We bought 6 penguins and 6 christmas trees and although quite expensive for the price the taste was absolutely delicious. Gorgeous taste and beautiful to look at. Very happy

I ordered sugar free chocolates. They are totally tasteless, not even tasting like chocolate. I know they use sweeteners instead of sugars, but I reckon they forgot even the sweeteners! It has been a waste of money - and they are not cheap, so I will not be recommending them to any of my friends and acquaintances.

Thoroughly enjoyed all the flavours in the chocolate box each chocolate is a little taste of gorgeousness , a million miles from the high street selection all beautifully packaged quick delivery. Great company to deal with. Will use again soon

Friars make fancy chocolate boxes that are really nice. They come in pretty packaging with lots of different flavours. The chocolates taste super good and they look amazing too, like little pieces of art. Whether you eat them by yourself or share them with friends, Friars chocolates are a great choice for treating yourself or giving as a gift.

The best chocolate! Really quickly found a special selection for a birthday gift! Delivered super fast and simply delicious! I’ve already come back for some Easter treats!

I've bought from Friars both online and in person in their Keswick store and can't fault either. A great selection of chocolates to suit all tastes, the low sugar options were a great discovery for a gift. I haven't had to use their customer service as no issues with orders, but the staff in the shop are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for gifts or a treat for yourself.

I received the chocolates as a Christmas gift; I live near two chocolate shops which I use; however, I was impressed with my Friars box and have thoroughly enjoyed my present (and only begrudgingly shared!).

We recently switched to Friars from another well-known chocolate making business that recently changed hands. The Friars website was easy to navigate, they had an impressive range of products (we just love dark chocolate), they had competitive prices, and it was a hassle-free delivery. The chocolates were excellent. A big bonus is that they remain a UK family-owned business.

Can’t fault your customer service after I had a small problem thank you I will definitely use you again your chocolate cherries are too nice not to merry Christmas

If you are ever in the Lake District in Keswick visit their shop.
Their online business is also good for birthdays, Christmas & thank you gifts.
I've just received my order. It included a packet of Buttered Brazils. Unfortunately the packet was completely torn open and all the contents in the bottom of the box. Some were broken, all very sticky.
The toffee had transferred to the box of Sugared Almonds. Both were a gift but I can't use them like this.
Its disappointing as I've read other reviews of Friars and this thing does seem to happen.. poor packaging etc etc.
Why a company selling high end produce at a high price can't sort this problem out is beyond me when their business gravitates around online purchasing. (I've bought delicate biscuits online and they arrive intact)!
I've contacted customer services so hopefully they will redeem themselves but it's shabby and I'm not convinced you could rely on receiving your purchases unscathed

Fantastic family company. Loved reading about them.
Will support 100% love the chocolates
Great for gifts.
The courier had absolutely dropped my box and damaged a tin of liqueurs chocolates.
Amazing service from Friars sent me replacements.
Fantastic taste and design and good price.
I was looking forward to trying these chocolates...what a disappointment. I think they'd been stored in the heat and the chocolate was bitter and gritty. God what a complete waste of money. Cadburys is far superior to this!

In Keswick there’s one other shop which always draws me in,
They make fantastic chocolate there. Now where shall I begin?
Large counter is a super sight, with flavours all set out,
I have to visit year by year, of that there is no doubt.
As soon as I step in the door, excitement starts to mount,
Some caution I must exercise, great care is paramount.
I could go really wild in there, but I’ve a limit fixed,
Six rose and coffee creams I buy and don’t mind if they’re mixed.
It’s been the same for decades now, I hate to think how long.
And so as not to spend too much, I have to be quite strong.
So this year in I went again and placed my order there,
And with the lady serving me, some facts I thought I’d share.
“This is my annual visit here, I do the same each year,
For decades I’ve been coming in, for one thing’s very clear,
I’ve scoured the country but can’t find rose creams as good as these,
So that’s why I keep coming back, my sweet tooth to appease.”
She handed me a plastic bag and I went on my way,
I didn’t open up the bag till later in the day.
And there beside my chocolate bag, there was a fancy box,
That she had put in free for me, all FULL OF FONDANT CHOCS.
(I looked them up on their website and the price of the box was £25. What a generous lady! My story brought out the best in her! Perhaps she was impressed by my winning smile!)
I have bought chocolates from Friars as gifts on several occasions now and on both occasions have been impressed and 100% satisfied with all aspects of my dealings with this business,
Customer service quick expertly efficient and cheerful personality
Delivery always on time
Presentation of product is pleasing and all packaging is recyclable
Quality of chocolates is both excellent taste and as my Aunt said the decoration on chocolates is a work of art wgat a lovely present
Would I buy from them again Certainly but I want to eat some myself.

I love Friars and bought of them a lot. I decided to buy some of their cheaper chocolates, the Friars fishing kit, as a gift for a friend. After telling them how tasty and expensive Friars is, I was quite gutted to see that they don't have the Friars label on them, and are sold on behalf of another company. I tasted some and found it to be, what I would call "cheap chocolate", and by no means is this bad, I love the stuff. I just wish it was more clearly stated on the website, that some chocolates are being sold on behalf of other companies, and maybe not be sold for the price tag of £7. Other than that, the delivery was fast, always excellent condition, and I've heard the actual Friars chocolates tasted delightful.
Rather expensive liqueur chocolates were delivered (on a heatwave day) with the outer box actually hot. Royal Mail had obviously ignored the big warning label Do Not Leave In Direct Sunlight. The chocolates were still fine if a bit sticky after they cooled. I informed Friars only to let them know Royal Mail are useless. However they immediately offered to send me a second box. Excellent service.

I ordered No Added Sugar - 48 Chocolates gift box in April and they were set to expire in June. One would have expected a fresh product with a longer shelf life, especially given the large size of the box. The short expiry was noticed by the person who I gifted the box, so I got in touch with Friars who mentioned they start reducing the price at two months but I had paid full price. This was embarrassing and is not the level of service and support I would expect from a luxury chocolate business. I will not purchase from them again.
Returning the chocolates was not a viable solution since Friars very well knew it had been gifted abroad, and I wasn’t going to embarrass myself even more by asking the giftee to return the gift!

Firstly, the chocolate is absolutely first-rate! Cannot recommend that enough! But what I was also impressed with was the customer service. After Royal FAIL decided to send my parcel up north by accident, a couple of the chocolate liqueur cherries got broken. I contacted Friars and they responded quickly and such professionalism. They replaced the chocolates (which were for my partner's 40th) and even threw in a chocolate sheep (as I'd mentioned I have a little boy!) as an apology, even though the chocolates were packaged fine and no doubt damaged in transit by Royal Mail. This family-run business obviously know how to treat their customers and deserve your custom. Thanks again, Friars! My family loved the chocolates - they didn't last long!

The dairy free range is outstanding.
Due to a courier error my order turned up 2 weeks late and damaged.
The customer service was excellent and within a few days I had a fresh order delivered.
I am a firm believer of you pay for what you get and friars is very much worth the money

The cholates are wonderful, not so their website. I'm a returning customer, and have an account, but kept getting told my email and password were incorrect.
I just ordered over £200 of chocolates for gifts, but was told my payment had failed, even though the charge was deducted from my bank account. I'm more than frustrated!
