excellent customer service

Headline: Exceptional Support from Dan Knowles!
"I recently had some significant issues with my solar system not responding, coupled with a lot of confusion over the new app's interface. It was a stressful situation, but Dan Knowles, the Customer Service Manager, was absolutely brilliant.
Dan went above and beyond to ensure my system was back online and took the time to walk me through the new app until I felt comfortable using it. His communication was prompt, professional, and genuinely helpful. It’s rare to find this level of dedication to customer care these days. Highly recommend Fresh Solar, and specifically Dan, if you want peace of mind with your installation!"

Great support from Fresh

Had my installation from Fresh for some years before I noticed some weeks ago that the invertor was not communicating. Following me contacting them an investigation on their part ensued followed by a house visit. The issue was resolved in no time an their engineer took good care of us ensuring the issue was fully resolved before leaving.

Very satisfied with the installation, time will tell on the savings on solar system

Overall, satisfied with the service provided. Taran who came to survey the site was very informative and was very helpful to answer questions before I committed with the purchase. Installation team were great too, Wayne and Dan were great at communicating how the installation will happen and were very tidy. Couple of hiccups with the installation as the install team were supplied with the wrong equipment but this was resolved pretty swiftly with minimal inconvenience. Only feedback would be for the team to improve communication between sales/op/install team to ensure future installation are delivery first time rather than multiple visits, would the company additional costs.

Pending a couple of amendments to my paperwork, but I'm sure Beth and Annalise will resolve it.

Avoid – Incompetent Sales, Failed Promises, and Shocking Rudeness

===========

Response 23/02/2023

Thank you for your response, which effective confirms that the 'moving goalposts' were a result of your internal errors rather than any action on my part - contrary to the blame Alan attempted to place on me.

Regarding Technical Accuracy and mis-selling:

- Performance estimates: You admit that shading was corrected, when it was actually just ignored in the initial quote. As a customer, I made the financial decision to proceed based on the 7,45 KWH output your sales team promised. Reducing this significantly after taking my money, is by definition, mis-selling.

- System Feasibility: You claim to prioritise a 'functional system', yet your sales rep, Leo, Explicitly agreed that the proposed layout was possible. If your sales team is selling 'physically unfeasible' designs, you have a severe systemic training and communication failure.

Regarding the 'Costco Transition' and Dishonesty:
- Misleading advise: your claim that I moved to Costco without consultation is an outright lie. I specifically asked Leo whether to pay Fresh directly or via Costco; stated it 'didn't matter'.
- Contract manipulation: Leo directed me to pay for a 14-pannel package on the Costco site to cover the £10,500 cost of a 16-Panel system. I followed his exact instructions. To now frame this as an 'administrative complication' caused by me is dishonest.

Regarding professional Conduct:
- Unacceptable hostility: You have notably failed to address the specific nature of Leo's Conduct. being told by a salesperson - after paying £10,500 - that I'm 'doing his nut in', this is 'cheap business' and to 'stop messaging' is professional malpractice.
- Management failures: while I was prepared to overlook the technical errors, I cannot overlook the verbal abuse from Leo or the dismissive, Blame-shifting attitude of his boss Alan.

Cancelled due to staff hostility and rudeness.

========
Original 21/02/26
I am writing this to warn others of the unprofessionalism and technical incompetence I experienced with this company (contacted via Costco). After paying over £10,500 in full, upfront, the experience has been a nightmare of dwindling performance estimates and a complete lack of accountability.

The Technical "Moving Goalposts":
Initial Quote: Promised an output of 7,045 kWh.

First Revision: Dropped to 6,657 kWh due to a "shading error" by the salesperson, Leo.

Final Revision: Dropped to c. 6,100 kWh after being told the agreed-upon panel placement was "physically impossible".

Dismissive Attitude: When I challenged these drops, the attitude was dismissive, implying the system would simply "generate something" regardless of what the formal documents or performance estimates stated. This disregard for technical accuracy is a blatant violation of the trust a customer places in an installer. Not sure if this in inline with MCS guidelines.

Operational Failures:
Unprofessional Logistics: Scaffolding teams arrived unannounced without an appointment.

Canceled Installations: On the day of the install, they canceled due to staff sickness. While I was told a customer cancellation would cost me £750, I was only offered a fraction of that in compensation for their last-minute no-show.

Hidden Fees: Post-survey, they attempted to charge an additional £700 for cabling that should have been identified in the initial consultation.

Shocking Conduct:
The most concerning part of this experience was the response from the salesperson, Leo. When I raised concerns about the constantly reducing output and the technical feasibility of the design we agreed upon, he sent a voice note stating he was "stressed," told me to "stop messaging" him, and disparaged me for booking through Costco, claiming it was "cheap business".

Management Sabotage: After the salesperson (Leo) sent a shockingly rude voice note telling me to "stop messaging" because I was a "stress," the manager, Alan, attempted to "buy" my silence with a £300 discount.

Gaslighting: When I refused to accept the poor treatment, Alan accused me of "changing the goalposts," despite the fact that every change was a result of their survey errors and their recommendations.

It is unheard of for a customer who has paid five figures upfront to be told they are a "stress" to the company for simply asking for the service they paid for.

Leo’s claimed that I "cost them money" by going through Costco is a blatant attempt to guilt-trip me for using a legitimate lead-generation channel that they chose to partner with.

Summary:
This company lacks the technical expertise to provide accurate quotes and the professional temperament to handle customer service. If you value your money and your sanity, look elsewhere. I am now forced to seek a refund through Costco.

Thank you for providing your feedback. We take all client concerns seriously, particularly those involving technical specifications and professional conduct. Having reviewed the project timeline and internal logs, we would like to provide clarity on the technical and administrative challenges encountered.
Technical Accuracy & Integrity Our primary responsibility as an MCS-accredited installer is to ensure a system is electrically viable. The "moving goalposts" regarding output were, in fact, necessary corrections made by our technical audit team to protect the long-term performance of your investment:
Shading: Our secondary internal audit identified potential shading from a neighbouring property. We chose to lower the estimate to provide a realistic expectation of generation rather than an over-inflated one.
Voltage Requirements: Regarding the front gable, our engineers determined that a 2-3 panel string would not meet the required inverter startup voltage. Proceeding with your requested layout would have resulted in a system that failed to generate power for significant portions of the year. We prioritise a functional, safe system over simply "making a sale" on a design that is physically unfeasible.
The Costco Transition The administrative complications arose when, two weeks after a bespoke direct deal had been negotiated and agreed upon, an order was placed via Costco without prior consultation with our team. This transition necessitated an entirely new contract and a revision of the terms to align with third-party requirements, which naturally reset the processing timeline.
Professional Conduct Regarding the communication from our sales team, we aim for the highest standards of professionalism. While the frustrations of managing multiple design changes and third-party transitions can be high, we apologise if the tone of our correspondence did not meet the standard you expected. Similarly, the gesture from management was intended as a goodwill token to resolve the friction during the design phase, not as a means to dismiss your concerns.
Summary We believe it is far better to identify physical and electrical impossibilities during the survey and auditing stage than to install a sub-optimal system. While we regret that we could not reach an agreement on a design that met both your aesthetic preferences and our engineering standards, we have cooperated fully with your request for a refund through the appropriate channels.

Reconnecting solar equipment to WiFi network

Fresh Electrical Solutions installed my solar panels in 2024. Since then I have changed internet provider and the technical team were extremely helpful in supporting me to reconnect my solar equipment to my new internet provider. The process is a little complicated but they helpfully talked me through it step by step. The team were very helpful and it is much appreciated.

I’ve been so pleased we went with Fresh…

I’ve been so pleased we went with Fresh Solar. Initially it was the longer warranties and the way Steve answered my questions, that made me go with Fresh Solar. As I moved through the process I realised what a professional team I had chosen. The fitters Tom and Tom, and Electrical Engineer Craig arrived promptly in Fresh Solar vans each day and got straight to work after taking me through the plan and cable routing options. The job they did was just perfect and the result was really tidy and looks great. Even though I asked lots of questions they patiently took me through the answers with detailed explanations. From the admin side Kelsey, was totally on the case, even answering my emails and submitting my DNO application on a Saturday. As a result my DNO was approved less than week after commissioning. Amazing! . Thank you so much Kelsey and the whole Fresh Solar team. I could not recommend you guys enough.

Excellent product and customer service

The whole experience of dealing with Fresh Electrical Solar was excellent. The sales representative Ravi was very knowledgablw and took time explaining the benefits of the product to meet our needs. I had spoken to several solar companies prior to Fresh Solar who were very pushy. The installation team and after sales support provided by Dan were also excellent. I am absolutely delighted with the customer service from start to finish and would highly recommend this company.

Hello fresh install

My recent experience with hello fresh has been excellent. From the first time Lyn visited she is very knowledgeable about the batteries and panels. She went through everything thoroughly. There was never any pressure to sign up. The installation team were excellent as well. They carried out the installation efficiently and respected my property whilst working. Thanks again to Lyn and the team

Professional and efficient from start to finish

I had been considering having solar panels installed for a while and was recommended to contact Fresh to see whether it was worthwhile and affordable. Initial contact was made by Lyn who came round to explain how everything worked and where it would be put on the property. Lyn was extremely helpful and was on hand to answer any questions before I took the plunge and ordered. Contact by the installers was excellent and they were very professional. Despite my fears of scaffolding being up forever, or a messy install that didn’t seem to function as expected, everything was installed quickly, professionally and without left over mess. The scaffolding even came down within 10 days (with a lead time of two weeks). The app seems to be working fine and the system appears to be working perfectly. I was impressed by the install team and Lyn and glad I took the plunge.

Disputed Charge Following Solar Installation

Very disappointed with this company’s workmanship and how the issue was handled.

A solar cable was installed inside my garage in close proximity to the garage door opening mechanism, without adequate protection. During normal use of the garage door, the cable was struck and damaged. This was entirely foreseeable based on the way the cable had been routed.

Despite this, the company denied any responsibility and claimed the issue had “nothing to do with their installation.” I was even told to “have a think over the festive period,” which I found dismissive and unprofessional.

To avoid further risk to my solar system, I had no option but to proceed with the repair and pay £375 + VAT under protest, while reserving my right to complain and seek reimbursement.

While the repair itself was completed, the original installation and the company’s refusal to take responsibility for it have left me with no confidence in their customer service or workmanship.

Hi Hinto, Thank you for your review. You failed to mention in the review what happend to your garage door. The cable was not struck in normal operation. Your garage door in fact completley collapased. It then struck the cable. If your garage door did not collapse then there would be no issue. We fail to understand why you are putting the liability onto us for your garage door failure which indeed is nothing to do with our installation which we advised you. We have the evidence thank you. Anything else please get int touch. CS team.

Mixed experience

Mixed experience. The Good: Ravi in sales and the installers were excellent and professional. The Bad: Communication is non-existent; I had to chase the company for every update. Additionally, their scaffolding sub-contractor left equipment on my drive for over a month, failing to meet several promised deadlines for removal. I’m happy with the solar, but the process was unnecessarily stressful.
