene are on hand when needed to provide everything you need for a memorable holiday including fantastic knowledge of the fish and lake. They provide a great bait service including particles, pellets and boilies which the beausoleil carp love in abundance. We absolutely loved our family holiday at beausoleil and will be returning as regularly as possible. Thanks Matt and rene for making it such a memorable experience.

WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE!
This was our first fishing trip in France and we could not of asked for anything more.
In an idlic setting, it is an extremely cared for fishery resulting in fantastic carp and cats.
Matt And Ren were excellent hosts, very helpful and knowledgeable and could not do enough to help. I would definitely recommend the lesson.
We really can’t express how much we have enjoyed the trip. We would definitely recommend Beausoleil Cat and Carp to anybody looking for a fishing trip in France and we will be back for a second visit soon. 😊

Can only describe it as a stunning English estate lake in France.
I booked my trip last minute as I wanted to get away from work and the current situation (Covid). I found their website when searching for luxury carp fishing France. The lake is stunning, topped off with a luxury cabin a stone through from the lake, once I arrived, I fell in love with the place. Driving to the lake the surrounding area and towns are absolutely beautiful. Small bars, bakeries etc
On arrival Matt and Wren met us with an ice-cold beer, they are a fantastic couple and immediately made us feel at home.
Matt spent the next few hours walking me around the lake providing me with alot off information, it was clear he really wanted me to do well. I was a little sceptical of the tuition as I’ve been fishing pretty tough venues for a number of years but I thought why not, Matt is clearly a very passionate fisherman with huge amount off experience, I picked up a number of really useful simple tactics which I will use going forward in my fishing.
I felt so comfortable in Matts company I decided to go for a second days tuition to go after the big Cats, I’ve never caught a cat before and the prospect was quite daunting, however I really wanted to have the experience. I’ve caught large carp in the past but this was something different, Matt walked me through all aspects of fishing for large Cats, he gave me a very good insight what to expect and I wasn’t disappointed, within a few hours I had a 90 pound catfish on the bank. Matt guided me through the entire experience which helped me to enjoy the unbelievable battle, what an amazing creature.
I could go on and on as the experience at Beausoleil was fantastic, my wife loved the cottage and spent most of her time enjoying reading and catching some sun.
I’ve booked again to go back in September and can’t wait.

I have been travelling to France at least twice a year for over 20 yrs now and have fished many different waters , I have no interest in the large open waters or the all inclusive lakes, over the last 10 yrs my requirements due to my wife's health issues have changed , she now loves to accompany me on our trips to France as we both love the laid back pace of life , There was a time when she was happy with dodgy sofa bed and a dirty water French shower but how things have changed ! We came across beausoleil a few yrs ago by accident when lost in the French countryside , unfortunately we were unable to get a space on the lake that suited us that year so booked and waited for our chance to fish the lake in mid October . When our dates eventually came round we arrived full of excitement and enthusiasm , we arrived and were met by without doubt the 2 friendliest and enthusiastic fishery owners we have ever met ! Couple that with Matt's overall knowledge of not just his lake but carp fishing in general , My fishing was a success and I have to admit my success was down to effort , effort that Matt quite clearly states is necessary to get a result at Beausoleil . If just turning up and slinging your rods out into an easy runs water with fish queuing up to have there picture taken is what you after ? Then I would give Beauseliel a miss , On the other hand if you want a water where every fish is worked for and in absolute mint condition then this is the place to come ! The facilities are without doubt the best we have experienced at a fishery and there really is nothing we would change . As for the grounds and surroundings of the lake they are absolutely stunning and the abundance of wildlife is amazing . Lastly the owners Matt & Ren are unquestionably the most passionate and knowledgeable fishery owners we have met , The level of care they put into the surroundings , the lake and the lodge is way beyond anything we have ever encountered , Matts knowledge and advice was invaluable on my 1st visit and many things we chatted about still play a part in my fishing today both home and abroad . Just spent an interesting exciting and rewarding week fishing a tributary of the Loire under the guidance of Matt Collins (Beausoleil)
Lovely river, no other anglers, few well behaved boats, no litter, well maintained banks and polite cyclists on the towpath.
The area chosen by Matt had been well primed with his river boileys which resulted in a 28lb mirror 3 hrs after starting.
Over the period of 6 days fishing in April type weather rather than flaming June we found it more rewarding to fish from midday till 11pm.
I decide to stay put in my designated swim and build it up using 3 kilo per day.
On the second evening I had a screaming take and connected with a hard fighting fish which tore off downstream.
DO NOT GO UNDER GUNNED !!
I was using a 3 25 Torrix. 1400 Ultegra. 75 lb Spiderwire. 30 lb Amnesia. 35 lb Kevlar and size 2 hooks with 4 or 6 oz gripper leads. The fish put up a great
scrap using every trick it knew.
Used maximum pressure to bank it ,a beautiful long and deep mirror with a few large scales by its tail. On the scales it went close to 40lb less weigh net 37.12. I am still dreaming of it.
I am no stranger to river carping having fished the half tidal Thames for a few years. A 2lb tc and 15 lb just won't do. The set up mentioned earlier will give you a fighting chance and remember to sharpen your hooks.
